  1. Move On Up (3:48)
  2. Give Me Your Love (3:32)
Review: Devon Russell originally recorded his sublime version of the Curtis Mayfield club anthem back in 1984 ultilising his own falsetto vocals to a fantastic soul reggae rendition . Years later in 1993 he subsequently record a whole album of Curtis Mayfield versions for the Darker Than Blue album from which his lesser known version of the killer 'Give Me Your Love' is taken from and incidently first time on a 45. Both tracks here are lovingly remastered for this special Mukatsuku dinked 45 as played /supported by DJ Koco & DJ Muro from Japan...plus Andy Smith & Boca 45 so far...

  1. Ebo Taylor & Uhuru Yenzu - "What Is Life ?"
  2. Pat Thomas - "Gyae Su" (Mpaebo LP version)
Review: Mukatsuku presents the second volume of killer Ghanaian highlife/afrofunk monsters this time focusing on two artists legendary in the genre. First up first time on a 45 from 1980 is '' What Is Life '' from the Ebo Taylor & Uhuru Yenzu album ''Conflict Nkru! ''. Amazing brass, flute and afrocentric rhythms lay the path for the track once heard never forgotten. On the flip first time ever on a 45 Pat Thomas who features on volume 1 of the series comes correct with possibly the best version (and there are a few ) of ''Gyae Su'' . With its jangly african guitar licks and infectious chorus lines the feel good factor is set to maximum. Another dope afro burner on Mukatsuku and sure to sell out fast. 500 hand numbered copies in gold inked stamped sleeve and no repress

Funk/Reediciones
  1. I Can Say (4:49)
  2. Let's Think It Over (3:55)
Review: Two raw afro dance floor bombs from Pat Thomas & Marijjata both taken from the Coming Home: Original Ghanaian Highlife & Afrobeat Classics 1964-1981 issued on Strur Records in 2016 and now presented on one killer hand-numbered 45 on the singles only imprint Mukatsuku .The a side ''I Can Say'' is issued for the very first time on a 45 & is a raucous trip into highlife-funk fusion territory where Thomas' urgent lead vocals and rousing horns rise above a suitably heavyweight groove .On the flip from 76 the powerful brass section of ''Lets Think It Over '' kicks off kicks off the tune with great impact before what essentially is simply an afro soul masterpiece.Pat Thomas shows us once again what a great song writer he is not only with his lyrics but also the dynamic arrangements of the funky groove.Hand -numbered to just 500 units. Once it's gone then its gone !

Flying Fantasy (7" in Juno exclusive hand-stamped kraft paper inner sleeve)
Cat: MUKAT 059. Rel: 19 Aug 19
Broken Beat/Nu Jazz/Nu Soul
  1. Flying Fantasy (exclusive instrumental version) (4:35)
  2. Rhodes E Serenidade (3:37)
Review: Small repress of the Modern Sun Records founder and experienced jazz-wise producer Marc Friedli AKA Skymark. A-side "Flying Fantasy" originally appeared on the Spanish producer's 2016 album "Resistance Sonore", but is here featured in instrumental form for the first time. If anything, it's better than the original version, largely because we get to revel in Friedli's mazy Fender Rhodes solos, rubbery jazz-funk synth bass and loose-limbed, West London style broken beats. You'll find plenty more jaunty jazz-funk vibes and liquid electric piano solos on B-side cut "Rhodes E Serenidade", which first slipped out way back in 2015. DJ Support so far from Dom Servini, Emanative,Red Greg,Kevin Beadle, Mike Chadwick,Dynamite Cuts & Rocafort Records so far
