Review: The Buddha Bar series is one of the most enduring in all of dance music. It made famous the bars of the same name which started in Paris and are now found throughout the world, all with a signature soundtrack of gentle downtempo, jazzy house and stylish Balearic. French label Wagram attempt to pull together some of the very best bits from the very many cosmos over the years onto this one triple pack. And they do a fine job too with nice horizontal sounds from Ravin, Carlos Campos & David Visan, Consoul Training & Pink Noisy and Panjabi Hit Squad amongst many more, all with a nice worldly feel and cocktail-sipping atmosphere.

Review: First put out back in 2007, Soundz of Freedom is a landmark album in Bob Sinclar's discography. The French man has long been a towering figure in the world of house music with many chart hits and a DJ diary that takes him on endless trips around the globe. This album helped get him there and is now being reissued for the first time as a double vinyl. It has already been certified gold and features collaborations with renowned stars such as Axwell, Tocadisco, Ron Carroll, Jamie Lewis and Mousse T. Between them they explore plenty of accessible house sounds from deep to vocal to Afro-leaning and they have all aged well enough to still do a job to this day.

Review: French label Wagram is a real powerhouse when it comes to putting together authoritative compilations. They have done them in all manner of sonic words from soul to disco to techno and pop. Next up is a new volume of their ongoing Africanism series which is led by Bob Sinclar and features, among others, Olivia De Lanzac, DJ Gregory, Nark & Baker, Martin Solveig and Nick Chatelain & Danny Chatelain. It is house music coloured with a wide world of influences from the sub-continent with funk, soul and Afro all making for a colourful collection of hits from across several sub-scenes.

Review: Wagram's always comprehensive compilation series is back with another deep dive into a specific sound, and this time it is French touch aka the Gallic take on early house that is in the spotlight. Plenty of the early pioneers feature like Bob Sinclar, DJ Gregory, Saint Germain and Tour-Maubourg, but so do some more recent explorers of that sound, namely Folamour whose gorgeously sampled and gospel-tinged opener 'Ya Just Need 2 Believe In Yaself' is an early highlight here. Add in some other favourites like DJ Deep's 'Learn 2 Love' and De Pompidou's 'Can't Be With You' and you have a great overview of this popular house sub-genre.

Review: Flashback 80s is a nostalgic trip to the decade of synth-pop, dance and new wave. The compilation features 12 iconic songs from artists like Imagination, Bronski Beat, Kylie Minogue and Sabrina. Whether you want to groove to 'Just An Illusion', sing along to the classic 'Venus' or relive 'One Night In Bangkok', this album has something for everyone who loves the magical era. Released by Wagram Music, this fabulous collection is part of a series that spans music from the 50s to the 90s. A must-have for retro fans.

Review: We are mightily impressed by the work that the Wagram label has been going of late. In the last few months they have rolled out a seemingly unending number of compilations all with a very different focus. There has been techno, house, hip-hop, soul, funk and many more niches in between. This time they look to Miami funk on a collection of tunes subtitled Funk Gems From Henry Stone Records, which tells you all you need to know. Milton Wright, George and Gwen McCrae, The Jimmy Castor Bunch and many more touchstones of this sound all feature on an uplifting, well assembled and essential comp.

Review: It seems like we write about a great new compilation from French powerhouses Wagram every week. This is the latest and it takes aim at trip hop which is the niche sub-genre to emerge from the shadows of hip-hop, firstly in Bristol. This is an unashamed collection of what the label thinks are the biggest tunes and most classic joints from across the years all on one triple vinyl set. Some unpredictable inclusions are the likes of Radiohead's otherworldly hymn 'Everything In Its Right Place' amongst standouts like Snooze's 'The Chase' (Revisited By Fila Brazilia).

Review: For this album, Wagram France invited various artists from the jazz scene to pay tribute to the legendary band Pink Floyd by interpreting some of their most famous tunes in whatever style they see fit. All the bands biggest singles are taken on from 'Money' to 'Another Brick In The Wall' via 'Wish You Were Here' and 'Us and Them.' They all sound very different with lively keys dancing over jazzy drums on 'Money', folk style vocals from Bird On A Wire and lush harmonies and heavenly vocals from David Neerman on his version of 'Us & Them.' All in all, a fine tribute indeed.

Review: The Wagram label loves putting together a good compilation and that's what they do here with a focus on drum & bass. In particular and early on, they opt for a rather sweet and soulful sound, a deep take on the green with liquid grooves and warm, glowing pads next to angelic vocals. Plenty of the names you would expect appear from Goldie with a stone-cold classic to Nookie and Kid Loco. There are more edgy jungle vibes later on from Soulja, steppers from Roni Size & Reprazent and raga styles from Congo Natty Presents Conquering Lion.

Review: French label Wagram is a go-to when it comes to quality compilations that take a broad look at certain sounds and scenes, and this one is an on-going series that focuses on house sounds with an Afro undertone. The grooves are lively and often come with plenty of percussion. The drums hit hard but with funk, the vocals are Afro-centric and plenty of irresistible hits come thick and fast from the jazzy tribal swagger of 'Imbalaye' to the big steel drum party sounds of 'Viet Dao' (Klement Bonelli & Yann DL remix). Another great collection of colourful Afro house sounds.
