Review: After a blistering first 'Hot Creations Sampler' EP heard an inaugural black-gold palm tree get blown down, with everyone to hear it, now comes a gratifyingly quick follow-up, this time with Steve Bug, Denney, Joshwa, Vintage Culture, Vinter and Hot Since 82 all in tow. No-one misses a kick, with Bug & Denney's opening gambit 'That Beat' locking down a morse bassline against stereo planed beat axis; Hot Since 82 contrasts with the incredibo 'Sonedo', which relays pop dance saxophony a-la Alexandra Stan through a believably ecstatic deep house filter. Second's the best!

Review: Curtea Veche's LTD series returns with a heavyweight collaboration from west coast house pioneers Hipp-E and Halo Varga, better known as H-Foundation. Arno x DJ Dope take things into even deeper territory with their 'Believe In Me Rhythm Dub,' stripping back the original and adding a dubby, percussive twist that's impossible to ignore. On the flip side, 'Journey' takes a more expansive approach. Warm pads and bubbling basslines gradually unfold, inviting the listener into a lush soundscape. Dana Ruh's remix of 'Journey' retains that dreamy vibe but infuses it with her trademark minimalistic touch. It's a subtle yet powerful rework, full of intricate details that will stand out to those paying attention. This EP captures the essence of west coast house, while the remixes ensure it resonates with today's selectors, making it a must-have for DJs looking to bring a bit of history into their sets.

Review: Priku is the acclaimed Romanian DJ and producer also known as Adrian Niculae and here he brings his signature deep, minimalistic soundscapes to the forefront with an exceptional remix of 'Mayon,' the first track of the first EP on the new Menikmati label. Homebase is behind the original which is a deft and intricately assembled minimal sound with thudding kicks and glitchy hits next to ghoulish vocal sounds. 'Layton' shuts down with a more airy mix of heady synths and dusty drum loops that get your head up and your ass moving.

Review: Following their successful Get Closer club nights in Nuremberg, Homebase and Jurgen Kirsch are launching a music label under the same name. The label's mission is clear: to release timeless electronic music on vinyl while returning to the essence of what truly mattersipure, straightforward quality. For their debut release, they've signed two tracks by renowned Pokerflat and 8Bit artist Markus Homm, with remixes crafted by the label founders themselves. All four of these are stripped back and floor-ready minimal and tech fusions with robust low ends and plenty of craft in the sound designs to elevate them above mere fodder.

Review: After a near two-year break, the shadowy CUE Point label - an imprint based in Valencia, Spain - returns to stores. To reintroduce itself, the imprint has decided to offer-up a multi-artist EP featuring cuts from new signings, old heads and friends of the label. Pad Union kicks things off with the deep, dusty and gently jazzy 'Holodnaya Para' - all rich Rhodes chords, languid bass guitar and crunchy drum machine beats - before storied producer ScruScru joins forces with Guydee on the acid-fired, funk bass-propelled house bounce of 'Nesting Down'. Over on side T, Negroove's ghostly, slipped tech-house jam 'Smoked Jazz' (a track blessed with Villalobos-influenced percussion programming) is paired with EP highlight 'Grisha (Soe)', a chunky and organ-rich slab of peak-time tech-house by label regular Heavenchord.
