Studio mixers
A studio mixer is an essential part of any hardware music setup, allowing you to combine all of your sound sources into a stereo signal.
There’s a lot more to it than just summing sounds, however; a good mixer will allow you to connect any source – instruments, microphones, line-level stereo signals – and most will allow you to process the sound, applying EQ and effects before setting levels and panning sounds into your mix.
