Notes: The Chromaplane is an instrument created in collaboration between KOMA Elektronik & Passepartout Duo.

The Chromaplane is played using two electromagnetic pickup coils, that are moved over its surface to listen to a cloud of electromagnetic fields produced by the instrument.These ten fields are represented by small indicators on the instrument's surface.

The Chromaplane is fully polyphonic, meaning that all ten of the instrument's analogue square wave oscillators are always sounding - this makes the instrument ideal for both sculpting complex drones, and playing agile melodies. Each field can be tuned using its corresponding adjustment screw. The oscillators are additionally organized into three rows, each with a switch that drops that row's pitch one octave.

The timbre of the Chromaplane can be further shaped using its internal VCF, a 4-pole low pass filter that darkens the instrument's sound and is also modulated by the internal audio signal, allowing for rich harmonic sounds and timbres reminiscent of frequency modulation. A lo-fi delay/echo effect with CV controlled time adds a sense of ambiance and rhythmicity to the dry signal's output.

The Chromaplane also features an external audio input, allowing the player to route other sounds to one electromagnetic field on the instrument's surface. The instrument's envelope output can also be used to modulate parameters on the instrument, or on other hardware synthesizers.

Notes: Artemis is a unique analogue polysynth with a UI inspired by Dreadbox's award-winning Typhon synthesizer. It builds on Typhon's innovative concepts, adding six voices of polyphony, powerful modulation capabilities, stereo FX, voice spreading, and much more!

From classic polysynth tones to aggressive modern sounds and everything in between, Artemis has a wealth of raw synthesis and modulation capabilities to explore.

At its core, Artemis features a fully analogue architecture, based on the smart oscillator implementation found in both the Typhon and the Murmux Adept, allowing effortless transitions between multiple waveforms, mix settings, glide, FM, and more.

These VCOs are paired with Dreadbox's signature filter topology, offering classic 12dB or 24dB per octave low-pass modes, as well as a standalone resonant high-pass filter. The low-pass filter includes dedicated filter frequency FM control for dialling in edgier, modern tones.

Two multi-mode LFOs enhance the modulation possibilities: LFO 1 offers a unique fade-in parameter, while LFO 2 includes XMOD (cross-modulation) control for chaotic, brash textures. Each LFO has multiple waveforms and can modulate pitch, filter cutoff, VCO waveform, pulse width, and more.

This analogue powerhouse is complemented by a suite of world-class FX from Sinevibes, who previously collaborated with Dreadbox on Typhon's FX. With reverb, delay, modulation effects, master distortion, and more, Artemis delivers an extra dimension to your sounds.

Notes: Flux brings forth the musicality and expression of classical instruments, such as violin or vocals, enriched by new timbres and the flexibility of postmodern instruments, harnessing the power of current technology. It is a high end professional synthesizer with unique expressive possibilities, an innovative interface design with top quality digital-to-analog converters and analog components.

Flux features a unique continual touchless keyboard that offers seamless control over a number of sound parameters without quantisation. In many ways, it is inspired by the Theremin, offering the unique opportunity of controlling sound by moving your hands in the air without touching any object.

Unlike the Theremin - which works by virtue of the capacitive coupling of hands and antennae - Flux is based on magnetic principles. Two magnetic bows are pressed between your fingers, and the interface is a multipolar magnetic sensor, registering the bows' positions and movements. The X coordinate of the artist's right-hand bow controls the note's pitch, while the Z coordinate controls volume. The left-hand bow's X, Y and Z coordinates control the various synthesis parameters. Since a magnet has two poles, Flux not only detects the bows' spatial coordinates, but also the bows' angle. This means that flipping the right-hand bow on the Y-axis changes the octave, which allows a range of six continuous octaves without transposing the keyboard. With transposition you can get a range from sub-bass all the way to ultrasonic. The left-right tilting of the right-hand bow on the X-axis controls two independent modulation parameters.

The left-hand bow controls the timbres. The timbral sensor, placed in the left part, has six poles, and independently registers positive and negative magnetic fields. This lets you change which parameters you control by flipping the bow, allowing you to control up to twelve independent sound parameters. Together with the pitch, volume and two additional tilt parameters on the right-hand bow, you have access to a total of sixteen sonic controls that you can use during performance, without ever touching the surface of the instrument.

Summing up the concept of Flux: the most direct and immediate way to play with a large number of synthesis parameters in a musical way, creating a dynamic timbre composition. Different synthesis algorithms (engines) will be created as complete musical instruments for direct timbral control. All engines will be available in a single firmware and any engine can be launched in a fraction of a second. Presets will allow the user to save and recall the entire state of the synth including engine and all tunings.

SoMa Laboratory developed Flux with the aim to create a modern instrument for academic music, offering powerful sonic tools such as distortion, complex FM and physical modelling of non-existent, surrealistic musical instruments. It works in monophonic, duophonic and polyphonic modes. Staccato-enabling and quantisation modes are available. The quantization function has an adjustment parameter for vibrato. Flux has a stable, even, and clearly marked note scale. This makes it much easier to learn and to intone cleanly than on the Theremin.

Flux's synthesis is DSP-based. It features built-in spatial FX. The digital-to-analog converters and the analog circuit are based on our in-house designs using Hi-End principles

Notes: Xena is a rework of the legendary Mutable Instruments Ambika DIY synthesiser. Now fully machine assembled with an updated layout and an improved modern power supply. Available with all original 3 voice cards and compatible with 3rd part operating systems as well as a new AS3109 (modern reissue of the original Roland filter chip) filter

Filter Options:

The device is available with the original 3 Mutable voice cards (more will be added later one). Mixing voice cards is possible but not recommended.

SMR Filter: This filter uses the same topology as the Shruthi SMR4mkII. It is a low pass 4 pole OTA-C filter. Its is a smooth "Roland-ish" type filter.
4P Filter: This filter uses the same core as the Shruhti 4-Pole Mission but only offers the LP4 output. The 4P filter is perhaps a a bit fuzzier than the SMR type.
SVF Filter: This filter board features a 2-pole state variable filter with low-pass, band-pass and high-pass modes. It is half of the Shruthi SVF Filter.

Sequences are created and saved on the fly. You can create a sequence and then save it to a bank while it's playing. Sequences are monophonic and can be up to 128 notes long. Individual steps in a sequence can be of different note lengths, and gate lengths. Like an arpeggiator the sequence length expands as notes are added. You can link melodic sequences together, add rest notes, and delete notes all in real time. Attach the advanced sequencing overlay and scrub through your sequence to delete or insert notes, add slides, and adjust swing to create the exact melody in your head.

A monophonic virtual analog synthesizer. Turn the voice knob to cycle through 24 different synth patches and adjust shape, attack, and portamento. A one octave keyboard from low C to a high B is where you'll play the notes to create your own melodic sequences. Turn the octave knob to shift the pitch of the keyboard up and down to play any note you want. Notes may also be input using an external MIDI controller. In transpose mode the currently playing sequence can be shifted up and down by either selecting a note from the built in one octave keyboard, a whole octave by turning the octave knob or by playing a note on an external MIDI controller. The melody will be shifted up by the number of steps the selected key is away from the low C.

Arpeggio is an amazing instrument all on its own, but its expansive I/O makes it a powerful companion for your other electronic instruments. Add an arpeggiator to any synth. Connect a larger external MIDI keyboard and record a full chord's worth of notes into arpeggio instantly. Expand your sonic palette by using it as a sequencer to control other synthesizers and sound modules. The Arpeggiator Overlay gives you an insane amount of control over custom arp styles. Start by mixing and matching any two of the base note orders (or just pick one): Up, Down, Sequence, Reverse, and Random. Then apply and combine separate modifiers to each like Inside Out, Skip Forward, Alternating First, Zig Zag, and more. Each arp style can also have an Arpeggiator Rhythm of up to 16-steps. The result of all this is that literally millions of unique arp styles are possible.

The Sequencer Overlay lets you go through each note of your saved sequences and change the pitch or octave, add slide notes where you want, adjust swing, and note probability. Here you can also customize global settings and create sequence frequency patterns to add sections of silence before or after your melodies.

Notes: The world first heard the instantly recognizable sounds of the Mellotron on hits from the Moody Blues ("Nights in White Satin") and the Beatles ("Strawberry Fields Forever") in the 1960s. In 2010, Mellotron reintroduced the iconic tape-based machine in a compact digital version, the Mellotron M4000D, that retains the authentic sound, look and feel of the original keyboard while adding some significant improvements.

Notes: The Mellotron Micro is the smallest version available of the Digital Mellotron, and includes many of the features of the full-size version. It includes one hundred 24-bit uncompressed sounds sourced from original first-generation Mellotron and Chamberlin tape libraries. Sound Card 01 is the built-in library for the Micro and M4000D series of instruments.

To update your Micro Rev 2, please use the Mellotron Updater app (iOS only). This update process uses Bluetooth and takes less than 1 minute. The Rev 2 Micro is the revision without the SD slot in the back. This is not supported by the Android app.

On the Rev 1 the SD slot is between the MIDI jacks and the Phones jack. The Rev 1 needs to be updated with an SD card.

Notes: The M4000D Mini Mellotron was developed to meet the needs of keyboardists who want an even smaller and lighter Digital Mellotron. The Mini is also designed to fit perfectly on top of the regular M4000D to make a great looking dual manual Mellotron. Instead of the M4000D's wooden keyboard, it includes a high-quality, semi-weighted Fatar piano-style keyboard with velocity sensitivity, and mono aftertouch.
