Review: Dark Entries welcome back the inimitable Doc Sleep aka Melissa Maristuen for a superb new album of ghostly and ethereal house and techno. This is a welcome follow-up to last year's ambient and IDM exploration, Birds, and shows another side that draws on Maristuen's years of queer clubbing. It fuses aspects of New York house, Berlin techno and West-coast breakbeats and is "a love letter to the West Coast's magnificent natural landscape, the light of the Pacific sunrise." That is reflected in the sublime synths and silky rhythms which manage to both move your body but also captivate your mind. It's another cracking album from the Doc.

Review: Belfast’s Space Dimension Controller returns with six glistening slow-burners that nod to Warp’s early 90s Artificial Intelligence era while gently warping the coordinates. There’s a subtlety in the programming: ‘Infinite Image’ drifts with a low-lit acid bassline and glassy synth layers, while ‘Variation Five’ hints at the woozy futurism of B12 or Spacetime Continuum. ‘The Mirror Dome’ and ‘Chemical Glass’ are deeper still—built less for peak-time than post-club recalibration, hovering somewhere between ambient techno and dream-sequence electro. Even the percussive flickers of ‘Reflect Itself’ feel fluid, while closer ‘Island Eye’ stretches out like mist. Not nostalgic, not entirely new—just rich, soft-focus electronics executed with typical finesse.
