Review: Arther Baker's Dance Masters series continues, as the spotlight turns to another remix legend: one of the originators of the form, John Luongo. Regarded as one of the most influential DJs and mixers of his day, Luongo's many credits include remixes of Jackie Moore's 'This Time Baby', 'Vertigo / Relight My Fire' by Dan Hartman and Patti Labelle's 'Music Is My Way Of Life'. Luongo also went on to establish a production career in his own right, and his legacy is more than cemented here on this retrospective comp from Demon. This box set compiles his most striking tracks in a sixc LP compilation, as well as: a 16-page booklet; an in-depth essay from Alexis Petridis; a foreword by Arthur Baker and a rare photo album from Luongo's personal collection.

Review: Ella Fitzgerald, the First Lady of Song, and legendary jazz guitarist Joe Pass reunited for their second duet album, Fitzgerald & Pass... Again, originally released in 1976. This collaboration has become a jazz classic, with Fitzgerald winning the 1977 Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album for her performance. Review: With a streak of hits reaching back to the early 90s, chart-topping Brit funk phenomenon Jamiroquai have plenty to celebrate. In 2006 they decided to remind everyone how much heat they've gifted to the world with High Times, a definitive overview of the singles that thrust them onto prime time radio and beyond. Review: 30 years ago in August, Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery aka Janes Addiction put out their second album. It proved the most critically acclaimed and successful of all their work and in fact was their last for 13 years. Few other alternative rock albums have ever come close to the impact of the one. Fact fans will know, of course, the original record came with three different covers, and might also have read that the tortuous recording process behind the album is what eventually lead to the group's demise.

Given a co-sign by the always on-point BBE and IF Music founder Jean-Claude, the label is now enjoying a retrospective compilation which seeks to celebrate the best of their golden years. Featuring performances by John Stubblefield, Bobby Hutcherson, Harold Land, Don Cherry, Cecil McBee and Pharoah Sanders collaborator Marvin Hannibal Peterson to name but a few, this collection provides a great jumping-off point for Enja's rich and diverse back catalogue. It may only be an introduction to a vast pool of music, but it's curated with authority by a dedicated head, so you know you're getting a shortcut to the best the label has to offer.

Review: Released in 2000, Poison is the third studio album by Swedish singer-songwriter Jay-Jay Johanson, having earned his place as a stalwart figure thanks to his melancholic vocals set to perspirant trip hop. From 'Believe in Us' to 'Colder,' not to mention the toxicologist's favourite 'Poison,' we're met again with Johanson's signature downtempos and experientially charged lyrics. Sophisticated atmospherics abound, bridging the all-to-intimate gap between sexuality and the unknown.

Review: Initially available solely on tape cassette in 1975, this album has undergone meticulous remastering and is now offered for the first time as a download and on a limited edition double album. This release marks John Taylor's third venture as a bandleader, succeeding his debut, 'Pause, And Think Again,' issued by Turtle Records in 1971. The sextet lineup features Stan Sulzmann, Kenny Wheeler, Chris Pyne, Chris Laurence, and Tony Levin, with Norma Winstone contributing her vocals on the debut.

Review: Old school RuneScape players will love these nostalgic remixes by London producer Pizza Hotline who has a fine rep' for crafting video game-inspired drum & bass and jungle riddims. Here, beloved RuneScape tracks get reimagined to blend classic vibes with modern twists and the first up 'Garden' embraces a traditional style, while the iconic 'Sea Shanty 2' transforms into a minimal d&b banger.
