RME ARC USB Advanced Remote Control For All RME Audio Interfaces
Cat: 620638 Rel: 30 May 17

USB remote compatible with all RME interfaces produced since 2001.
Notes: *** Complimentary warranty on this product for 5 years if purchased from Juno- UK warranty only***

Plug'n Play Plus:

The ARC USB connects to your computer via USB, and talks to TotalMix FX directly. It has 15 freely assignable and illuminated buttons, one encoder wheel, and a TS jack to connect a foot switch.

The ARC USB is a USB 1.1 MIDI remote control. Thanks to operating as a UAC 1 class device, it is natively compatible to Windows and Mac OS X. As soon as it is present in the operating system, TotaIMix FX will automatically detect the ARC USB, and communicate with it via simple MIDI remote commands.

TotalMix FX:

Since 2001, TotalMix has added unlimited routing and mixing to RME audio interfaces. Its unique capability to create as many independent submixes as output channels available, turned it into the most flexible and powerful mixer of its kind.

With supported hardware, TotalMix FX includes a complete effects system, which not only adds flexibility to the recording chain, but also makes latency saddled software solutions obsolete.

TotalMix FX can completely replace an external mixer, enabling the creation of multiple latency-free monitor mixes with EQ, Dynamics, Reverb and Delay for any outputs, incl. main monitors and headphone mixes for musicians.

TotalMix FX for iPad App:

TotalMix FX for iPad adds full control over hardware mixer and DSP effects for Fireface UCX, UFX, 802 and Babyface, Babyface Pro when in Class Compliant Mode, and lets you create, store and load complete mixes directly from the iPad.

RME ARC USB Advanced Remote Control For RME Audio Interfaces (anniversary edition)
Cat: 1056958 Rel: 21 Nov 24

Limited edition monitor controller for RME audio interfaces & sound cards
Notes: For the 20th anniversary of the legendary Fireface 800, RME introduces an exclusive special edition ARC USB in a sleek all-black design to complement the limited edition Fireface 802 FS AE.

Overview

This wired remote has been designed for direct access to the most frequently used actions and commands of TotalMix FX, being an indispensable tool in the studio's daily applications. Its extremely flexible configuration through TotalMix FX will simplify workflow and greatly increase the usability of the RME interface in most real-world situations.

The ARC USB is a USB 1.1 (UAC1) MIDI remote control, natively compatible to Windows and Mac OS X. As soon as it is present in the operating system TotaIMix FX will detect it and communicate with it, without disturbing other remote controls. Therefore, it is also not necessary to switch the ARC USB on or off within TotalMix FX - it will just work. And because it communicates with TotalMix FX (via USB) it is compatible to all RME audio interfaces that are detected and supported by TotalMix FX. This goes back to RME interfaces released 2001!

As soon as the ARC USB is connected to a computer any button press or wheel turning will cause the respective action performed by TotalMix FX - and therefore also by the RME audio interface.

With the UFX III and UFX II the ARC USB can also be connected directly to these devices, currently the only RME interfaces having an internal USB 1.1 host with matching connector. This way of connecting is handy in stand-alone mode, where the ARC USB is also supported by the UFX III and UFX II.

The ARC USB is bus powered, but draws only little current. Also, it uses USB 1.1 as bus standard, which these days is uncritical due to its lower frequency and speed demands. USB 2 cables with 5 metre to 10-metre length, and cheap USB 2 cable extensions that usually make a bus-powered interface fail will work perfectly for the ARC USB. Still at higher lengths RME recommends using active USB 2 cables (also called extension or repeater cables), which are not expensive and work over lengths of more than 20 meters.

The ARC USB can control several interfaces simultaneously, which happens automatically as the Key Commands dialog in TotalMix FX is specific to the currently selected audio interface. Just assign only the functions that are desired for each respective interface. After that the ARC USB keys and the encoder wheel remote the respective interface where they have been assigned to, without the need to further switch or select anything in normal operation.

The lower three keys have a useful diagnostic functionality
Talkback: is lit dim as soon as the ARC USB is running on 5 V USB bus power.
Speaker B: is lit dim as soon as a USB communication is possible.
DIM: is lit dim as soon as a communication with TotalMix FX is established.
Therefore, in normal operation all three lower keys are lit dim constantly.

The ARC USB comes with a standard set of Key Commands that already cover most usage scenarios, printed directly beneath the keys:
Row 1 and 2: activating Snapshots 1 to 8.
Row 3: Mono, Volume Phones 1, Volume Phones 2, External Input
Lower keys: Talkback, Speaker B, Dim.

A set of stickers with all currently available TotalMix FX commands is included. These can be used to label all keys reflecting the current user configuration.

The rotary encoder wheel is used to change various parameters, like gain and volume. It is programmable in TotalMix FX as well.

Configuration of the ARC USB

The Advanced Remote Control is configured in the Options menu via the Key Commands dialog of TotalMix FX, tab ARC USB Settings. As the ARC does not have any memory, all configuration and storage is done via TotalMix FX. All settings of the ARC USB are stored within a Workspace, and are therefore identical in all Snapshots of that current Workspace.

More than 36 different commands can be assigned to the 15 keys. The behaviour of each individual button can be changed between push, toggle, enable and disable, depending on the base function.

Current list of available functions:

Global Mute
Global Solo
Mute Group 1 to 4
Solo Group 1 to 4
Fader Group 1 to 4
Link Main AB
Speaker B Select
DIM (Main Out)
Mute (Main Out)
Mute FX (Main Out)

Layout Preset 1 to 8
Volume Main
Volume Phones 1 to 4
Mic Gain 1, Mic Gain 2, Mic Gain 1+2
Inst. Gain 3, Inst. Gain 4, Inst. Gain 3+4
Mic/Inst. Gain 9, Mic/Inst. Gain 10, Mic/Inst. Gain 9+10
Mic/Inst. Gain 11, Mic/Inst. Gain 12, Mic/Inst. Gain 11+12

Some commands are not available at certain interfaces, or slightly changed due to different functionality. Fireface UFX, UFX II and UFX III have additional commands for DURec: Record, Play and Stop.

Several functions can be activated at the same time. Example: Button 1 is set to Cue Phones 1. That means the phones submix is heard via the Main output (the studio monitors). To be able to also change the volume of the phones submix itself, set button 2 to Volume Phones 1. Activating both will allow you to listen to the phones submix via the main output, and also to change its volume (the fader in the third row) by turning the encoder knob.

A standard footswitch (with switch, sustain pedals with pot are not supported) can be connected to the 1/4" TS jack on the left side. In Key Commands Settings the same options are available for the footswitch as for the 15 keys.

Remote control the RME Fireface UFX III, UFX II, UCX II and 802 FS in Stand-Alone Mode

As mentioned above, the RME Fireface 802 FX, UCX II, UFX II and UFX III interfaces all feature a dedicated connection for the ARC USB, with the remote offering an additional level of control when using either device in Stand-Alone Mode.

When used with any of these interfaces standalone, a fixed set of functions is activated on the keys:
Row 1: Setup 1-4
Row 2: Setup 5-6 x x
Row 3: Mono, Volume Phones 1, Volume Phones 2, DIM
Lower keys: DURec: Rec, Play/Pause, Stop
x = no function

The included stickers also offer the stand-alone layout.

In the 802 FS, UCX II, UFX II and UFX III display's menu the way of operating the ARC USB can be configured for standalone mode. Those options are found under SETUP/REV, Options, Hardware/Diagnosis:

Standalone ARC Volume

Deactivates all keys. Only the encoder wheel works, with a fixed assignment to Main Volume. This option is also a safety function in case the ARC USB is connected to the 802 FS / UCX II / UFX II / UFX III, but operated online (with a computer). When the system goes offline (computer removed, sleep state...) the functions on the keys change, because online mode changed to stand-alone mode. Operating the keys then could activate unintended functionality or changes.

Standalone ARC 1 second operation

Each key has to be pressed for one second to activate the programmed functionality. This safety function prevents unintentional changes. It can be stored within the Setups, activating this mode automatically when such a Setup is loaded. When loading a Setup where this function had not been active this mode is automatically deactivated at the interface.

RME Babyface Pro FS Compact Bus-Powered 24-Channel USB 2.0 Audio Interface
Cat: 756566 Rel: 12 Dec 19

24-channel 192 kHz bus-powered professional USB 2.0 audio interface
Notes: High-end interface specialists RME deliver another winner. Amazing sound quality in a compact package, with TotalMix control, ADAT expansion and built-in MIDI interface.

*** Complimentary warranty on this product for 5 years if purchased from Juno- UK warranty only***

Supplier's notes:
Four years ago the Babyface Pro again demonstrated RME's absolute commitment to superior craftsmanship, not only in audio circuits and driver development, but also in mechanics. Created with the highest precision from a block of aluminium, this high-end portable interface incorporated newly designed analogue and digital circuits. Its innovative energy saving technologies provided supreme fidelity with no compromises in level, noise or distortion.
The two headphone outputs, offering TRS and mini-jack sockets in parallel, have completely separate driver stages to perfectly match low and high impedance headphones, guaranteeing pristine sonic results no matter what type of headphone is used.
For the main I/O RME have designed an XLR socket, which integrates seamlessly into the housing and saves space.
Two digitally controlled preamps provide individually switchable 48V phantom power. These circuits feature a gain range of 76 dB, adjustable in steps of 1 dB, including a relay-driven PAD, resulting in exceptional EIN (Equivalent Input Noise) performance as well as line overload protection, and enough gain for even the lowest level microphones.
Babyface Pro's incredibly efficient design almost never requires an external power supply - it's perfectly stable on USB 3 bus power, and also most USB 2 ports, with no degradation in any technical specification. This makes it perfect for mobile recording, even with a pair of your favourite condenser microphones.
The comprehensive feature set continues with an optical TOSLINK I/O; use as either an ADAT port with SMUX support or SPDIF for sessions up to 192 kHz. In combination with an external ADAT converter, the Babyface Pro fully supports 12 analogue inputs as well as 12 outputs, making it ideal for both live and studio multi-track applications. You can plug any instrument, line or high impedance, into Babyface Pro's jack inputs 3 & 4. Record your guitar on the go, with no additional hardware required. MIDI I/O via an included breakout cable completes the package.
In digital audio, the clock frequency is an essential factor, as it creates the correlation between the audio bits and the time reference. Unfortunately, the clock frequency is not always as stable as desired. The Babyface Pro FS offers the full SteadyClock FS circuit as in the ADI-2 Pro FS for lowest jitter and highest jitter immunity. Excellent performance in all clock modes and High Quality Analog Conversion to hear your mix as it is. Digital format conversion in RME products are done without any loss or degradation, and SteadyClock FS ensures your sonic image will never experience degradation. This helps to optimize recordings and mixes because the soundstage has more depth and clarity.
Like all the latest RME interfaces, the Babyface Pro FS also includes the powerful digital real-time mixer TotalMix FX. It allows fully independent routing and mixing of input and playback channels to all physical outputs. Independent stereo submixes plus a comprehensive Control Room section offer unrivalled monitoring capabilities and unsurpassed routing flexibility.
Babyface Pro FS ships with RME's TotalMix FX, available for Windows and Mac OS X. An iOS version is available as well. This amazingly versatile software allows you to use Babyface Pro in any situation. For example, mixing your guitar and vocals to headphones has never been easier. The FPGA-based DSP mixer adds a flexible, 3-band parametric equalizer to all inputs and outputs. Reverb and delay FX are also available.
The FPGA-based DSP mixer adds a flexible, 3-band parametric equalizer to all inputs and outputs. Reverb and delay FX are also available. Latest generation low latency AD/DA converters, combined with RME's unique SteadyClock FS technology, result in exceptional specifications that will satisfy the most demanding of professionals. Combining a huge feature set with sonic excellence and intuitive control, whether for the studio or on the move, the RME Babyface Pro is the most comprehensive and versatile compact audio interface ever built.
Straight to the core without interference: the reference design of the Babyface Pro leaves nothing to be desired. RME devices are designed to conserve music as it is. Audio signals are passed in their entirety, nothing added, nothing taken. For the new Babyface, the audio circuits have been improved to meet even highest gain levels with best dynamic range. The clever user interface is informative and clearly laid out. It makes access to every feature and configuration mode of the Babyface Pro intuitive and easy to use.

RME Digiface USB 66-Channel Bus-Powered USB 2.0 ADAT Audio Interface
Cat: 641232 Rel: 31 Mar 17

66-channel bus-powered USB 2.0 ADAT audio interface
Notes: *** Complimentary warranty on this product for 5 years if purchased from Juno- UK warranty only***

This compact, portable and lightweight audio interface (only 220 g /0.49 lbs) transfers digital audio data in SPDIF and ADAT format to Windows and Mac computers.

The latest Plug and Play technology guarantees a simple installation, even for the inexperienced user. Numerous unique features as well as RME's robust drivers enable a quick, efficient and comfortable operation of the Digiface USB.

The Digiface USB is an extremely compact & portable digital audio interface with 4 optical ADAT / SPDIF I/Os, and an analog high-quality line/phones output via 6.3 mm TRS jack. Continuing the legacy of RME's famous HDSP Digiface, a triple ADAT I/O interface with phones and PCI interface, Digiface USB simplifies connection with USB 2, does not need an external power supply, and even adds another optical I/O, resulting in 32 channels input and output each when using ADAT optical.

The analog output hosts channels 33/34, and can be used freely thanks to TotalMix FX, RME's routing and monitoring solution that knows nearly no limits in routing and mixing (the Digiface USB does not include FX).

Each single optical port can use either ADAT (up to 8 channels) or SPDIF (stereo). While the inputs adapt automatically to the received signal format, the outputs can be individually switched between ADAT and SPDIF operation. Supported are SMUX and SMUX4. Therefore at 192 kHz either 8 channels via 4 x SPDIF or ADAT are possible on both inputs and outputs.

Its small size, weight and bus-powered operation make the Digiface USB extremely versatile and useful. It could even serve as simple headphone amp for mobile use.

Like all the latest RME interfaces, the Digiface USB also includes the powerful digital real-time mixer TotalMix FX. It allows for practically unlimited mixing and routing operations, with all inputs and playback channels simultaneously, to any hardware outputs. The Digiface USB does not have a DSP, so there are no FX available. Still it includes a dedicated Control Room section with Talkback, Main/Phones, fader groups, mute groups, complete remote controllability via Mackie or OSC protocol, and much more.

Here are some typical applications for TotalMix:

- Setting up delay-free submixes (headphone mixes). The Digiface USB allows for up to 17 fully independent stereo submixes. On an analog mixing desk, this would equal 34 Aux sends.
- Unlimited routing of inputs and outputs (free utilisation, patchbay functionality).
- Distributing signals to several outputs at a time. TotalMix offers state-of-the-art splitter and distributor functions.
- Simultaneous playback of different programs via a single stereo output. The ASIO multiclient driver supports the usage of several programs at the same time. When done on different playback channels TotalMix provides the means to mix and monitor these on a single stereo output.
- Mixing of the input signal to the playback signal (complete ASIO Direct Monitoring). RME not only is the pioneer of ADM, but also offers the most complete implementation of the ADM functions.
- Integration of external devices. Use TotalMix to insert external effects devices, be it in the playback or in the record path. Depending on the current application, the functionality equals insert or effects send and effects return, for example as used during real-time monitoring when adding some reverb to the vocals.
- Every single input channel, playback channel and hardware output features a Peak and RMS level meter, calculated in hardware. These level displays are very useful to determine the presence and routing destinations of the audio signals.

RME FireFace UCX II 36-Channel USB 2.0 Audio Interface
Cat: 832380 Rel: 30 Jul 21

40-channel, 192 kHz advanced USB 2.0 audio interface
Notes: *** Complimentary warranty on this product for 5 years if purchased from Juno- UK warranty only***

The Fireface UCX II is a highly integrated pro audio solution in an ultra-compact format. Designed for use in studio and live recording, the UCX II continues RME's tradition of producing powerful and flexible interfaces for the professional audio market, packing the kind of connectivity and features into a half-rack size unit that is often spread over two - or even three - 19 inch panels.

With up to 20 channels recording and 20 channels playback; RME's stellar SteadyClock FS digital clocking technology; high performance microphone inputs; TotalMix FX mixing and routing software (complete with Parametric EQ and Dynamics processing on every channel, plus Echo and Reverb sends); stand-alone hard disk recording to external USB hard drives or pen drives via 'DURec' (Direct USB Recording); MIDI I/O; a powerful headphone output; and full stand-alone operation, the Fireface UCX II excels with the highest feature to space ratio ever from an RME device.

Developed in time to celebrate the company's 25th anniversary, the RME Fireface UCX II represents the culmination and refinement of 25 years of digital audio innovation.

Throughout its 25 year history, RME has been fully committed to a principle of flexibility - the more flexible a product, the more easily it can be adapted to new requirements. For company founder Matthias Carstens, this lies at the heart of RME's success: "The Fireface UCX II makes us proud and enthusiastic as it represents a natural evolution of our product range."

"Boasting up to 20 recording and 20 playback channels, SteadyClock FS, high-performance microphone inputs, built-in parametric EQ, USB direct recording plus full stand-alone functionality, the brand-new Fireface UCX II truly represents the essence of freedom, flexibility, and passion. At present, no existing audio interface offers more connectivity and functionality in a half-rack package."

The Fireface UCX II houses two mic/line preamps in XLR combo configuration on the front panel, along with two digitally controlled line/instrument inputs, followed by a headphone jack, various control buttons, a display, and the main volume knob. At the rear is a set of ten analogue balanced line inputs and outputs, MIDI I/O, ADAT I/O, AES/EBU and SPDIF I/O, USB 2.0 as well as a switchable word clock I/O.

The RME Fireface UCX II is the first half-rack interface from RME to feature RME's Direct USB Recording (DURec) functionality. Previously only found on RME's Fireface UFX, UFX II and UFX+, any of the Fireface UCX II's input or output channels can be recorded directly to a USB storage device - in any combination, up to and including all 40 channels simultaneously - via the dedicated USB port found on the back panel of the device.

Powered by the integrated DSP, DURec also enables the Fireface UCX II to be used for standalone recording and playback (i.e. without the need for a computer). Suggested applications include creating instantaneous backups of studio, live and rehearsal recording - acting as a fail-safe against a computer hardware failure - as well as for strand-alone field recording, or for use in virtual soundchecks (using DURec for playback of a previous night's live show recording).

The Fireface UCX II also features a Class Compliant / Plug 'n' Play mode, enabling the interface to be used for high-quality, mulit-track recording with an Apple iPad, and providing iPad users with a full set of professional analogue I/O connections.

Additionally, the optional TotalMix FX for iPad app adds full control over the TotalMix hardware mixer, giving users the ability to create, store and load complete mixes directly from the iPad.

Most audio interfaces are traditionally designed with what is called 'AC-coupled outputs', where capacitors are used to filter out any extreme low frequencies.

Whilst these frequencies are generally considered undesirable for audio - eating into headroom and potentially causing damage to other equipment - one instance where DC-coupling remains desirable is the world of modular synthesizers, where static or slow-moving signals are used for control over various parameters such as pitch note values or LFOs.

All of the Fireface UCX II's line-level outputs are fully DC-coupled, allowing for the sending of control voltages (CV) or Gate information to modular synthesizers (such as the popular Eurorack and Moog/MOTM/Synthesizers.com formats) and other studio hardware.
