Elektrotechnik - "Hard Symphony" (5:20)
Review: Cosmic Tribe is back with six more cutting-edge tracks that push the boundaries of electro while honouring its core principles on the superb XTRICTLY ELEKTRO Vol. 2. In showcasing forward-thinking sound design and global talents, this compilation affirms Cosmic Tribe's dedication to rhythmic experimentation and genre-defining precision. EC13 opens with his retro-futurist, cinematic style, while Spectrums Data Forces injects technical flair from southern Spain. Lyon's Atix delivers decades of club-driven expertise, and on the flip, Calagad 13 dives deep with a bass-heavy introspection, Final Dream (aka Phil Klein) brings epic UK grit, and Elektrotechnik closes with an industrial punch. A great window into electro's ever-evolving power.

Review: Facta's latest for Wisdom Teeth opens with 'Jets', a low-slung, sub-sloshed throb that's quietly become a DJ favourite-Ben UFO has spun it as an opener multiple times and you can hear why. It's bouncy, tactile and disorienting in just the right measure, setting the tone for a seven-track suite that finds the Londoner weaving through dubby techno, cheeky minimal and post-step psychedelia with that recognisably prismatic touch. 'On Deck' pivots into springy broken house, full of teasing builds and frayed edges, while 'Bunt' pairs heavy-limbed bass pressure with pointillist vocal chops. There's a skittishness to the palette that recalls his most textural club material, but these tracks feel leaner, more distilled-sonic matter reshaped mid-air. Even in the most playful moments, like the bleepy funk of 'Swish', there's an undercurrent of tonal oddness that keeps things slippery. 'Fang' and 'Snooze Alarm' slow the pulse, tracing soft arcs across rhythm and dissonance. As ever with Facta, genre markers are melted down into a coherent sonic vocabulary, full of negative space, strange hooks and glistening decay.

Burning Moonlight (2:59)
Love Is (3:37)
Three Kinsmen Bold (3:28)
She Moved Thru’ The Fair (2:29)
Review: Recorded during the final year of her life, this posthumous release finds Marianne Faithfull looking both backwards and forwards - reconciling the weight of legacy with the intimacy of reflection. Across these four new tracks, she honours the dual foundations of her 60-year career: chamber pop and traditional British folk. 'Burning Moonlight', co-produced with long-time collaborator Head, echoes the melancholic grandeur of 'As Tears Go By', while 'Love Is (Head version)', written with her grandson Oscar Dunbar, floats with tender defiance. The flip side turns to lineage and tradition: 'Three Kinsmen Bold' is stark and ancestral, passed down from her father and 'She Moved Thru' The Fair' is sparse, aching, and spectral. Faithfull was born in Hampstead and came of age in 60s London, and here, on what is now her final release, she returns to the very start - not out of nostalgia, but with grace and resolve. It's the completion of a circle, yes, but it still leaves a faint line trailing off into the air.

Magic (6:57)
Precious Lies (5:11)
Magic (Dave Mathmos remix) (6:20)
Review: With the long-awaited reissue of 'Magic', the trilogy of Celso Valli's early '80s Eyes Records productions is finally complete as it joins 'Future State' and 'Blue Gas' under his Five Sinners alias. Best Record caps off this Italo-disco journey from the legendary Bologna-based composer who was known for hiding behind numerous pseudonyms to separate his commercial dancefloor work from more "serious" music. Once obscure, 'Magic' and 'Precious Lies' emerge from the shadows and sound as fresh as ever. This reissue includes a stunning new remix of 'Magic 'by Dave Mathmos, confirming it as a great slice of Italian disco history.

Review: Dookuzot is the entrancing debut from Floid & W92 aka Woody92, and it's released on their own Omen Wapta imprint. Across eight tracks, they craft a labyrinthine soundscape full of shadowy textures, tribal rhythms and eerie, dissonant tones that feels both ancient and futuristic-an ambient-techno blend that channels family history into sonic myth-making. Standout 'Maushe' hints at dancefloor tension, while 'Veriyou' is seriously deep and heady as part of what is a haunting, high-definition journey through imagined realms and moody post-human worlds.

Review: Froid Dub return to the dubbing fold full of cold sang-froid with new one 'Tears Maker Chant'. The landmark 50th release for the label and editorial Ransom Note, this new progeny of Paris duo Stephane and Francois, known both for their own distinctive productions and self-released Delodio label curations, offer a stripped-back, slow-smouldering blunderbuss of bass-heavy minimalia with the sliest of sly nods to Italo disco on the B, creating what they call "low-slung mood music. Measured, murky, magnetic. It's a debut outing on Ransom Note for the duo, and a sharp alignment with the label's taste for genre-blurring system oddities.

Review: Hungarian electronic music producer Laurine Frost's Cabaret Nord lands as the debut release on Spanish label Andermedt, and it's nothing short of a radical statement. A vault of unreleased material over five years in the making, it's a return to Frost's 4/4 roots but filtered through his signature lens of dark mysticism and surreal funk. Earth-shaking drums, warped grooves and grotesque theatrics unfold like a ritualistic performance in each track as he twists techno cliches into something deeply personal. As such Cabaret Nord blurs lines between satire and sincerity, rhythm and poetry. It's not comedy-it's an avant-garde theatre of sound and a mind-bending triumph that demands immersive listening.

Review: Seemingly unable to rest on any of their laurels for long, and already returning just a year on from 2024's noise-rock indebted sixth full-length Coagulated Bliss, ever-prolific grindcore stalwarts Full Of Hell are back with the ferocious Broken Sword, Rotten Shield EP. Featuring notably cleaner production than ever heard prior, the material pays homage to classic death metal motifs whilst eschewing the Melvins worship of their previous outing, with cataclysmic blasbeats and face-metling guitar solos underpinning vocalist Dylan Waker's inhuman shrieks and bellows. Commenting on the retro-style artwork featuring what can best be described as a "dog knight", Walker elaborates - "The dog knights represent these pure defenders against a world of darkness and the feeling of utter grief and defeat when we lose these companions. Along side that metaphor, the song also explains that in this world, all living things are rendered equal in the end, and for some that's a mighty fall."

You Are All The World Of Hero (3:18)
Review: Montreal producer Jesse Futerman returns a refined sound that has carefully developed since the early 2010s. With past support from BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music champions like Gilles Peterson and Benji B and collaborations with the legendary Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Futerman is a real contemporary favourite. These four cuts blend swinging vocals and organic live drums with introspective downbeat bliss outs like 'Velvet Glove' and 'The Case of The Lost and Found' marries the sort of life-affirming piano lines and persuasive Balearic grooves that will light up more mature parties. 'You Are All The World Of Hero' is a delicate dub with fluttering percussion and hand drums lending it great intimacy.

Review: Belgian label Music Man Records has assembled Boccaccio Life 1987-1993, a 40-track compilation honouring the legendary Destelbergen club that helped shape Europe's electronic underground. Far more than just the birthplace of New Beat, Boccaccio championed raw, futuristic house and techno long before the genres went mainstream. Curated by resident DJ Olivier Pieters and regular Stefaan Vandenberghe, the collection features classy cuts that are also being served up on a series of VA EPs. This one hits hard with jams from QX-1, Fred Brown, Mr. Fingers and Laurent X all going dark, deep and moody.

Review: "Instead of escaping somewhere else, this time I want to be here." We're not 100% sure if that's Fabiano or E35 Netherlands quoted, and woe betide anyone who thinks they can interpret such cryptic (not to mention borrowed) quips without asking the person who said them what they meant. Nevertheless, Landmarks very quickly presents itself as an ambient beauty born of this planet and nowhere else. At times the sounds are challenging - heavily textured tracks rather than the lush dreamscapes we often associate with the rather reductive 'ambient' label. Sometimes things are quite eerie, like the disquiet that materialises around halfway through 'Flowers On The Hospital Grounds', and the dense static waves of 'Saturated Memory On A Rooftop'. At other moments, tones invoke the mystery of night skies over Earth, or the rhythm of a world filled with enough life to mean we're still finding new species today.

Review: Brent Faiyaz's second full-length LP appears as the sprawling, kinematic follow-up to 2020's Fuck The World, emerging from that LP's nihilistic wastes to find a new drift between self-reflexion and regret. Wasteland pulls from a two-year span of scattered sessions across New York, LA, Atlanta and the Bahamas, capturing a disjointed, post-pandemic headspace Faiyaz calls "a life process". Woven with voice-note skits and late-night confessions, it runs 19 tracks deep, where high-gloss collabs with Drake, Tyler, The Creator, Alicia Keys and DJ Dahi help fuel tracks like 'Dead Man Walking' and 'Gravity', which keep the lid sealed shut, over moods of resigned cool and existential drift. The LP's narrative spine, - stitched by exec producer Jonathan "Freeze" Wells - confronts fractured relationships, unwanted fame, and the moral collapse of America.

Review: Popstock's latest Fall retrospective Singles Live Vol One 1978-81 captures Smith and his mighty co. in their rawest, fuzz-worthy phase. Whether it's the discordant organ furzes of 'It's The New Thing' or the snarled highway punk of '2nd Dark Age', this one's a great distillation of the Fall's sound at a select interval. Culled almost exclusively from the period spanning their Live At The Witch Trials era to the brink of the Hex Enduction Hour, the album compiles ferocious stage renditions of early singles, delivered by a revolving door of members as usual. Yet it was also born from frustration with how other Fall archival material has been handled, and how more recent lineups have been emphasised and represented as immutable over and above classic, yet more unusual suspects. Steered by ex-Fall members Paul and Steve Hanley, Marc Riley and Craig Scanlon, Popstock exists as a corrective, revisiting a pivotal moment with a twist.

Review: After a decade since his last release on Planet Mu, Drew Lustman aka American rhythmic innovator and vibes man FaltyDL returns with the accomplished Neurotica. In the interim, he's run Blueberry Records, worked with Mykki Blanco and become a father. His daughter's playful influence is said to have ignited a fresh creative energy in his music. Neurotica bears that out - it's a sugar-rush of high-speed bounce blending energetic euro-pop and childlike vocals into something urgent and fun. Drew crafted it quickly, with tracks written in half a day, and shaped with Planet Mu boss Mike Paradinas' guidance. It's a joyful, refreshing album that resonates across generations and captures the essence of fun, movement and simplicity. A return to form, for sure.

We Fought For This Country? (2:00)
Review: Backdrops of engineered silence and societal distraction inform on this from Fatboi Sharif and Driveby, twin rap verbalisers from the hinterzones of New Jersey. Let Me Out confronts the fractured psyche of a world numbed by noise: a raw, unfiltered dispatch from the underbelly, where six-figure illusions swing pendularly over mirrored truths, and suppressed rage simmers beneath manufactured calm. Tracked at 2ndststudios and shaped by the precision of Steel Tipped Dove, the record is sharpened further by the eerie co-production of DJ Boogaveli on 'We Fought for this Country!?' and haunting backing vocals from Paul Keim on 'Krossroads'. From milk-and-oil confusion to the cracked prayers of trauma survivors, each track on this grittily sculpted noise rap record erodes our psychic Achilles' heels, through emotional debris and soul static.

Review: The Loneliest Punk was Fatlip's debut solo album and was originally released in 2005. It now returns on vinyl as it has remained a cult classic that captures the Pharcyde MC at his most raw and introspective. Produced by J-Swift of Bizarre Ride II and Squeak E. Clean, the album fuses quirky hip-hop drum patterns with sharp lyricism and features standout collaborations with Chali 2na from Jurassic 5 and the late Shock G aka Humpty Hump. Long out of print, this latest reissue revives a hidden gem of underground hip-hop that deserves as much spotlight as it gets.
