Notes: The PDI 03 JB Speaker Simulator is a professional passive DI box for guitar amps. Providing a frequency compensated, transformer balanced direct feed to mixing consoles or soundcards it connects between the amplifier output and loudspeaker or equivalent dummy load. The PDI 03 JB has been developed for live, studio and home recording applications to eliminate the need for time consuming mic placement and mic-related problems.

Designed to Joe Bonamassa's high standards for a huge but tightly focused tone the exclusive JB switch brings the output signal to the fore and takes it "right in your face." The PDI 03 JB's dual speaker simulation filters are carefully voiced to authentically replicate the frequency response of classic and contemporary loudspeakers and cabinets. The unit's input sensitivity is adjustable for amps up to 200 watts or line and instrument level equipment.

Delivering consistent guitar tone from show to show the PDI-03 JB can also be used to add realistic speaker flavours to preamps and dirt boxes in direct recording applications. The rugged powder coated steel enclosure features high quality Amphenol connectors and a ground lift to remove hum resulting from earth loops.

For amp DI WITHOUT speakers a dummy load with matching impedance must be connected. We recommend the Palmer Power Attenuator PDI06 and the Palmer Dual Load Box PLB2X8.

Notes: Two-channel isolation transformer (line isolator). Neutrik combination socket input (XLR & jack socket) and XLR output. The PLI02 also has a ground-lift switch. Especially suitable for eliminating ground loops that cause hum. Conversion from unbalanced to balanced is possible. 600 ohm version can handle levels up to +20 dBu.

Professional dual channel line isolating unit for stage and studio use. A unique Neutrik input connector accepts both male XLR and jack plugs. The PLI-02 easily converts unbalanced outputs into balanced ones. It may also be used to transformer balance electronically balanced inputs and outputs.

Notes: Palmer line splitters are used when a signal source must be sent to multiple inputs. For example, when one mixer output is supposed to supply signals to multiple power amplifiers in different rooms. Thanks to the use of generously dimensioned audio frequency transformers, the sound is not influenced, but ground loop hum is prevented. The PLS02 can also be used to convert unbalanced signals into balanced signals and vice versa.

Direct Injection:
Use DI mode when connecting an unbalanced, high impedance source (Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, etc). The signal will be reduced by -20dB (-35dB with pad engaged) and converted to a balanced signal via the transformer connected to the XLR output. Use the gain on your mixer or preamp to bring the signal up to line level.Line Isolator: Use LI mode when connecting your unbalanced, low impedance source (Amp + Cab Sim like the ACS1, keys, etc.). The signal will remain full volume and be converted to a balanced signal via the transformer connected to the XLR output. Less preamp gain will be required in LI mode.

DI or LI?
When deciding between DI or LI, check with the manufacturer of your gear to find the output impedance of the device you are wanting to interface with. For a general guide:High Impedance = anything above 1k = Use DILow Impedance = less than 1k = Use LI.

Troubleshooting:
This is a passive device, so you will not damage anything if connected improperly, but it could affect the signal level and frequency response if not connected properly. This is an easy thing to test since the LI/DI switch is built into Canvas. If you lose high-frequency information when using LI mode, then you should probably be in DI mode.
