Give your module a facelift

These replacement faceplates are designed for use with the module in the traditional orientation with the screen on top. These are the same faceplates used when manufacturing our modules, but now in black. They are anodized aluminium with a bead blasted finish.

Swapping out a faceplate is easy to do, and requires a small wrench or pliers. Here are the steps to replace a faceplate:

Remove the module from the rack.
Use a small wrench or pliers to remove the small round nuts around each of the mini jacks. Note that these nuts have a notch on the top side of them. This notch fits into a specialized tool that can be used to remove these nuts more easily.
Gently tug on the four knobs to pull them off.
Use a small wrench or pliers to remove the hex nuts from the knob stems.
Remove the washers from the knob stems.
Gently pull up on the faceplate and it will slide off easily.
Place the new faceplate on the module.
Replace the washers on the knob stems.
Use a small wrench or pliers to replace the hex nuts on the knob stems.
Use a small wrench or pliers to replace the small round nuts around each of the mini jacks. Note that the notch should be on the top side of the nuts, the side away from the faceplate.
Look at the underside of the knobs and the post that they rest on. You will see that the knobs are keyed. Line up the flat edge of the hole in the knob with the flat edge of the post, and then push the knob onto the post. If you have the knob aligned properly, it should go on with moderate pressure. If it seems to require more force, please check the alignment.

Notes: Especially when adding new modules to your AE modular system, it's recommended to check the status of the supply voltage. When too many modules are supplied by one MASTER or POWER module, the supply voltage can drop too low below 5 volts; this can cause some issues like oscillators losing the tracking/calibration, digital modules can show some malfunction and so on.

To make the voltage check convenient, you can use the VOLTAGE TESTER: You can plug it either into a free socket on the bus cable, or via the included adapter, to the extension header at the front/rear side of the case. Then, 5 LEDs show the supply voltage, either green for "ok" (supply voltage is in the range of 4.9 - 5.1 volts), or other colours for too high or too low voltage in steps of 0.1 volts.

Notes: O/O is a tri-use touch patching implement for banana jack modular systems.

1. AllFlesh style expressive touch patching using your body and hands as patch cables between two (or many more) points in your system. Unlike AllFlesh for 3.5mm systems O/O allows for stacking of other cables.

2. Traditional shorting bar.

3. Touchable shorting bar configuration for systems which accept this standard (ie. Buchla Music Easel). Touch in tandem with other singular plug style configurations.

The two different kit choices will supply you with parts for10 single touch points or 5 touchable shorting bars plus 5 touch points. Similar to AllFlesh, these touch points will attenuate voltages through the skin. Each person's skin will have a different amount of attenuation over voltage. Using one hand to touch two points is less attenuation than using two hands to bridge connection. Different modules and systems will also respond differently to touch patching. Results are guaranteed to vary between person to person and system to system.

Soldering along the edges of where the plug meets the plate can be helpful for increased continuity. The tips of the plugs have a collar that can spin around it (egg beater like shape pictured above), if you would like to decrease the touch plate's ability to move from side to side add a small amount of solder to the tip bridging the gap between the spinning collar and tip.

Same as with the standard cases, via a joint kit (not included) another case of this width (either one-row or two-row, standard or wooden type) can be attached at a free angle; the bus is connected via a short connector cable between both cases.

The sides, front and back are made of real-wood veneer covered MDF.

Please note: This rack does not include the Master or Power module. To connect the case to power you have the following options:

Connect the case to your system via the Hinge Kit 1 or 2 (only for cases newer than 2019)
Connect the case to your system via the Racklink Module (works for all cases)
Install the Master Module
Install the Power Module

Whichever option you decide on, you will also need to order and install 2x Bus Cables, but be careful to order the correct size! Standard Bus Cable for Standard Case size, etc.

This AC Power Adapter comes with a locking DC extension cable. The connector of the DC extension cable screws down to the DC jack, preventing noise interference when the cable is bumped.

There are two voltage options:
12V: used with original 5A Power Supply and newer Five Amp Power.
19V: used with Deluxe Power, Super Power, Case Power Mini and Case Power.
Note: If you are replacing a power brick on a Synthrotek power supply, use the same voltage as was originally sent (unless the brick is 15V, then change to it to 19V).

Comes with a 3-prong power cable, which will work in the US and some other countries. If you are in Europe, etc. you can get a separate volex connector that will work in your country. We don't carry international connecting cables, but you can find them easily on the web.
