Review: The Frightnrs are a modern take on classic reggae, rocksteady and dancehall. With a core lineup consisting of Chuck Patel, Rich Terrana, and Preet Patel, the trio have constructed a wilfully lo-fi, convincingly raw pair of reggae tidbits here. 'You Still' and 'Tuesday' sound like they're already lifted from a vinyl record and are now being played on a beaten-up gramophone; to re-translate this sonic content back onto vinyl is an interesting exercise in metasonics. Echoic vocals ponder, "could it be love, I've found?", as swirling Hammond organs and dub delays abound.
