Review: REPRESS ALERT: Trelik reach into their recent archives with a much needed repress of Whalesong, the label's 2011 debut from UK producer OCH. With a compulsive passion for the dying art of crate-digging combined with a love for modern synthesis techniques the now Sweden based OCH manages to put together a 12" that could easily be described as psychedelic Chicago. "Whalesong" is a pulsating floor work-out which references the US greats whilst building an emotive sub-aqua soundscape. "Blind is The Wind" follows with a sneaky chord driven spoken interlude which creates an air of tension before climaxing into "Last Chance Saloon".

Review: David Swatten self released the "South EP" under his Planisphere guise out of Australia back in the year 2000. The 4 track 12" of ultra deep tones and smoky piano musings only found its way into a handful of owner's collections. A few copies resurfaced much later in 2017, with Dave himself selling his last few remaining records via email orders gathered through the online treasure trove that is the We're Going Deep Facebook group. For Those That Knoe promptly got in touch with Dave to talk about a potential project and it can now be revealed. This labour of love has come to fruition in the form of a long player that features three cuts from the "South EP" as well as 8 other rare and exclusive previously unreleased recordings.

  1. I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know (Timmy Regisford original version) (5:47)
  2. I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know (Joaquin's edit & Overdub version) (7:07)
Review: Second time around for Timmy Regisford's inspired rework of Donny Hathaway's 1972 classic "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know", an unofficial revision that first slipped out on white label a couple of years ago. Regisford's revision is inspired, with the veteran New York producer layering Hathaway's heartfelt vocals and select instrumental elements from the original mix (guitar, orchestration) over a bed of rolling house beats and layered percussion. It's an emotional, life-affirming affair that re-casts the melancholic original as a stirring house classic. Over on side B, Joaquin 'Joe' Claussell offers an equally fine "Edits and Overdubs" version that adds some brand-new synth solos, spacey electronics and sweat-soaked percussion to Regisford's impressive revision.

Review: While Gianmarco Orsini is already well established as a producer thanks to solo releases on Elephant Moon and Partisan, fellow Italian Jacopo Latini is still in the process of making his name. This collaboration with Orsini as Data Memory Access - their first joint effort - should help raise his profile further. There's plenty to get the blood pumping throughout, from the throbbing, warehouse-ready retro-futurism of "Experience" - where angular acid lines and dreamy chords ride a '90s style Euro-house bassline - and the chunky acid house/tech-house fusion of "Acid In My Mind", to the drowsy electric piano chords, bustling breakbeats and bleeping deep house melodies of "Technology".

Review: Back once again we have the long anticipated 2nd release from Hearlucinate . Based around a party in London where each guest DJ is asked to collaborate on an EP with the Hearlucinogenic host and resident Tristan da Cunha . This time round we have the uber talented Ron Obvious laying down two killer cuts aimed straight at the dance floor . UK attitude mixes with New Jersey style organs , breaks , bass and a bad ass beats... Giving us two tracks that have an old school flavour but super fresh with a modern aesthetic. Once again showcasing his ability to produce timeless , tasteful grooves that make you move . Next up is TdC with his bass driven hypnotic hybrid sound . Picking up where from the last ep with heavy bottom end , driving beats , a spooky groove , all topped off with a dash of sleaze. To Finish the EP we welcome back Freakenstein with his electro funk monster taking no booty prisoner. Dance floor dynamite as always from this exciting new artist . As always it comes dressed to impress with heavy weight 180g vinyl and artwork from the workshop of Atelier Superplus.

Review: As both a member of Glenn Underground's Strictly Jaz Unit crew and as a solo artist, Vick Lavender has made some mighty fine deep house in his time. Further proof arrives via this fine two-tracker, which marks the veteran producer's first outing on Alex Attias' Visions Inc label. Probably the pick of the pair is superb A-side "Beautiful Lie", where guest singer D Millz adds a soulful vocal to a glorious bed of dreamy chords, jaunty jazz-funk bass, carnival-friendly drums and colourful synth solos. Lavender continues on a similar theme with flipside "Time Passing", whose loose-limbed broken house drums recall the work of Osunlade. Add in some killer chords, jazzy electric piano solos and squelchy bass, and you have something that Ron Trent would be proud of.

You have to come correct when you dare step to Nina Simone, but you know full well the cast of characters assembled on this 12" can be trusted with the high priestess of soul. Timmy Regisford is up first, bringing some intense organ lines and Lately bass into the mix with a perfect balance between jubilant expression and tension. Joe Claussell then steps up with two different edit and overdub versions, where the organs get poured on more liberally and the whole jam boils over. As a wonderful bonus element, you get a powerful acapella monologue from Nina Simone to close out the B side.

Review: Burnski's Instinct outlet continues to bring some serious firepower to the resurgent UK garage scene, and this time he's facing off with 0113 (otherwise known as Kepler.) for two rabble-rousing heaters packed with inventive twists on the 2-step formula. "Apache" is an intensely detailed roller that pivots around a killer vocal take, and uses all kinds of synth flourishes to create a wholly futuristic atmosphere - the garage of the future, but certainly not future garage. "Ignite" has a slightly more old-skool flavour that nods to past masters like Smith & Mighty as well as the pioneering work of El B et al. Classy stuff on both sides of this cool and deadly 12".

Review: Club of Jacks
RAW 3 EP

Club of Jacks come correct with the third and final installment of their RAW EP series - serving up another vinyl 4 tracker of essential House & Garage grooves primed for the dancefloor.

Track 1 'Memories' opens the EP with creamy Rhodes pads leading into a pulsing deep house groove flecked with soulful vocal lines, jazzy piano arps and filtered sax riffs.

The second track 'All I Think About' is a soulful groove built around an emotive vocal hook and chugging analog pads for that end of the night vibe.

On the flip side, 'Pressure Sound' switches style to a bassline roller with vintage reggae vocals, swinging garage drums and dub fx combining into a bouncy party starter.

Finishing off the EP is 'Bug-a-Do', a tough and bumpy hybrid acid-garage-house banger. Filtered synth pads merge with a 303 and M1 piano line - a hands in the air new school / old school workout.

All tracks are produced and mixed by Club of Jacks and made to be played loud wherever you like to jack your body!

He's at it again here on a two-tracker that showcases his love of studio collaboration. Attias' old pal Mark De Clive-Lowe lends a hand of equally positive and sparkling flipside "The Waiting Game", adding all manner of jazz-funk inspired sound synths to a fine, rubbery deep house workout.

Review: There's never a dull moment with the Albion posse, who continue to search far and wide to present consistently innovative twists on the house music template. This time around they've invited Italian producer Adriano Sorrentino from the DEMUT camp to drop some sparkling jackers with an old-skool palette but a forward-thinking spirit. "Inner Movement" is a sweet slice of melancholic techno rich in the synth department. "Dizzy Freq" is arguably the prize here though - a rough-hewn jacker with heavy sub bass and plenty of freaky analogue delights wobbling around on top. On the flip, Domenico Rosa delivers a funky, equally ghoulish version of "Dizzy Freq" and then the legendary Titonton Duvante lays down a sumptuous deep house take on "Inner Movement".

Review: REPRESS ALERT: The third trip out on Nuances De Nuit brings together another killer selection of ear-snagging club cuts that appeal to the deep-digging community. Kolter's "Don't Kill My Groove" has already been drawing plenty of favourable attention from the likes of Moxie with its deft breaks and electro-funk stylings. T. Jacques' "Control" is a peppy tech house jam with a sleek garage bump that should go down a treat with serious heads and passing trade alike. The real treat here though is Metro's "Here For The Love", a seriously in-demand jam from 1994 finally getting the repress treatment to take it out of the hands of the sharks. Vitess completes the package with "133cc", a dynamic wiggler with enough tripped out elements to take out a tank.

Review: Although we've become accustomed to Groovin' digging into the crates for inspiration, few would have expected their latest release to be a reissue of one of Peven Everett's most slept-on soulful house gems. "Feelin' Who You Are" first appeared in 2008 on the flip of a double A-side single, before being given a pressing of its own with fresh reworks. This edition includes versions from both releases, beginning with the near 16-minute "Original Drum Cartell Full Length Mix" - an epic journey through musically rich, live-sounding dancefloor grooves topped up with an impeccable Peverett lead vocal. We're also treated to the warmer, tighter "Original Mix" and two Shelter mixes by Adam Rios and Timmy Regisford: a rolling, ultra-positive vocal take and a squelchy, bassline-driven dub full of intricate instrumental flourishes.

You can't go far wrong when dealing with Mad Dog Fire Department's insanely funky "Cosmic Funk", which they nudge a little closer to the house side of the dance music spectrum without losing the original's killer groove. Review: Again, Stefan Ringer brings forth that heat! Four tracks made for the floor. The A1 "DoU?" begins with the classic phrase "she loves me, she loves me not". A nod to the tunneling vocals throughout the track. Hard hitting drums and percussion get you pumped and ready to take the journey. Deep emotional chords press on; as a thumping sub bass line connects everything together. A2 is "The Loop". Crispy 808 claps and hats lure your ears, while deeper chord stabs wrap everything in a package you can't refuse. The real star is the fat almost hollow bass line that hypnotizes you. The angelic synth harmonica solos throughout leave you begging for more. B1, "Reach", features the silk-like vocals of Detroit's own Javonntte. The chord stabs, drums, and bass line really show out on this track. Proven to work in clubs across the world, by the likes of Kai Alce, JT Donaldson, Ash Lauryn, ByronThe Aquarius, Wajeed, Patrice Scott, and Touching Bass, this one is definitely for the floor. Finally the B2, "Love2U", showcases Stefan's ability to slow things down without missing a step. Smooth, simple, and intelligent, the melody is the star of this track. Sensual and expressive vocals convey the message of this tune. The solo provided near the end articulates how much more there is to come from Stefan and this label. You need this.

Now is the time of Javonntte in the A side, the prolific Detroit is already a regular on the label ,presents Quantom is really trip focus to the dancefloor and Mr.Dj has a really lovely vibes. In B Side makes his debut in the label The Blaxploited Orchestra, which is the aka of the Spanish artist Simon Garcia where he saw us her most funk side and presents Ready To Go, an awesone Disco track with hipnotic chords and also,""Explicit" is a killer sound of low bpm

  4. Natasha Kitty Katt - "Plenty Good" (6:47)
Review: Previous offerings on No Fuss have featured the likes of Saison, Crispin J. Glover and Dean Zepherin, and now the upfront house label brings together another selection of party heaters from a range of producers. Saison makes a welcome return with the feisty "Till The Day I Die", a richly produced vocal jam with plenty of uptempo shuffle in the drums. Risk Assessment lean on the keys to create a melodic mood on "I Don't Understand" and then Saison does it again with the bright and breezy "The Riff". That leaves it to Natasha Kitty Katt to finish things up with the heavy funking disco licks of "Plenty Good" - a get-down cut for all seasons.

Review: The second release on the Masaala label explores a brief time in the late 80s and early 90s, when musicians were fusing Acid House with Bhangra. One of Leicester's unsung DJ heroes was Cutmaster Singh, who for this record has revived a selection of his own edits from back in the day. Also included is Cutmaster Singh's massive 'Acid Agah', an unreleased 1994 dubplate that more recently you might have heard being championed by Mr Scruff.

Review: Having dropped digitally a few weeks back via his own Bubbletease Communications label, Maurice Fulton's latest album as Boof has finally landed on wax courtesy of Gerd Janson and Running Back. It's worth picking up, not least because Fulton's musical vision is so vibrant and distinctive. Over two slabs of wax, the Sheffield-based American delivers a swathe of ear-pleasing, off-kilter deep house numbers laden with colourful synthesizer sounds, jazzy electric piano stabs, opaque chords and rubbery bass guitar. There are of course plenty of interesting and oddball diversions to be found throughout (see "Ana's F Is Chillin", the intoxicating and exotic "Japanese Indian Shrimp Curry", and the totle track's kaleidoscopic space jazz), as well as a handful of ultra-percussive peak-time beasts (see "Luam Has Found Her Z").

Review: Chubby's third volume of split EP goodness welcomes two seasoned veterans of the deep to spin some yarns, with a couple of equally sagely remixers on board too. Vincent Floyd takes up the A side with the beautifully lilting house haze of "Meditation". Deep88 takes the original and gives it a more forthright set of drums - a more visceral jack for those who love the mellow moods but want some bite for the floor. Brad P's "Time Machine" is a typically refined trip into the undergrowth with gorgeous techno synth lines flitting around a warm and easygoing groove made all the sweeter by a little broken beat kink.

Mission Of Vision EP

  4. Out With The In
Review: Nothing But Nice co-founder James Andrew (AKA rising star James Eggington) impressed us greatly with his debut EP, "Thinking Backwards", so hopes are high for this prompt follow-up. Happily, we can confirm that it's another excellent collection of cuts, with Eggington jogging between breakbeat-driven, bleep-laden deep tech-house (bustling and ear-catching opener "New Synth, Who Dis?"), bass-heavy, acid-flecked, intergalactic rollers (the surging, funk-fuelled brilliance of "Igor Hits The D Floor"), sub-bass powered, wide-eyed deep house bliss ("Mission of Vision") and sparkling, outer-space broken beat/sci-fi techno fusion (undoubted EP highlight "Out With The In"). Eggington is clearly in fine form right now and will be a producer to watch in the months and years ahead.

Review: For this project called 'the joint venture', Inner Shift are teaming up alongside Deep Explorer. This part on Inner Shift follows the first part which was released earlier this year on Deep Explorer. .Mahal. is a Japanese producer and dj with a history of playing music with previous releases on Rough House Rosie. The "Space Space Ep Part 2" contains 3 original tracks that dive into deep house with a more abstract edge. Red & Blue immediately captures your attention with original sensual guitar and vocal lines. Remix duties are courtesy of the Deep Explorers Above Smoke and Dubbyman taking Red & Blue into a broken beat downtempo space. On the B side Behind the Scene has a more abstract edge, and Mind Games with its driving acid bassline is complimented by lush chords keeping it warm and deep.

Review: After the infamous success of our first vinyl release from label owner Romain FX, played by some of the biggest names in the game: Move D, Skatebard, Oliver Hafenbauer, Gene Farris, Horse Meat Disco, Joris Voorn...

We've decided to have the EP remixed by a collection of maestros from all the spectrum of music.
With Lauer (Running Back/Permanent Vacation) on duty for the title track, Mr. Ho (Klasse Wrecks) from Hong Kong on Ke Ai, Warehouse Preservation Society (Mercury Rising / DJ Harvey) from Los Angeles on Fray and young up and coming Singaporean producer Bongomann (Darker Than Wax) on Air House. Review: Milan based Take It Easy label and party is back. This third drop comes from label owners Dirty Channels, Bugsy and DJLMP with the addition of the historical italian dj and Paradise Pizza's label owner Memoryman aka Uovo. After their big success "Watchin Out" and "Catch Me", Dirty Channels open the EP with an Afro-influeced sample stomper followed up by an afrobeat vocal tool by DJLMP. "I Wonder" open the B side with some crackly Detroit atmosphere by Memoryman aka Uovo. "Pomiri Dan" completes the set, percussive sample stomper by Bugsy on his first appearance on the label.
