Review: Foliage Records are an outlet that consistently put out brilliant soulful house and their sophomore release of 2011 is no different. "We Can't Loose" is the striking combination of artist and producer Bandy and the graceful vocals of Adrianne Archie. A flawless partnership, the duo produce contemporary house that drips with soul and tribal essence. Heavy percussion pushes the A Side ever forward, but it's the jazzy keys and deliriously deep bass that give the groove. On the B, Foliage offer an instrumental version, sped up from its original it offers a more rhythmic listening experience. The beat version concentrates on the drums of "We Cant Loose", showing off the percussive patterns on display and again, sails in as a welcome addition.

Review: Deep soulful house record "Crazy" was originally released in the summer of 2010 garnering high critique all round. It's back again in its final stage of evolution, progression and reinterpretation with three new remixes from Manoo & Francois and Charles Webster. Manoo & Francois offer a main and deep mix, each as expertly executed as the other with contrasting styles. The main mix allows the sultry vocals to shine as a Balearic beat moves elegantly behind. "Deep Journey" initially focuses on the percussive and metallic drum rhythms, but slow glittering piano keys come forward to take centre stage, the down trodden lyrical style simply encouraging its beauty. "Crazy" gets a soulful and aurally decadent make over from Webster; poignant, moving and engaging it's a fitting final tribute to the original.

Review: Two long-time dance music mainstays come together here for a lovely new house single. In one corner is deep house don and Freerange boss Jimpster, in the other is American hip-hop DJ and spoken word artist Rich Medina. 'This Thing' is a nice warm house cut with a thoughtful monologue from Medina adding intimacy, while an instrumental mix strips that back to just the musical house beats. Turbojazz & Sean McCabe link up for a remix on the flip that is a little more lively and upbeat but no less smooth and seductive, while Sean & Tommy's Old Skool dub beefs up the bass and layers in some nice late night chords. A tasteful package for sure.

Review: This is a cheeky repress from 2011, but it sounds damn timeless to us. Carrying the same vibes you'll find on an early Morales joint, a turn of the century Grant Nelson number or a mid noughties Yellow-era Bob Sinclar cut, Ziggy's got that classic funky house sound nailed. Well executed vocals, simple but effective elements and, most importantly, a knack for a memorable hook. Remixes see Feliciano extending the swing and groove factor and Fish Go Deep showing the likes of Disclosure how it's done.
