I Am Your Master
I Am Your Master (red vinyl 12")
Cat: RL 02. Rel: 26 Feb 13
DJ Bert & Eagle - "I Am Your Master" (Savino DJ & DJ Peet Need remix)
Starion - "Dark Star"
Ste Spandex - "Edit 1U"
Kid Machine - "Pegasus"
Review: A seriously cosmic package from Red Laser here as they whisk us back to electronic disco's most formative period... 1980, the year Bert & Eagle released their insanely obscure spoken word Italo joint. Here we find it extended, massaged and polished by Savino and Peet Need and it's a glorious edit that suits all psychedelic soirees. Elsewhere Starion dust off the biggest synths for a darker, bulging retrospective while Ste Spandex goes all War Of The Worlds - meets Harold Faltemeyer and Kid Machine finishes the job with more of a classic Miami freestyle electro boogie lick. Masterful.

Maryann Farra & Satin Soul - "Just A Little Timming" (LP version) (4:28)
BT Express - "Peace Pipe" (DJ Nori edit) (5:26)
Review: Taken from original Paradise Garage resident DJ Nori's Take The N Train mix CD, Octave deliver two rarities on one 45" for the discerning selectors. Maryann Farra & Satin Soul's hooky disco soul stomper from 1976 is displayed in all its original illustriously orchestrated glory while Nori provides floor-firing edit of BT Express's equally hooky, equally sweaty, equally epic "Peace Pipe". Both guaranteed to fire up the most jaded of floors, don't sleep on this one.

Music All Night (Deep In Milano mix) (5:11)
Keep Dancing The Boogie (5:03)
Waited So Long (5:23)
Gotta Keep Dancing (4:47)
Review: Considered "the absolute Don of Italo piano house", Don Carlos is up next on esteemed NYC label Razor N Tape with an EP of rare vintage house from the archives - 30 years old in fact. For the uninitiated, Don (Carlo Troya) and S-Tone (Stefano Tirone) released two records on Italian imprint Calypso in the early '90s under the alias Montego Bay. Features the emotive, late-night garage of 'Music All Night' (Deep In Milano mix) followed by the low-slung dancefloor heater 'Keep Dancing The Boogie' on the A-side. The flip offers the life-affirming vocal cuts 'Waited So Long' and 'Gotta Keep Dancing' respectively which perfectly capture the zeitgeist of house music's golden era in the early '90s.

Summer Love (3:09)
Review: More quality grooves from Washington DC label specializing in reissuing obscure and unknown 70s and 80s dance music. This time around is Dreamcast who are Davon Bryant in conjunction with Swedish guy Sasac aka King Al. "Liquid Deep" is sexy late night deep funk the way it was always intended and Bryant's smooth as silk vocals are just like... Wow! So with Dreamcast on the vocals and Sasac on the beat, we are hoping there's more things on the way from this trans coastal duo in 2017.

FSQ - "Shaking My Damn Head" (feat Dolette McDonald) (4:47)
Perdu - "Cece" (6:32)
South Beach Recycling - "Bongo Man" (5:00)
Review: Midnight Riot's recently-released Riot In Lagos compilation paid tribute - in some style, we should add - to the enduring influence of African music on contemporary dance culture. This sampler 12" gathers together four of the most sought-after cuts from the digital-only set. Drop Out Orchestra kick things off with the fuzzy guitars, glistening solos, relentless handclaps and bongo-heavy drum rhythms of Candido tribute "Jin Go La", before FSQ deftly fuse Afro-disco and electrofunk on dancefloor stomper "Shaking My Damn Head". On the flip you'll find the breezy, Balearic-influenced Afro-disco fluidity of Perdu's "Cece", and the sun-kissed juju business of South Beach Recycling's fabulous "Bongo Man".

Review: The first instalment in UK label Big Love's A Touch Of Love vinyl EP series brings together some of the label's latest and finest moments for the vinyl heads. Chicago legend Mike Dunn serves up the deep late night mood music of 'It's A Groove Thang' (Black Glitter LB mixx), before teaming up with label head Seamus Haji on the deep down and dirty funk of 'Disco Dreams'. Over on the flip, Nigel Lois rediscovers '7's Philly sounds on 'Brotherly Love' with Jamie 3:26 and Rotterdam producer Danou P stepping up for a seriously lo-slung remix.

Serge Funk - "Do It Again" (6:30)
Reverendos Of Soul - "Glory" (Micky More & Andy Tee mix) (6:24)
Soulista - "Symphomaniac" (feat Karmina Dai) (6:16)
Review: More good time, disco-fired fun from Italy's most positive musical duo, as Groove Culture founders Micky More and Andy Tee offer up four more reasons to be cheerful on one action-packed 12". They kick things off with their own musically expansive, soul-flecked, peak-time ready remix of Dutchican Soul's hybrid disco/hip-house workout 'Raise It Up', before offering us a chance to giddily dance along to Serge Funk's piano-heavy, house style disco workout 'Do It Again'. Flip the 12" for their stomping, organ-heavy gospel house tweak of 'Glory' by Reverendos of Soul, and the piano-powered, string-laden disco-house cheeriness that is Soulista's 'Symphomaniac'.

Funkyjaws - "In Your Ear With It" (5:53)
Review: The FunkyJaws Music label invites us deep into their world for a third time here with another delicious 12".It's a various artists EP that features one of our top disco favourites - Eddie C. He opens up with 'Do You Wanna Dance' which has vocals pacing about the mix and old school acid bass twangs under raw house drums. Elado's '25.4 Millimeters' is a Middle Eastern funk workout with spangled drum hits and the flip side brings twisted acid disco and the cosmic trip that is 'In Your Ear With It' from Funkyjaws themselves.

Skitcut - "Zaletaet Na Acid" (5:17)
Funkyjaws - "Acid Circus" (6:22)
Eddie C - "Dysk Dzokej On Acid" (3:54)
Review: Craft Music's taste in sizzling hot party music is absolutely confirmed as razor sharp with this third instalment of edits and re-rubs with a twist. Far from vanilla re-arrangements, these re-versions get fruity with the source material and on Good For Dance there's a particular emphasis on acid. First up Scruscru & Aman Po-Kaifu get right down and dirty with Nigerian classic 'Salem' by The Funkees, whipping up a veritable storm with 'Acid Salam'. Next up Skitcut gets into a serious stomp laden with wriggling 303 action on 'Zaletaet Na Acid', and Funkyjaws has some fun weaving slamming claps and nimble bleeps into the brassy source material for 'Acid Circus'. Eddie C rounds things off with a proper rubbery acid tweaker which slips in smooth on 'Dysk Dzokej On Acid'. Classy stuff, and whole heaps of fun for those who love acid, those who love disco, and those who love both.

African Shakedown #2
Cat: ASD 2. Rel: 20 Feb 14
Eddie C - "O Ye"
Noema - "The Shake"
Bayaya (Axel Boman re-rub)
Disco Maschine (Soft Rocks edit)
Review: The Africa Shakedown label coined one of last year's surprise hits with it's debut release, and the label's second release is likely to prove just as popular. Noema features once more and the Salon Zur Wilden Renate resident has collared contributions from Eddie C, Axel Boman and the Soft Rocks crew. Eddie C is first up with the irresistibly groovy "O Ye" which wouldn't look out of place on a Red Motorbike 45 dinker, whilst Noema conjures up the spirit of Bill Laswell on the dubby, scratchy production "The Shake". Studio Barnhus co-founder Boman is probably the biggest draw here and his rerub of the uncredited "Bayaya" should be familiar to anyone that's caught a DJ set from the fun loving Swede. Soft Rocks bring it home with the heavily delayed jammer "Disco Machine". Strong moves all round here sir.

Cat: WD 029. Rel: 09 Sep 14
Eddie C - "Cut Chop Roll Skate"
Scott M - "Get Up"
VinylAddicted & SMQ - "Another Love"
Pontchartrain - "Get Over You"
Review: A fantastic foursome from boozy beat peddlers Whiskey Disco, the "Another Love" EP features label mates old and new. Eddie C ignites proceedings with a chubby electro boogie fused jam that pops and rolls with big disco bubbles and obese synth bass. Slide down deeper to meet label newbie Scott M who's done some serious dancefloor damage with a well-known Vernon Burch track. Further on we hit the EP title track, a Chi-town-style jacker with filtered flurries and a timeless disco house message. Finally we end on a well-spaced, loopy deep disco twist on France Joli's "Gonna Get Over You" courtesy of Pontchartrain.

Eddie C - "Move Me"
SE62 - "Out There"
Tornado Wallace - "Stop Holding Back"
Daniel Solar - "Into My Life"
Review: Good thing there isn't much to do on the Canadian ski slopes during summer, as Eddie C seems to have spent the warmer months knocking out a steady stream of killer releases. The man from Banff has just dropped a delicious new 12" on Hometaping Is Killing Music, and here headlines a four track EP that also boasts new material from SE62, Tornado Wallace and Daniel Solar. Eddie's effort kicks off the A Side, with the deliciously funky rolling rhythms of "Move Me" ably supported by SE62's "Out There", itself drenched in Motor City atmospherics. Flip over for Melbourne's golden boy Lewie Day aka Tornado Wallace, who provides some hazy summer instrumentation on "Stop Holding Back", while the midtempo tropical funk Daniel Solar's "Into My Life" rounds off one of the best samplers we've heard in some time.

Review: It's the fifth edition of Japan's Edit & Dub Recordings, and already we're feeling the love in the air. This wondrous little imprint is providing us with some truly fine beats recently and, whether it's disco or anything dub-related, they've got that sleek touch to kill. Automat - "The Rise, The Advance, The Genius" (original 1978)
Review: Cosmic Club is focused on releasing original obscure dance classics. For this 4th release, there are 3 rare tracks again.
First, Electra's 'Are You Automatic' is a pure cosmic Italo-disco gem, very rare to find and sought after, with the cosmic
club mastercuts treatment on top of it, easy to drop & play in any DJ set. 2nd, there's Sphinx's 'Collision' (remixed) an atomic
dance Italo-disco electro track from 1982 which has been compiled in the last 'Panama Racing DJ Mix'. This remixed version
is also from 1982 by the way. The third track is by Automat, called 'The Rise, The Advance, The Genius' from 1978. Tip.

Dance Par Amour (extended vocal) (9:36)
Dance Par Amour (Erotique dub) (9:04)
Review: Disco lovers Leng enlist enduring disco wizard and studio genius The Emperor Machine for a big new single here that was made alongside Severine Mouletin. It comes as two versions on this new 12", with the extended vocal going fist. It's a steamy and tropical bit of disco with feathery, whispered and seductive French language vocals over squelchy synth bass and hip swinging claps. Cosmic twinges finish it in style and on the flip side it gets a little more wild and tropical. An eco-system of synth daubs and neon colours bring the groove to life in a more interplanetary way.

Review: Mango Sounds, a disco edits and disco-house imprint with a bulging, digital-only catalogue to its name, has finally decided to release a record. Predictably, there's plenty to savour on the Russian label's first wax outing. Etur Usheo gets proceedings under way in fine fashion with 'Wo Ye Wa (Na Na)', a fine fusion of sparkling nu-disco electronics, driving disco bass and African instrumentation/vocals, before Whatever Charles delivers a lolloping, house style re-rub of a funk-fuelled Afro-disco treat ('African Dialects'). Experienced re-editor and remixer Ziggy Phunk steals the show with vibraphone-laden, proto-house treat 'Blues Grinder', while So.undso's 'Ultrashake' is a celebratory disco-house stomper with added synth squelch.

Cat: ROTHMANS 2. Rel: 18 Mar 13
Timothy J Fairplay - "Off The Rails"
Per Bojsen Moller - "Staying Late"
Steve Cook - "Noahs Arp"
Emile Strunz - "Magnetic"
Review: Named in homage to the series of collectable football cards from the 1970s, the Rothmans label follows the inaugural Mario Kempes Release with another long-haired icon being given his dues in the form of The Harald Toni Schumacher Release, complete with another four tracks of chugging techno-disco. Emotional Response's Timothy J Fairplay kicks things off with "Off The Rails", an expectedly dark and tense piece of Carpenter-esque synth, while LWE writer Per Bojsen-Moller delivers the atmospheric techno of "Staying Late", whose rippling analogue bassline gives way to an unexpectedly funky breakdown. On the flip, Steve Cook's "Noah's Arp" takes things a Balearic house direction with its thick, filtered analogue textures adding some psychedelic colour to its mid-tempo grooves, while Emile Strunz's "Magnetic" adds some acid flavour to its low-swung, vocoder saturated Italo swagger.

Ghostwhip - "10:56 PM" (5:14)
Review: The Filament crew are Amsterdam based purveyors of nu-disco, who have returned with the second edition in their electrifying various artists series. The last one featured some awesome tracks by the likes of Kito Jempere and Carrot Green, but on Vol. II there's a Sunday open-air festival vibe. The label head honchos themselves go deep into the exotic, Disco Halal style, on '4:28 PM' and Glowing Palms bring on the sunset in neon-lit fashion on '6:04 PM'. On the flip, Super Drama goes deeper into the night by getting some noir-ish Italo disco vibes happening on '9:37 PM' and Ghostwhip takes over the closing set with a curveball in the form of UK garage influence stepper '10:56 PM'.

This collection - which is their third release on L.I.T.S. - features carefully selected tracks from their original 1996 releases on Marguerite, a small label run by a friend. Nearly three decades later, these still much sought-after tracks are finally being reissued. The EP opens with 'Glitter Girls,' which is characterised by a catchy bassline, followed by the deep groove of 'Um Bongo.' Scott Featherstone & Tino - "Circles"
Ramboiage - "Pretty Baby"
Review: Brand spanking new label Sccucci Manucci launches with a 12" offering containing cuts from four different but equally pleasing sources. Those of you who hang out at the crossroads where disco meets house will no doubt already be keenly aware of the stylings of Aussie pup Francis Inferno Orchestra, and here he turns in piano-driven stomper "Horizon Beat". No less euphoric is "Scare The Night" by Jonno & Tommo - alas not a production duo from Far North Queensland but the considerably less tropical climes of London - who drop an oven warm slow-mo jam that brings to mind I:Cube's epic "Falling". Scott Featherstone & Tino TCB on the flip, with "Circles" guaranteed to raise a smile from the more discerning corners of the dancefloor. Portuguese newcomer Ramboiage rounds off the release, dropping some Cottam-esque heavy thud house on "Pretty Baby". Already in the record bags of Jacques Renault and other members of the disco cognoscenti, fans of Wolf Music and Kolour Recordings will be all over this record which comes wrapped in some seriously porno artwork.

Programa Sintetico (Sagittarius 1983 Tribute edit) (6:56)
Review: Remarkably, Jorge Moreira's Villalegre Recordings first announced the release of the Discomanos EP some two years ago. The fact that it's finally out is fantastic news, as it contains fine edits of four deliciously obscure cuts. First up is FRWCTRL's rearrangement of "Exotic Love", a sweltering, string-drenched chunk of glassy-eyed disco with distinctive Persian influences. Rayko does his usual trick of extending instrumental passages before building to a climax on the dusty disco cut "For Your Love", before Mike Burns goes harmonica crazy on his edit of quirky proto-house era disco-blues jam "I Want Your Body". Speaking of Italo-disco, Sagittarius does his best impression of Intergalactic Gary on "Programa Sintetico", a deliciously masculine, stargazing electro-disco fist-pumper.

Review: The Royal Athlete label keeps on running with the sixth volume of its self-titled series. It is a collection, once again, of joyous analogue disco that pays homage to classic sounds but not slavishly so. Kicking things off are the mighty galaxies, absolute kings of this form with plenty of cosmic synths and retro-future synth work. Paul Withey slips into a deeper, more seductive disco-soul sound with 'Confessions' primed and ready for some smoochy dancing, then First Touch's 'I Believe In Boogie' does what it says on the tin. Review: Expert reissue label Soundway look to 1980s Trinidad & Tobago for their latest rare gem. Two cuts of "Parang" - a sort of South American folk music originated from Venezuelan and Colombian immigrants and later infused with Caribbean rhythms, disco and soca vibes. As such both tunes are impossibly sunny, uplifting and loose groovers that will work dance floors into a spin at any time of year. Colleen Grant's take on the style is driven by a neat funk baseline coupled with her glorious vocals, while Sandra Hamilton's is more down and dirty with rump wiggling drums.

So it is that another such label joins the fray, and kicks off with a various artists affair that takes on some big tunes. A&R Edits Revisited is actually a new series from Greg Wilson, who draws from his diverse back catalogue to re-issue some of the best loved old gems. Henry Greenwood's electrically charged rework of Neneh Cherry's 1988 classic 'Buffalo Dance' opens up then Peza updates The Blackbyrds' 'Walking In Rhythm' and Derek Kaye offers a lively reinterpretation of The Player's Association and Sophie Lloyd's take on the much covered 'Rise' from Herb Albert closing out with big bass.

Review: Funkyjaws Music comes though with more of that lovely loose-limbed disco goodness that is never going to fail in energising a decent danc floor. Let's Dance Volume 4 is another various artists affair that launches with James Greenwood & Aniello's feel-good 'Look Of Love' which has it all - the sweet female vocal, the florid strings, the rolling bassline and big brass leads. Scruscru & Los Protos's 'Corason' brings some Latin flavours with a more deep and seductive groove and Jkriv and Love Drop offer up two b-side jams packed with soul and irresistible rhythms that effervesce with uplifting vibes.

Review: Chicago underground legend Mark Grusane drops new heat in the form of 'Take Me' on his label Disctechno and this one features DJ Saucy Lady, Boston's so-called 'Disco Queen.' The track drives a deep, groovy bassline with infectious synth fills, filtered arps and pads that all add up to a high-energy disco vibe. Saucy Lady's seductive, dubbed-out vocals echo the mantra "just take me" and are layered with mesmerising harmonies. On the B-side, disco maestro Rahaan crafts his own typically excellent 'Psychedelic Dub' rework with machine-funk synth sweeps and surreal tweaks. Dub Instrumental and Acapella versions complete this dancefloor-ready gem.

Review: Daje Funk serves up a big slice of high-grade weaponry for working DJs here with the ninth installment of disco. It is a various artists affair that opens with the rolling rhythm section and funky horns of Ronny Hammond's 'Keep On Groovin.' Shit Hot Soundsystem get a slight re-edit from De Gama but their 'Woah' sure will hit the spot with its retro funky samples, chunky drums and expansive vocal. De Game offer another edit to open the b-side, this time of Uptown Funk's smooth disco groover 'South Side Boogie.' Last of all, things slow down to a crawl over seven steamy minutes of deep disco dubness with Coldbeard's 'A Funky Situation.'

Review: Emotional Relish sees Emotional Response team up with the Relish label overseeen by Headman to launch the limited Emotional Relish label with the first release helmed by Headman in cahoots with Scott Fraser and Douglas McCarthy of Nitzer Ebb fame. The title track has McCarthy suppling gurgly and anthemic vocals while Headman and Fraser drop cold basement beats, warbling synths and driving arpeggios. Of the three alternate mixes, the first comes from the Hardway Bros and their "Axis Forces dub", which powers home '90s new beat and EBM stylings, while Mexican producer Daniel Maloso puts emphasis on the the original arpeggio and breathy McCarthy vocals. The additional dub mix reduces the synth action and like Maloso, reworks the the Nizter Ebb's vocalist's yelps, making a great alternative club mix.

Review: Following the runaway success of her long-anticipated 2017 debut album, Honey Dijon returns to action via a feel-good, peak-time collaboration with storied Aussie vocalist Sam Sparro, who first rose to prominence in the late noughties following appearances on Basement Jaxx records. Sparro's trademark vocal naturally takes centre stage on the opening "Disco Version", a driving chunk of acid house/disco fusion that sounds like a summer anthem in waiting. The track's nagging TB-303 lines are naturally pushed to the fore on the darker Cosmic Energy Dub, while fellow Chicagoan Cratebug flips the script entirely on his flipside rubs. Choose between the deep house/disco fusion of the "Nova Remix" and the arguably superior "Supernova Remix", where twisted but funk-fuelled acid lines rise above a stripped-back groove.

Sarah Bates - "All About That" (6:28)
Review: Ralph Lawson's 20/20 Vision has been a reliable home for disco funksters Crazy P over the years. Even though the label has veered more into electro sounds of late, happily it still has the space for this second volume of tunes curated by the Nottingham outfit. It shows how their sound has broadened over the years and takes in the gorgeous downtempo lushness of A Certain Ratio's 'Atmosphere Sings' next to Hot Toddy's deep and thoughtful groove 'Barry & The Mouse'. On the flip is some majestic and cosmic Italo from scene-godfather Daniele Baldelli & Marco Dionigi on 'Neono' and then Sarah Bates rounds out with some rugged bass guitar riffs and late-night tropical heat on 'All About That'.

Review: Tunes Delivery is a sub-label of Scruscru's Scruniversa and now it enters into the world with a fantastic first offering in the form of this six-track various artists EP. 'Hotmood' opens up with the feel-good disco-funk of 'Just Tonight,' Scruscru keeps it real with 'Funky Flute' which is a nice languid instrumental and Frank Virgilio up the ante with some big horn-laced grooves. The flip side then comes on strong with three more brilliantly musical grooves that brim with catchy riffs and fresh disco-infused rhythms. A great start to what is sure to be a great label.

Review: It's hard not to have a soft spot for Eurodance if you are a dance fan of a certain age. And this single on Etichetta Nera out of Italy sounds exactly like a reissue of just that from some time in the mid-90s but apparently, it is an all-new cut from In Da Club. It's got Italo melodies, catchy vocals and accessible beats and sure will bring the good times. A dub and instrumental is included as is a Joe T Vannelli remix that has some acidic house spice to it.

Vahagn - "Voltage Controlle" (6:15)
Toby Tobias - "Trigger Output" (7:19)
Additional Hardware - "Resistors & Capacitors" (5:54)
Review: In Flangranti's latest project is an interesting one. It features them, and others, creating new tracks from elements of previously unheard recordings by obscure 1980s Swiss outfit Schaltkreis Wasserman, most of which were apparently made under the influence of LSD. The resulting tracks do a good job in putting the cosmic synthesizer refrains and vintage electronics in a new light. For example, Toby Tobias's druggy "Trigger Output" skillfully combines a vintage breakbeat hardcore rhythm and with decidedly psychedelic electronics, while Vahagn's "Voltage Controle" is a sparkling chunk of stylish Italo-disco. Also worth checking is the chugging, arpeggio-driven synthesizer exotica of Additional Hardware's "Resistors & Capacitors", and the intense percussive madness of In Flagranti's "Side Strain".

Review: Iner's house and disco edit label comes back for a third round of dazzlingly bright and breezy party fodder that needs consuming while the summer months are here. There's just no stopping the happy-clappy vibes of 'Trip Of Happiness', which opens up Iner's own side of this split 12". A cheery chord progression that feels like a throwback to seaside light entertainment and every rose-tinted fairground trip of your childhood, strapped to a smart-stepping house beat. Iner also offers up 'White Nights In St Petersburg', which turns to a vocal chant and frames it with a peak time house workout to get hands aloft. Saint Paul takes on the B side with the soul-soaked uplift of 'A Natural High', while 'Joie De Vivre' keeps things funky without slouching on the house beat. High grade party weapons for people who like to have fun.

The J's - "When Did You Stop" (Al Kent Disco version)
Sandy Barber - "I Think I'll Do Some Stepping On My Own" (Al Kent Classic vocal mix)
Review: Record Store Day Edition: Al Kent knows his disco edits like we know how to breath, instinctively and naturally. Refocusing the emphasis on all the best aspects while paying complete respect to the original, he's a bona fide editing don. And these are two fine examples: The J's 1979 string-laced soul piece gets the full 4/4 treatment with tight loopy percussion that teases with neat groove drama. On the B we look to Sandy Barber for inspiration. Taken from her 1978 album Best Is Yet To Come, here Al's magic is found in the lolloping groove extension and slight twist on that insatiable bass runs. Two perfect treatments, one seriously essential Record Store Day 12".

Marvin & Guy - "There's No Matter" (6:38)
Review: The latest joint on Mexican label Calypso brings together a whole host of talented operators tweaking out the traditional structures of house. Thomass Jackson is first up with the loose and freaky robo-disco roll of "Urzsula", a delightfully wild trip through clanging metal pings and wobbles strapped to a solid groove. Simple Symmetry and Inigo Vontier sound more direct with the stomping "Prayer To The Spiritual", although there's also a mystical charge in the track aimed at sending the dancefloor skywards. Facets gets low down and dirty with "Distant Chants" and Marvin & Guy cut up some serious funk for "There's No Matter", completing a set full of curveball club tracks to make heads turn.

Review: In a taxi en route to an airport, Gerd Janson mentioned to Midland that he might have some demos for the label that he had been working on with fellow Frankfurter, Shan. What resulted were a pair of tracks that perfectly nail the vibe and what the label is about, 'soundtracking the moments of the night and day when everyone on the dancefloor feels like a family.' Legend has it that in 2015, Midland watched Janson close Berlin's infamous Panorama Bar. The way he played on the night, the energy levels he maintained in the room altogether inspired him to write some music influenced by the experience. The tracks that followed were the first release on Regraded and fast forward to this, the third release: it all seems to have come full circle.

Review: Aussie duo Jayse & Steve P are so low profile that we can't source quite enough information to introduce them, but when the edits are this good - we'll just let the music speak for itself. The pair are back with another collection of boogie-funk edits; on the A-side there's some sexy and neon-lit late-night vibes, and over the flip the retro styles carry over with a low slung electro-funk jam featuring a quite familiar and absolutely infectious hook.

Review: Razor N Tape main man JKriv makes a rare appearance outside of his beloved imprint for this great one on the ever reliable Chicago imprint Star Creature Universal Vibrations. 'Make That Change' channels the heyday of classic early '80s NYC disco, accompanied by Saucy Lady's wonderful vocal work - guaranteed to be a floor filler. Over on the flip, JKriv serves up a slick disco dub remix which largely forgoes the vocals, but retains that amazing trumpet solo to keep the party going well into the late night.
