Presonus Eris Studio 4 Active 4.5" High-Definition Near Field Studio Monitor (single) *** DISCOUNTED PRICE UNTIL 31st MARCH 2025 *** (B-STOCK)
Cat: 1086600 Rel: 01 Jan 90

B-STOCK: Box opened, product in perfect working order
Notes: ***B-STOCK: Box opened, product in perfect working order***

The Eris Studio 4 sets a new standard for compact studio monitors. With its surprising amount of low-end and a wide, well-controlled sweet spot, you can enjoy premium, accurate monitoring in even the smallest of mixing spaces. Designed for superior performance in both home studios and small professional mix rooms, the Eris Studio 4 combines flexible connectivity with sonic accuracy that puts it a class all its own.

The custom-designed EBM (Elliptical Boundary Modeled) waveguide provides superior high-frequency response that allows you to hear the finest details in your mix, while a wide 100-degree horizontal dispersion creates a broad sweet spot with lifelike stereo imaging. Narrow vertical dispersion reduces reflections from your desk, and a silk-dome tweeter ensures snappy, accurate transient reproduction.

The 4.5-inch, woven-composite, low-frequency driver produces tight, clear bass with plenty of punch that defies the Eris Studio 4's space-saving size. The ported enclosure and 50W of biamped power combine to maximize bass response and allow the Eris Studio 4 to reach down to an astonishing 55 Hz - without a subwoofer!

Flexible input options let you connect almost any line-level source, from mixers to audio interfaces and more. You'll have no problem hooking Eris speakers up to virtually anything.

Features

4.5-inch, woven-composite, low-frequency transducer
1-inch (25 mm), ultra-low-mass, silk-dome, high-frequency transducer
100-(H) x 60-(V) EBM waveguide for wide sweet spot
Front-firing acoustic port for superior bass-frequency reproduction and optimized, resonance-suppressing internal bracing
50W, Class AB biamplification
55 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response
100 dB SPL (Peak, @ 1 meter)
Acoustic Tuning controls: HF (+/-6 dB, continuously variable); Midrange (+/-6 dB, continuously variable), and Acoustic Space (flat, -2, -4 dB), plus highpass filter (Off, 80 Hz, 100 Hz)
RF interference, output-current limiting, over-temperature, transient, subsonic protection and amplifier "soft start" feature (eliminates popping on power-up)
Internal power supply with IEC connector and power switch with on/off LED
Balanced XLR and 14-inch inputs and unbalanced RCA inputs

Set up your studio monitors for your room.

Erisr Studio 4 active monitors are equipped with Acoustic Tuning controls to ensure the flattest response in your mix environment. You get Low Cut, Mid, and High controls, as well as three-way Acoustic Space tuning that makes it easy to compensate for the boundary bass boost that occurs when a speaker is placed too close to a wall.

Honest. Expressive. Powerful.

Like all PreSonusr studio monitors, the Erisr Studio 4 offers consistent, accurate listening. Their stylish design makes them a welcome addition to any mix space, and their smooth, incredibly even frequency response ensures that your mixes will sound great everywhere.

Review: American saxophone player and composer Clifford Jordan's 1990s Maple Shade Records albums are well thought of for their high-quality ideas. This release features a 1987 live quartet performance from a Baltimore jazz club in which Jordan delivers a mature, lyrical and swinging set encompassing standards like 'Round Midnight' and 'Don't Get Around Much Anymore' alongside his original compositions. The recording was meticulously captured with minimal microphones and high-quality cables so it achieves remarkable realism while blurring the line between live performance and studio recording. This is a definitive glimpse into Jordan's artistry at the height of his career.

Review: Between The Sheets gets a special 30th Anniversary remaster here. The celebrated 1993 album by smooth jazz group Fourplay, featuring Bob James on piano, Lee Ritenour on guitar, Nathan East on bass and vocals, and Harvey Mason on drums) is a hallmark of smooth jazz greatness that earned gold certification and charted at No. 2 on Billboard's Top Jazz Albums and No. 15 on Top R&B Albums. Known for tracks like the Isley Brothers' remake 'Between The Sheets' with Chaka Khan, and the lively 'Amoroso,' it also includes Bob James' elegant 'Chant.' This anniversary edition comes on 180g double vinyl, remastered from original tapes, with a gatefold sleeve and new liner notes by Charles Waring.

Review: Norwegian trumpeter Arve Henriksen and Dutch pianist Harmen Fraanje strike a fine balance on their latest collaborative jazz record Touch Of Time. Warm and tender throughout, this is a back-alleyed melanchole, with its stark counterpoints between piano and trumpet somehow eliciting the audio-sensation of more instrumentation than there is - a gestalt of ghosts. Gradients of emotion wax and wane like the strange blue lights that are often visible when one's eyes are closed. Produced by Manfred Eicher at the Auditorio Stelio Molo in Lugano, this is fine recording indeed.

Review: To mark their 40th anniversary, Hugo Largo is releasing a comprehensive collection that takes in their entire studio output, namely the albums Drum from 1988 and Mettle from 1989, as well as a full album of previously unreleased and live recordings titled Hugo Largo Unreleased and Live 1984-1991. These albums, which have long been out of print, are now being reissued with special essays from R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, who produced Drum, as well as contributions from Brian Eno and band member Tim Sommer. This complete collection celebrates the band's influential experimental sound and shows why they had such a lasting impact on the alternative scene.

Review: Newly, radically reimagined remixes created from John Lennon's classic song, Mind Games. These nine Meditation Mixes craft their own space while maintaining firm and authentic roots in John Lennon's original recording. Each have been radically altered, slowed down and extended, ranging from five to ten to over 33 minutes, allowing the soundtrack to wash over the listener and provide a relaxing deep listening experience. Four tracks are presented as binaural versions which each focus on different types of brain waves: Beta, Delta, Gamma and Theta. Named 'Mind', 'Space', 'Spirit' and 'Love', these exploit the response of the ear to left and right frequencies, which constructively combine to produce a new frequency, which in turn, as they say, activates beneficial brain patterns. Produced by Sean Lennon, these contemporary Lennon versions aim to positively impact the contemporary anxiety-racked listener, whose appetite for deep listening has only understandably increased in recent years.

Review: Mrcy, the duo of producer Barney Lister and vocalist Kojo Degraft-Johnson, fuse soulful self-expression with a modern sensibility. Drawing from their distinct backgrounds, they blend Marvin Gaye's warmth with the genre-defying sounds of Anderson .Paak. First connecting over Instagram during the pandemic, their music reflects both individual perspectives and shared experiences. Debut single 'Lorelei' captures this essence, with their upcoming project, 'volume 1', offering a mix of commanding vocals, empathy, and compassion. Mrcy's music is a personal yet universal exploration of soul, grit and the magic of everyday life.

Review: Orbital remain titans of the global electronic scene which is no doubt why their self-titled album from 1991 now gets mastered and reissued for this year's Record Store Day. A pioneering work in electronic music, this landmark debut is a rich world of driving drums, hypnotic melodies, and intricate soundscapes. From the propulsive energy of the seminal 'Chime' to the dreamy ambience of 'Belfast,' each track showcases the duo's mastery of rhythm and texture. Orbital's use of innovative sampling techniques and atmospheric synths creates a distinct sonic universe that still stands them apart and helps make this a timeless classic that has influenced generations of electronic artists ever since.

Review: The Ramones had long reshaped the world of music in their beautifully twisted image by the time they recorded this, their second live album, in Spain in 1991. But the New York punks were seemingly addicted to playing live, touring relentlessly throughout the 80s and 90s, and their tightly drilled act is at fever pitch here, careering through an incredible 32 'blink and you'll miss them' tracks across four sides of vinyl. A handful of covers - there's a blistering version of The Trashmen's early rock 'n' roll stormer 'Surfin' Bird', for instance - nestle alongside timeless originals such as 'I Wanna Be Sedated', 'Beat On The Brat' and 'Sheena Is A Punk Rocker', with a healthy selection of deeper cuts from the late 80s here too. Top mayhem.

Portables: A Visual & Historical Exploration Of 222 Vintage Portable Turntables by Eilon Paz
Cat: 1038353 Rel: 18 Nov 24

A 470-page hardcover book featuring highly detailed photos and comprehensive research on 222 portable vinyl record players
Notes: A 470-page hardcover book featuring highly detailed photos and comprehensive research on 222 portable vinyl record players.

Once considered little more than a children's plaything or a grade school accessory, the portable record player has gained newfound respect in recent years. Whatever they may lack in high-end audio fidelity, battery-powered turntables more than make up for it with their convenience and ease of use. Just ask any crate digger: a cult favourite portable like the Columbia GP-3 or the Audio-Technica Sound Burger (or even the Fisher-Price Big Bird model) can be an absolutely essential companion on an all-day vinyl hunt.

Portables features lavish, detailed photos of 222 portable turntables from around the world, including rare record players from Japan, the UK, Germany and the Soviet Union as well as the USA, and ranging in vintage from the 1920s to the early twenty-first century. They're all gorgeously captured here by photographer Eilon Paz, with accompanying commentary from music historian Dan Epstein.

Whether you're a hardcore turntable collector, an aficionado of cool vintage audio gear, a student of industrial design, or a vinyl lover curious about the wild world of portable record players, Portables will make your head spin-and will soon have you scouring thrift stores, antique malls, and even your grandma's attic for the portable record player of your dreams.
