Voertuig - "Cego" (5:19)
Voertuig - "808 Ambient Jazz" (3:45)
Eoism - "Even Flow" (5:45)
Review: Colkin from Raw Soul and Mauke Club sets the tone on this new FUTUR compilation, which has been curated by Benedikt Meger with a spherical acid house meditation. Peter Seiler's track, a standout from the reissue of his debut album Flying Frames, features Sheryl Hackett's soulful vocals and merges song structure with jazz improvisation. Eoism from Pulse Drift, Undersound, and Inch By Inch delivers low-swung electro flavours perfect for sunset vibes while the B-side opens with Voertuig of Tonal Oceans and Cobra Club who presents a seriously raw acid jam followed by an experimental, jazzy piece, reminiscent of the 90s downtempo era. 'Eoism' closes things with a floating, futuristic banger, going to make a well rounded (in more ways than one) and ultimately very useful piece of vinyl.

Rinaldo Makaj - "Ethereal" (5:30)
Review: Yay Recordings closes out another solid 12 months with a various artists' EP that showcases right where the label is at. Heavy Mental kicks off with 'Dabro', a colourful and loopy house jaunt for sunny days. Twowi's 'Metaverse' takes off to the cosmos on lithe electro rhythms with ice-cold beats and widescreen pads. Parchi Pubblici & Lucretio's 'Aladdin Sane' brings some wonky deep tech vibes with of-balance drums and muffled spoken words and Rinaldo Makaj closes down with a fresh party sound perfect for cosy floors. There's plenty of variety here, which makes this a great addition to your bag.

Review: There is a distinctly old school feel to the dark moods of this new deep house outing on Fruit Merchant from Hidden Spheres and Private Joy. 'Hold On Me' takes you back to the days of Adonis, Hercules and Tax Records with it intense emotion, humid atmospheres and menacing bassline. The drums are raw and jacking but the vocal brings a vital soulful and human edge. After that club mix comes the paired back instrumental, a deeper mix that smooths the edges and makes this more soft focus and cuddly. It's a gorgeous tune for loved-up floors.

Essenza (6:32)
Review: A rich exploration of minimal and tech house sounds with a nostalgic twist. The EP kicks off with 'Istinto,' blending futuristic techno with elements of house music and early 90s bass vibes, all wrapped in spacey sounds that evoke a sense of cosmic adventure. Next, 'Aura' delivers a stomping, darker beat designed to capture attention and drive energy on the dancefloor. Side-2 features 'Potenza' which channels raw techno reminiscent of 1991, incorporating trance elements for a nostalgic feel. The track's energetic vibe and vintage touches make it great for old skool sets. 'Essenza' ends the EP with a great groove and atmospheric feel good melody. A devastating blend of beauty and brawn. Dynamic, engaging tracks that will resonate with techno enthusiasts.

Poseidon's Dream (6:48)
Review: Massimiliano Pagliara's new outing, the 'Hooking Up' EP takes him to Funnuvojere Records with four unique club tracks tailored for different moments on the dance floor. The title track, 'Hooking Up,' gets things going with a cosmic and pop-infused house sound that smudges lush melodies into catchy rhythms for a ride that works on both heel and heart. 'Last Kiss (On Acid)' is a big, pulsating late-night banger that is tailored to high-energy moments. The goodness keeps coming with 'Fave Rave' that has a dirty bass line and last of all is 'Poseidon's Dream,' a playful Italo disco track that ends the night on an upbeat note. The artwork is worth a look too as its a nice and colourful piece inspired by the great David Hockney.

'Strange From 94' sets the stage, with euphoric, atmospheric vibes perfect for expansive, open-air raves. 'Chimera' follows, blending trance and house into a hypnotic groove, its smooth synths and rolling percussion creating a captivating intro for any set. On the B-side, 'Tropyc' offers a more utilitarian rhythm, moving away from melody and focusing on functionality, perfect for building momentum. 'Acid Washing' closes the EP with a driving bassline that intensifies the release's energy, adding an edge that pushes the vibe into sharper territory, capping off a well-rounded, nostalgic journey.

Review: The exceptionally named Panty Soaker Sound System bursts onto the scene here with a powerful debut EP on their own self-titled label. 'Hormones' marks the inaugural outing and is a track that ignites the floor while exploring self-empowerment and inner desires. It has picked up early praise from Honey Dijon and is a full-throttle and steamy, erotic house sound that is sure to become a bit of a winter anthem. The EP includes three acid-infused original mixes, followed by the Prosumer HorMoans Remix which is a dark stomper with prickly 303 lines and a heavy groove. For those craving a harder vibe, the LUXE Dark Room Remix delivers a broken-beat reimagining with high-energy that takes you to new heights.

For the past decade, this Japanese producer and DJ has been hard at work crafting the beautiful four-track EP 'Acid Asia' and it opens with 'P Spectrum,' a psy-trance anthem packed with ravy sounds, fast beats and potent acid bass. The title track explores a cruising house groove and melodies from the Land of the Rising Sun. On the B-side, 'Munchakoopas' offers sweet melodies next to edgy acid synths, and a nod to Yoshi, the legendary Nintendo character. 'Cosmic Flower' shuts down with strong percussion and psytrance vocals that will leave you entranced.

Review: Jackson Lee's Mystical Disco label unveils a new singing here in the form of Paranoid Pyramid. The mysterious outfit enchants us from the off here with the sleazy, meandering acid lines of the opener drawn out over dusty, dubby and deep house drums. 'Water Temple' is another proudly analogue cut with wispy pads way off in the distance and slow but lumpy drums get you into a groove. There is more hazy and horizontal depth to 'Analog Joint' and 'Memphis Prophet' pairs vaporous synths with mystic drum sounds before 'Birdspeak' making for another perfectly lo-fi world of cosmic melodic wonder.

Review: Neapolitan producer Partenope certainly wears a big Underground Resistance influence on his sleeve in the case of 'Odysseya' - it's even mentioned in the press release, and we're not going to argue either. But it's no bad thing, especially as it's a general love of the soulful, uplifting, musical end of the techno scale rather than a creative plunder of any UR track in particular. The label has pulled out the big guns with a Gerd Janson remix to accompany it too, and Janson certainly delivers with his warm production bringing out the best via three way acid trance techno hybrid.

Review: The Neapolis label brings us two slices of sun drenched house with a distinctly European feel and a dubby twist, as Partenopes from Naples offer up the beach ready 'Nella' before Craig Bratley takes the track and turns it on its head. His remix is a slow burning acid affair set to leisurely, breezy hip-hop beats, tailor made for that hour when the sun goes down and the tempo goes up. Magical.

Numero 4
Review: Marco Passarani is a real techno player in his native Rome and beyond, and now he revives his Studiomaster alias for some red hot club cuts. The name comes from the Studiomaster P7 console he tuns his music though in order to lend it some real-world grit and grime. You can hear it in all these cuts, from the acid-laced low-end oscillations of 'Nerve Punch' to the stripped-back and hissing hi-hats and synth sequels of 'Psy Vs Psy'. 'Wake Up Shake It' is another skeletal rhythm with plenty of metallic textures and 'Test Drive' then lands with more of a firm thud. Add in the loopy 'Numero 4' and you have a stylish and severs EP of fresh minimal.

Review: A four-track journey that taps into the timeless energy of underground techno while paying homage to its 90s roots. As always, Perez's meticulous craftsmanship shines, offering a seamless blend of ambient textures, acid flourishes and hypnotic rhythms. 'Voloka' opens with a pulsating groove, its atmospheric layers creating a meditative yet driving start. 'I Stand Alone' follows with an acid-tinged edge, capturing the raw, unfiltered essence of vintage techno. On the flip side, 'Ansia Viva' balances tension and release, weaving immersive textures with a captivating rhythm. Closing the EP, 'Soulfound' is a standout, blending dreamy ambiance with subtle acid lines, evoking a sense of introspection amidst its danceable pulse. Fathers & Sons Productions continues its tradition of presenting music that bridges eras while innovating for the future. Perez's ability to craft tracks that are deep and balanced vintage-infused techno.

Review: Having previously served up sensational EPs from the likes of Anthony Teasdale, Dan Piu and Tape Hiss, Euphporic Music has turned to debutant David Inglesfield's PersistentRain project for its latest 12-inch. Inglesfield dazzles from the start, offering up a warming, heady and analogue-rich slab of club-heavy deep house niceness ('I Can See'). It is followed by vocal and instrumental takes on 'Last Spring', a more nostalgic, jazzy and immersive slab of sunrise-ready soundscape deep house underpinned by a killer bassline. Over on the reverse, Inglesfield reaches for glistening acoustic guitar and hazy spoken word samples on the delicious 'Tryst With the Moon', while closing cut 'You Are The Music' is a drowsy, mid-tempo deep house delight.

Review: Sasha Pervukhin explores the feelings of Heartbreak At Montmartre on this latest slab for the Carpet & Snares label out of Portugal. It kicks off with some well swung tech house drums and a tight bassline thats detailed with some dusty percussion. Once that one gets you marching, 'Your Unhappy Face' brings some late night jazz house vibes with liquid chords and zippy motifs that are nice and loose, and 'What Is Tekno' (Grey Sky At Montmartre As Always mix) then layers in balmy cosmic chords as it rides a classic tech house beat. 'Calm Before Calm' taps into a 90s house sound with a hint of garage skip in the drums.

It remains a fertile scene, too, with several new artists and labels always coming through and the latest is Capybara which kicks off with this fresh new various artists EP. Sasha Pervukhin opens up with 'Oh No!' which brings jacked up drums and frazzled pads. Review: Razor-N-Tape is like catnip to disco and funk lovers - the label seems to serve up endless amounts of dance floor gems and now it is a couple of sick remixes of Phenomenal Handclap Band which have got us all ready for the weekend. First up is a sublime and deep Prince Thomas Diskomiks of 'Burning Bridges' which has gloopy bass and leggy nu-disco drums all overlaid with some funky guitar work and ethereal vocals. The more slow and lumpy original is included while on the flip is 'It Was The Summer' (Each Other remix) which is laced up with restless acid tweaks and slapping hits that mark for a much darker vibe than the hazy and laidback original.

Review: The first release on this label came - as far we can tell, anyway - all the way back in 2022. Three years on, the second is another effective club weapon, this time with an electro twist. Pop Panic's 'Your Body' has mad heavy drums and maximal synth lines perfect for nice loud plays. This is also the Barceloni producer's second edition to the powered 'Force Bleu' EP series, matched colourfully by the equally propulsive 'Force Rouge' counterpart, for which there have also been two records so far. Increasing in both pace and intensity, this raw and jammy follow-up reaches its crescendo at the rough 15-minute mark with the hypnotic 'EX-ecute (Execution Mix)', which conclusively yields to mesmeric acid and mystical three-tone entrainments, contrasting the first three track's relative utilitarian sense.

Two years on, they return with a new 12" for Endless Flight. They begin with "Institution 01", an alluring blend of weighty acid house bass, loose drum machine rhythms, creepy electronics and fluttering deep house melodies. As you might expect, "Planet 01" sees the duo drag their sound further towards Motor City techno, whilst retaining the snappy drums and wiggling acid lines of Chicago. Closer "Pawnshop 01", meanwhile, is an altogether warmer and hazier proposition, with the winding synth melodies and baked bassline suggestion Balearic inspirations.

The pair really go for it from the off, with anthemic house stomper 'Goes D Jam' offering up squealing 303 and 909s that ring out into the cosmos over crunchy drums. Review: Despite their name, we find that the music of retro technicians Paranoid London offers us a rest from the paranoid mental state that the Great Wen often instils. Now out on a tenth anniversary edition, the duo's raw acid techno debut, released in 2015, heard two Londoners take temporary flight to Chicago, re-imbuing urban smoky techno with a long-lost sense of looseness and grit. Working in relative anonymity, the duo drew praise for their sparse use of original Bernard Sumner vocal lines, affording the record an esteem-by-proxy as well as a sense of turning full circle, as PL's Quinn Whalley actually spent many a pre-teen afternoon in Factory production wizard MArtin Hannet' studio. But it's the record's own minimalism that keeps it satisfyingly repetitive yet never complaisant. PL go their own way, swirling the old school round a ringer road of outer-city grit.

Review: Given their famously militant approach to music formats, it's a surprise to see Paranoid London's previously vinyl-only 2014 debut album finally being issued on CD. For those who missed out first time around, it's well worth checking. As you might expect, it makes great use of both vintage analogue equipment and similarly old skool influences, in turn doffing a cap to Phuture-style Chicago acid, Inner City, hip-house, Green Velvet, Dance Mania style ghetto-house, and stripped-back, dancefloor-friendly machine soul. Despite the ragged nature of some of the material, it's both hugely listenable and hangs together impressively - no mean feat given the DJ-friendly nature of the tracks. It all adds up to a retro-futurist treat.
