Burning Moonlight (2:59)
Love Is (3:37)
Three Kinsmen Bold (3:28)
She Moved Thru’ The Fair (2:29)
Review: Recorded during the final year of her life, this posthumous release finds Marianne Faithfull looking both backwards and forwards - reconciling the weight of legacy with the intimacy of reflection. Across these four new tracks, she honours the dual foundations of her 60-year career: chamber pop and traditional British folk. 'Burning Moonlight', co-produced with long-time collaborator Head, echoes the melancholic grandeur of 'As Tears Go By', while 'Love Is (Head version)', written with her grandson Oscar Dunbar, floats with tender defiance. The flip side turns to lineage and tradition: 'Three Kinsmen Bold' is stark and ancestral, passed down from her father and 'She Moved Thru' The Fair' is sparse, aching, and spectral. Faithfull was born in Hampstead and came of age in 60s London, and here, on what is now her final release, she returns to the very start - not out of nostalgia, but with grace and resolve. It's the completion of a circle, yes, but it still leaves a faint line trailing off into the air.

What A Time (2:52)
92 (3:18)
Million (3:19)
IRL (3:25)
Finish Line (3:11)
Review: Applying what we're all thinking in February 2021 to a kind of Netflix & Chill parody, Fickle Friends are definitely the most thematically fitting band of the month. The Brighton outfit join a long and esteemed list of British pop groups that manage to marry scathing, sarcasm, and bare-boned honesty with sweetness, beauty and universality. Providing you like those keyboards with a No.1-style glitter coating, of course.

Opening on biggest of the lot, 'What A Time', the troupe opt to get the most inescapably positive out of the way first before rolling out real variety. '92' is an icy cool, emotionally scarred (or scarring?) ballad, 'Million' is a stepping, rave-rock workout, with 'IRL' apparently made for sunnier times than the current UK winter, and finale 'Finish Line' closing out on a calming and uplifting tone that's not a million miles away from what some would describe as Balearic chill.

Nous Continuerons A Marcher Ensemble (2:26)
Tu M'as Mise A Genoux (1:48)
Review: Fleur is a firm favourite with fans and now teases the new upcoming album with a new 7" single that is going to resonate well with fans of acts like The Kinks, Holly Golightly and The Remains. The A-side, 'Nous Continuerons a Marcher Ensemble' kicks off with a sharp guitar riff and builds into a catchy, powerful chorus. The B-side, an exclusive to this 7", is 'Tu M'as Mise a Genoux' a fast-paced punk track driven by fuzz bass. Both of them are superb retro indie-pop bangers and have been penned by Mark ten Hoor of The Kryng, and he also recorded the backing tracks for this release.

Funky Dollar Bill (3:04)
Funky Dollar Bill (instrumental) (3:39)
Review: 51 years have now passed since Funkadelic dropped their first two albums, Funkadelic and Free Your Mind and Your Ass Will Follow. The latter album's numerous highlights included 'Funky Dollar Bill', a flash-fried funk-rock masterpiece that's as bonkers as it is low-slung and floor friendly. This anniversary edition of the song, which was released as part of a double A-side single in 1971, combines the pioneering Detroit crew's original vocal version (side A), with a never-before-heard instrumental take from the original recording sessions (B). This is particularly revelatory, as it offers a chance to hear everything that was going on below George Clinton's singing - and trust us, that's a lot! It's genuinely refreshing to hear an alternate take on a such a fantastic funk-rock gem, so we'd recommend giving it a listen.

Review: Nelly Furtado has been making a notable comeback, and her latest single, 'Love Bites,' is an example of her enduring talent. Co-written with Tove Lo and SG Lewis, who also produced the track, this new release is a sultry dance anthem. Furtado explains that her return to music was inspired by the DJ community remixing her songs, reigniting her passion for creating danceable, escapist tunes. 'Love Bites' channels the vibrant energy of dance floors and live DJ sets, offering listeners an irresistible escape. The collaboration adds a contemporary edge, making this single a standout. Now available on 7" vinyl, 'Love Bites' is eager to embrace the joy and freedom of dance music once again while getting much play on the dancefloors.

Review: John Peel remains the most legendary broadcaster of his generation, and the very many special live shows he was part of with some of the era's most acclaimed artists are widely heralded by fans and critics alike. One of them came in 1971 when the Faces played five songs for a live radio concert that are, on this first section of broadcast material, combined with music from a couple of appearances on Top Of The Pops on the BBC. The set shows real variety with a big and hard cover of '(I Know) I'm Losing You' next to Ronnie Lane's solo acoustic version of 'Richmond'. This LP includes full sleeve notes and recording details.

The album's homage to bygone eras is evident and the execution does a brilliant job of capturing the spirit of its inspirations. Tracks like 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This' and 'Mouth to Mouth' highlight Faith's vocal prowess and occasional emotional depth. The album's more upbeat numbers, provide the energy needed to balance out the more soulful songs and ballads. Overall, A Perfect Contradiction offers a nostalgic look at retro styles. Review: A four-CD career retrospective of Motorhead's iconic guitarist, coupled with a 320-page book, is set for release via BMG. Authoured by veteran rock journalist Kris Needs, in collaboration with Clarke's widow Mariko Fujiwara, the book provides a detailed account of Clarke's life and career. The narrative begins with Clarke's formative years, from his early musical inspirations to his significant collaborations, including recording with Curtis Knight. The story delves into his pivotal years with Motorhead (1976-1982), the formation of Fastway, and his solo endeavours. Personal insights from Mariko and Clarke's close friends enrich the biography, offering a look into his life beyond the stage. The CDs include The Early Years, featuring tracks from Zeus, Continuous Performance, and the Muggers. Motorhead Era, highlighting hits like 'Ace Of Spades,' unreleased demos and Eddie's work with Girlschool, Fastway, which showcases the band's evolution with demos, remixes, and tracks from eight albums and the Solo Years, focusing on his solo albums and collaborations. Stories don't come much more comprehensive than this.

Review: The debut album from The Ferguson Rogers Process dropped late last year and finally makes its way to vinyl via Impressed Recordings. Following their debut single 'Live Together' and an early Melbourne show, Tim Rogers and Lance Ferguson's Substance And Or Style is a smart take on hip-hop with tunes like 'Dirty-Clean', which leans further into their disco influences and captures the glitter-in-the-gutter mindset behind the project. With Rogers urging listeners to dive in and embrace the mess, he reminds us that 'the sink is your shrink', encouraging a no-holds-barred approach to getting things done.

Review: The double gatefold edition of The Best Of Bryan Ferry offers a comprehensive look at the artist's illustrious career, with the 20 tracks including two brand-new recordings, the arrival of 'Star' marking Ferry's first new music in over a decade. The compilation opens with the classic 'A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall' and 'These Foolish Things,' setting a reflective tone, before the covers of 'The 'In' Crowd' and the timeless 'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes' proving to be great additions from Ferry's early work. 'Casanova' and 'Let's Stick Together' highlight his evolution into a dynamic solo performer, then side-2 includes 'Slave To Love,' a global hit from the mid-80s, and 'Don't Stop The Dance,' blending Ferry's signature style with new wave influences. LP2 continues with another chart success in 'Kiss And Tell,' and 'Your Painted Smile,' a gem from the underrated Mamouna in 1994. 'I Put A Spell On You' stands out as a testament to Ferry's mastery of covers, while 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door' runs with that amazing talent. The set closes with 'You Can Dance' and 'Johnny And Mary,' encapsulating the breadth of Ferry's career and providing a nuanced view of his musical journey. This compilation offers as much of brilliant career as possible into a 2x12 retrospect while being unique in the additions spanning his career plus the debut of a couple new songs. The king of suave is still making it happen more than 50 years after Roxy Music took pop music by storm.

It also includes a new version of 'Let's Fall in Love for the Night' entitled 'Let's Fall in Love for the Night (1964)' and 2018 single 'Break My Heart Again.' The album rather underperformed at first but has since grown in popularity with its contemporary pop production and Finneas's accessible lyrics resonating with fans old and new. 'I Lost a Friend' is a strong electropop ballad with minimal bass guitar, piano and drums under layered harmonies and is archetypal of this record's sound.

They released a brace of brilliant albums - the self-titled debut in 1985, then a year later Mean Business - and played across the UK and US in the years after. One of the best shows they did was at the Oakland Coliseum on 15th March. Their extraordinary energy and fine set list was recorded for live FM Radio Broadcast and now you can listen back to the whole thing on vinyl for the first time ever.

Review: A total departure from her last album Magdalene, Grammy-nominated British multidisciplinary artist FKA Twigs is firing on all cylinders on Eusexua. The slogan "Eusexua is a practice. Eusexua is a state of being. Eusexua is the pinnacle of human existence" can be found everywhere online and in London right now, even sprayed onto the pavement in places - what Eusexua actually is though is anyone's guess, which is half the fun I suppose. While 2019's Magdalene was a heartwrenching collection of string-led ballads covering extremely morbid topics, with the sensational and fun 'Caprisongs' in 2022 bridging the five year gap, Eusexua is going all in on techno sensibilities, helmed by Koreless, Two Shell and a host of other high-class beatmakers. The title track, released in tandem with a teaser for 'Drums of Death', is an Opus III style trance/techno slow-burn that erupts into a thumping bassline towards the hindlegs of the song. Twigs seems to be styling herself predominantly after Kirsty Hawkshaw during the 'Mind Fruit' era, both in the bold choices of hair and going so far as to cover 'It's A Fine Day' at a Vogue Word event. Garnering a cultlike status, Eusexua is a blend of eclectic influences with the finest talent at hand working on it, tied together with Twigs' personal experiences living in Prague and falling in love with an underground techno scene without borders. The only question remaining, really, is what does Eusexua mean to you?

Review: It's rare that an artist is able to craft a sound so unique that it feels like it's pulling from a completely different world. FKA twigs does just that on this release, where the beats are dark and hypnotic, underscored by her ethereal voice that somehow cuts through with precision. There's a cinematic quality to the production, a sense of space that makes each moment feel significant. It's both jarring and beautiful, her experimental approach pushing boundaries without ever feeling out of place.

Review: FKA twigs delivers Eusexua, her latest and hotly anticipated new album, and the latest to follow 2022's Caprisongs. A strong and determined directional shift away from Caprisongs' cutesy sensibility (we see it as no surprise that her last album was released under Atlantis, while Eusexua comes via home slices on her home turf, Young), Eusexua hears the artist formerly known as twigs take up a futuristic grey, suited, officiated and incorporated style, informed by a roundabout notion of "eusexua", her own coinage: "a feeling of momentary transcendence often evoked by art, music, sex, and unity." Themes of disconnected embodiment run rampant throughout the album, showing no signs of ambivalence where others might flinch in the face of greyness or techno-uniformity. Twigs' vision reclaims abundant but still currently dubious themes of hard work, grist and prosthesis, and as ever resounds in palates of glistening, glossy mecha-r&b, inheriting Bjorkish chameleonics and contrasting said spikiness with no less impassioned tales of her enjoying the underground techno scene in Prague, among other sources of inspiration.

Review: No matter your age, you are likely to be a fan of Fleetwood Mac's self-titled and legendary album from 1975. It was their tenth album and second eponymous work after their 1968 debut and is often known by fans as The White Album. The lineup was the first to feature Lindsey Buckingham as guitarist and Stevie Nicks as a vocalist, with Bob Welch having left in 1974. The album hit the numbering spot on the Billboard 200 and gave rise to three top-twenty singles 'Over My Head', 'Rhiannon', and 'Say You Love Me.' This reissue comes on limited edition heavyweight vinyl.

Review: When this was recorded at the Record Plant, San Francisco on 1December 15, 1974, Fleetwood Mac were in a state of flux. They were led by singer-songwriters Bob Welch and Christine McVie, but Welch was poised to leave and be replaced by Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. Welch's stint in the band was brief and the five studio albums he's on are overlooked compared with their imperial phase that was on its way with the next line-up, but he's not to be slept on. The band were laid back but grittier with him in it. He's a slick, cool singer and a mind-blowing guitarist. This live set, which spans early classics and more recent favourites, makes it plain to see just how good he was.

Review: By the time Fleetwood Mac put out their self-titled 1975 album, a lot had happened to the band. Landing seven years after their first eponymous record - how's that for breaking the rules? - this is the first LP to feature Lindsey Buckingham as guitarist and Stevie Nicks as a vocalist, Bob Welch having left a year earlier when the pack relocated to California, ushering in their tenth lineup in eight years. Although arriving to somewhat muted response critics lauded the release even if the public wasn't exactly gushing, and time has shown where the truth really lies. Rolling Stone, among other publications, ranks the LP among the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, with the three Top 20 singles - 'Over My Head', 'Rhiannon', and 'Say You Love Me' - now among the Mac's most treasured. A soft rock landmark

Review: Rhino Records delivers a vibrant reissue of Fleetwood Mac's daring double-album, Tusk (1979), now available exclusively on 180g Transparent Light Green 2LP vinyl. This genre-defying masterpiece exemplifies the band's willingness to explore new territories. Lindsey Buckingham's intricate arrangements and diverse influences infuse the album with elements of pop, rock, new wave, and disco. Stevie Nicks shines with powerful vocals on standout tracks like the emotive ballad 'Sara' and the anthemic title track. While initially compared to the monumental success of Rumours, Tusk has since garnered a dedicated following for its boldness and artistic depth. Achieving Platinum certification and topping the UK charts, this reissue celebrates the album's enduring legacy and cements its status as a cult classic.

This version still has a great balance of lesser known tracks with classics like 'The Chain,' and the haunting 'Gold Dust Woman.' The second disk breaks even more classics with 'Hold Me, and 'Songbird'. The Best of Fleetwood Mac (1969-1974) compiles highlights from their early years with Reprise Records and features tracks from seven albums-Then Play On (1969), Kiln House (1970), Future Games (1971), Bare Trees (1972), Penguin (1973), Mystery to Me (1973), and Heroes Are Hard to Find (1974. This collection includes hits like 'Oh Well - Pt. 1' and 'The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown)' and so reflects the band's evolving lineup and showcases contributions from nearly every member of the era with extra info from James McNair's liner notes.

Review: Florence Welch's globe-straddlingly successful epic-pop project has made its name largely through no-holds-barred emotion and rapturous melodrama, and although this third album has largely been trumpeted as a return to a more stripped-down and less over-the-top approach, long-term fans of the couture-clad siren needn't worry too much. 'How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful' remains true to her heart-on-sleeve approach and the cinematic splendour she's made her trademark. Crucially, even beneath the orchestral arrangements and the life-or-death vocal declamations, the songs on this record shone through as memorable and emotive enough to withstand the level of ornamentation around them, and fit to have Florence's fearsome pipes send them skyward.

Review: Foghat are an English rock band formed in 1971 in London. The band are known for their blues-based hard rock sound and their hit songs 'Slow Ride' and 'Fool for the City' which are both featured here. Slow Ride: Live In Concert gives us undistilled Foghat, recorded and filmed live in Texas in 1999, just before Dave Peverett's death in 2000 at the age of 56. The power and drive of these classic songs come ringing through and are a celebration of Foghat's vision and talent, many years since the band exploded onto the world in 1970. Pressed on orange marbled vinyl., this is a must have for fans of the band considering the time of when the concert date was in the band's history.

Review: Despite Dave Grohl's position in the rock firmament, the man rarely seems content to rest on his laurels, and this is proven once again by the mission he and the band embarked on to come up with Sonic Highways, their eighth album proper. Travelling around America to simultaneously record this album and create the HBO documentary series based on the musical history and local scenes of eight cities, he took inspiration from those he interviewed - from Dolly Parton to Bad Brains - to craft an album rich with the passion that first compelled him to play music. The result is the most life-affirming Foo Fighters record in well over a decade - explosive, melodious and fierily idealistic, it's a modern rock masterclass.

Review: Double Vision, Foreigner's second album, solidified the band's place in rock history with its perfect blend of catchy hooks, driving riffs and powerful vocals. Building on the success of their debut, Double Vision pushed the band to new heights, selling over seven million copies in the U.S. alone. The album opens with the fiery 'Hot Blooded', a high-energy anthem that's become a staple of classic rock, thanks to its blistering guitar riff and Lou Gramm's commanding performance. Tracks like 'Blue Morning, Blue Day' and 'You're All I Am' showcase the band's ability to deliver emotion with grandeur, drawing comparisons to Queen's theatricality. The title track, 'Double Vision', is a rock gem, with unforgettable lyrics and production that packs a punch. Though front-loaded with its strongest hits, the second half offers unerrated tracks like the instrumental 'Tramontane' and the soulful 'I Have Waited So Long'. Double Vision proves Foreigner's talent in creating rock anthems that stand the test of time, creating one of the most legendary rock albums of the late 70s.

Review: Foreigner's 1981 album 4 is a masterclass in soft rock excellence, and its reissue on vinyl reaffirms its status as a classic still. The album, known for its impeccable production and iconic tracks, catches Foreigner at the peak of their powers. From the high-octane opener 'Night Life' to the anthemic 'Juke Box Hero,' the band delivers a blend of powerful rock and emotional balladry that remains timeless. 'Waiting for a Girl Like You' stands out as one of the greatest power ballads ever, with its atmospheric sound and Lou Gramm's silky vocals. 'Urgent,' another highlight, exells with its tight interplay between Mick Jones' guitar and the unforgettable saxophone solo, while 'I'm Gonna Win' and 'Woman in Black' exemplify the band's ability to craft songs full of determination and soul. Each track on 4 feels meticulously crafted, with infectious melodies and hooks that have resonated with audiences for decades. The vinyl reissue brings a warmth and depth to the recording that enhances the listening experience, making still stand out as an iconic rock album that no yacht should be without.

Review: Arena rock heroes Foreigner crushed with their 1977 self-titled album debut, spawning some of the biggest FM hits of that year, including the anthemic 'Feels Like the First Time' and 'Cold as Ice,' both of which were anchored - like most of Foreigner's songs - by the muscular but traditional riffing of guitarist Mick Jones, the soaring vocals of Lou Gramm, and the state-of-the-art rock production values of the day. The architect behind Foreigner's extraordinary catalog, Jones has crafted some of rock music's most enduring songs. After starting his own rock band and opening for the Rolling Stones in pubs across South London, his first big break came in 1964 when he moved to Paris and was hired to play with French singer Sylvie Vartan. After a brief stint in England to reform the band Spooky Tooth, Jones moved to New York and formed Foreigner with Ian McDonald and Dennis Elliott and Americans Lou Gram, Alan Greenwood and Ed Gagliardi. Foreigner defined a generation of rock music to people across the globe; now on 180-gram 45 RPM double LP, you can hear Foreigner in all its phenomenal glory.

Review: Foreigner's upcoming compilation, Turning Back the Time, is a nostalgic journey through the band's illustrious career, featuring 18 tracks that span their greatest hits and an exciting new addition. The compilation, timed to coincide with the band's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, includes classics like 'Feels Like the First Time', 'Cold As Ice' and 'Juke Box Hero,' showing the band's signature blend of rock and melodic strength. The jam packed collection also features a special surprise with the previously unreleased track 'Turning Back the Time'. This fresh cut, co-written by Mick Jones and Marti Frederiksen, is a reflective ode that looks back on the journey of growing up and the impact of music. With a vibrant melody and heartfelt lyrics, it resonates deeply, especially in light of Jones' recent health challenges. Also featured are timeless hits like 'Hot Blooded' and 'I Want to Know What Love Is', alongside lesser-known gems like 'Girl on the Moon'. Overall, a worthy collection that can be otherwise called a greatest hits album.

Review: Admirable reissue imprint Comb & Razor Sound continues to unearth, license and re-print lesser-known gems from around the world. Their latest find is Fire Woman, the incredibly rare third album from little-known nine-piece Foundars 15. Interestingly, the album's tracks are not straight-up Afro-funk or Afro-beat workouts. Instead, they various take in Cymande style reggae/soul fusion, psychedelic '60s style pop, wild funk rock/Afrobeat fusion, Hammond-laden torch songs, and skewed Afro-jazz. It's a curious but hugely entertaining hotch-potch of styles that makes for hugely enjoyable listening from start to finish. Highlights include fuzzy, solo-laden closer "Ekele", the anthem-like "Simin Boogie" and Fela Kuti-ish "True Light".

Review: Four Year Strong has released their sixth album and first in four years, Analysis Paralysis, on Pure Noise Records. Produced by Will Putney, the album emerged from a creative struggle, with Dan O'Connor and Alan Day seeking inspiration in Putney's home studio. The result is a bold expansion of their signature pop-punk and hardcore sound, now incorporating industrial synths and raw reggae elements. This adventurous blend showcases the band's growth while remaining unmistakably true to their roots. The lead single, 'Uncooked,' exemplifies this evolution with its blend of hardcore intensity and 90s guitar work, delivering a chorus that's perfect for both mosh pits and headbanging sessions. Following 2020's Brain Pain, which took a more considered approach, Analysis Paralysis marks a fresh chapter for Four Year Strong, proving their ability to innovate while maintaining their core appeal. Fans can expect an exciting fusion of styles that pushes the boundaries of their classic sound.

Review: English former glamour model and pop-dance singer of the 1980s, Samantha was one of the main faces of pop driven dance music in the decade. Her debut album marked her transition from a famous British Page 3 model to a pop icon with global appeal, which included a humungous and very vociferous following in India of all places. The album blends catchy 80s pop-rock, with its title track 'Touch Me( I Want Your Body' leading the charge, showing her sultry, bold stage presence. Fox's vocal performance stands out for its authenticity and commitment. The album's second track, 'I'm All You Need', highlights Fox's ability to sing about empathy and romantic devotion, capturing the complexity of human connection. 'Hold On Tight', with its rockabilly feel, is different than most songs in Fox's discography, while 'Do Ya Do Ya (Wanna Please Me)' embraces 80s pop-rock with powerful, seductive lyrics. 'Baby I'm Lost for Words' explores the feeling of awe when meeting a crush, and 'It's Only Love' gives a soulful nod to Motown. 'He's Got Sex' wraps up the album with a bold, provocative theme, rounding off Touch Me as a collection of catchy, empowering anthems.

Review: 2006 was a very different time in rock 'n' roll. We'd cast off the Britpop and nu metal of the previous century's finale and millennium turn, and things had moved onto sounds that were far more sentimental, sometimes self-pitying and always hyper-emotional. This was true both of the rise of emo and hardcore resurgence, and the more chart (and advert)-friendly stuff coming from the likes of Keane and Coldplay. Over in the US, The Fray were looking to secure membership to that Closer-soundtrack worthy club and on their debut LP made a strong case for it. How To Save A Life features a number of powerful tracks, from the titular lead single to the piano-vocal showstopper, 'Hundred'. Moving enough to become the best selling digital album of all time, at the time (only trumped by Eminem's Recovery in 2010), here it is in physical form.

Review: Like many of us, Fred Again keeps a diary. But rather than writing in a journal, pager or Notes app, his diary takes the unusual form of an intensely personal album series, 'Actual Life'. The second instillment in the series hears him once again weave through Londonized R&B, future garage and pop-electronic, charting an 8-month period looking into an intensely difficult period of his life, in which the artist was confronted with a complex case of grief.

As well as producing plenty of high profile projects for other artists, his own diary-like albums have brought plenty of freshness to dance music. This was the first of them, back in April 2021, at the time an outlet for him to explore "a year of finding love and mourning its loss".

Review: Freedom Hawk are Virginia Beach-based stoner heavyweights sounding stronger than ever on this, their sixth studio album. When the whole world went into shut-down, these hard-rockin' stalwarts made the most of the chance to build their own studio and immediately set about crafting the thunderous tracks you can hear on Take All You Can. Matching squalling riffage and solos with a grandiose approach to songwriting, this is the sound of a band at the absolute peak of their powers. If you love anything from Sabbath-soaked doom to anthemic metal a la Maiden, you're going to be all over this album.

Review: Ace Frehley’s role in KISS was crucial in shaping the band's signature theatrics. The Spaceman to Simmons’ Demon, Stanley’s Starchild, and/or Criss’ Catman, Frehley’s silver-laced face makeup would of course come star-dusted by quasaring guitar chops, doubly amplifying KISS's popularity in histrionic heavy metal at large. Frehley’s new Now Playing tracklist - a new record from the prima donna rock quartile via Atlantic - highlights his diverse solo career, with'Rock Soldiers’, ‘Breakout’, 'Into the Night’ and 'Calling to You’ all featuring. It also packs the best hits from his time with Frehley's Comet, such as ‘Insane' and 'Dancin' With Danger’.

Review: Ace Frehley's 1989 recording arrives at a curious crossroads in his career. It's bold, swaggering, and drenched in late-80s hard rock sheen, but there's a thread of defiance running through its polished surface. Frehley, who had long stood in the shadow of his former band KISS, approaches the project with the energy of someone eager to remind the world of his prowess. His trademark guitar flourishes are as electrifying as everisharp, crunchy and steeped in effortless cool. Guest spots from former Kiss drummer Peter Criss and Skid Row members inject bursts of collaborative dynamism, making this not just a solo venture but a communal flex of rock-and-roll camaraderie. Frehley sounds like a man with something to proveiand he delivers, guitar in hand, unapologetic and relentless.

Review: Nelly Furtado's debut album, Whoa, Nelly!, is a unique blend of pop, folk and r&b, establishing her as a distinctive voice in early 2000s music. The Canadian-Portuguese singer-songwriter stunned audiences with her breakout single 'I'm Like a Bird,' a dreamy, folk-infused pop anthem that soared to the top of the charts. Furtado's lyrical introspection and emotional delivery, combined with the production talents of Gerald Eaton and Brian West, created an album filled with heartfelt melodies and infectious rhythms. Tracks like 'Turn Off The Light' and 'On The Radio (Remember the Days)' further exhibit her versatility and knack for catchy hooks. Whoa, Nelly! is not only a commercial success but also a creative triumph, blending genres and showcasing Furtado's unique artistry. Now, enjoy the album reissued on beautiful vinyl.

An all-out genre tour, this is the Furtado record responsible for such r&b, reggaeton and funk-inflected ditties as 'Promiscuous', 'Say It Right' and 'Maneater', enduring additions to her everlasting canon.

Review: If you want classic heavy rock... you've got it. The 2024 Foreigner and Styx tour was a juggernaut in the truest sense, Stateside at least. The two stadium guitar outfits have done a lot together over the years, and their joint US tour was the last in a long history of collaborative efforts, with Foreigner using this as the final chapter in their mammoth farewell tour, bringing a 50 year on-stage career to an end. Styx apparently have no intention of following suit, with frontman Tommy Shaw quoted in at least one interview saying the group will bow out "when they drag me to the funeral home" - fitting given the outfit are named after the mythical Greek river that would transport the dead from this life to the next. All that aside, if you know either troupe you'll know what this historic package sounds like - big, emotional, packed with power chords and soaring solos. If you don't, we just told you.

Review: Styx and Foreigner and much-loved rock acts and they came together for an epic 'Renegades & Juke Box Heroes' tour recently. Nothing says summer like their feel-good anthems such as 'Come Sail Away,' 'Feels Like The First Time,' 'Renegade,' 'Juke Box Hero,' 'Mr. Roboto,' and 'I Want To Know What Love Is.' Foreigner's Mick Jones continues to drive the band with his signature songwriting and guitar hooks, while lead singer Kelly Hansen has rejuvenated the band for a new generation. Supporting members bring unmatched energy and help add to Foreigner's enduring appeal and Styx, with their extensive catalogue of hits and high-energy performances also impress. This is a great tribute to classic rock.
