There's no messing with the likes of Paul Johnson when he's fired up for Dance Mania, and with DJ Lil Tal alongside him this fresh slab of wares on the newly invigorated Chicago institution looks primed to set parties ablaze the world over. "Mandrake" packs in a fiery set of horn blasts and funk licks with no less than peak time consumption in mind, while "Find A Love" ramps up the Philly string hits and a deeper kind of funk as the fuel for this house burner. On the flip "Jack That Ass" gets more mechanical, letting the boxes do the talking without dipping on energy for a modern update on the kind of rude techno forever to be associated with Dance Mania. "Energy" makes a return to disco sampling for a more heady kind of body worker.
