Felipe Gordon returns to Sweden's Local Talk with a fluid and deeply expressive live session-nine tracks cut with an eight-piece band that glide between jazz-funk, fusion, and house, laced with Bogota flair. 'Wes' sets the tone: sun-licked guitar licks, Rhodes keys and rimshots opening out into a laid-back funk strut. 'Strings Of The Afterlife' and 'The Colombian Excursions Of House Music' bring signature Gordon textures into fuller, warmer form-gorgeously arranged yet dancefloor-conscious. Vocalist Paula Pera adds soulful phrasing to the swirling 'The Semi Modular Bird Of Jazz' and a bold, disco-fired cover of 'Gipsy Woman', backed by Bob The Egoist. Elsewhere, 'Socorro Y Jupiter' leans into jazz-fusion psychedelia, and 'Highly Deep And Conductive' stretches toward broken beat territory. It's one of Gordon's most expansive and musically rich projects yet.
