AG - "Can't Cure Curiousity" (6:17)
Alex Jangle & MatztaM - "Glowbones" (7:04)
Faer - "Serious Repitions" (7:43)
Deadbeat & The Mole - "All Creepy No Sleepy" (5:45)
Review: It is no mean feat to last 10 years no matter your business, but to do so as a record label in this day and age is worthy of maximum respect. Fair play to Det Gode Selskab then for marking the occasion with a tidy new 12" that showcases just what the label is all about. There is chunky tech with grinding bass but lush old school melodies on 'Can't Cure Curiosity' while Alex Jangle & Matztam's 'Glowbones' cuts totally loose on dreamy synth daubs, painterly lines and rubbery house loops. Faer takes a more dark, heads-down path for his spooky 'Serious Repetions' and as you would expect of Deadbeat & The Mole they bring off-kilter loops, unbalanced drums and a ramshackle rhythm that will have you shaking your bones.

Lee Burton - "Amino" (6:14)
Maggio - "Rolling Phunk" (5:58)

Matteo Point - "Great Weekend" (6:50)
Review: After the first volume went down so well it's no wonder we now get treated to The Sound Of Garden Vol 2 Part 2. This various artist affair comes right from the cutting edge of minimal house and tech with Lee Burton opening up in bold, strident, bouncy fashion as he allows zippy acid to flash about his full-bodied beats. Maggio's 'Rolling Phunk' is just that - perfect effective rhythms with machine soul. Jamhar and Franko Lopez then combine for 'Lost Act' which brings more undulating drums and techno-leaning synths before closer Matteo Point shuts down with the future-facing prog pomp of 'Great Weekend.'

Review: Nicola Facchineri's Prog EP on Twig is a masterclass in hypnotic, groove-centric electronic music, demonstrating the label's knack for crafting compelling club tracks. Each cut on this EP reinforces Twig's reputation for pushing boundaries while keeping it grounded in dancefloor practicality. The opener, 'Lighter Cubes', immediately sets the tone with its spacey atmosphere and mesmerizing bleeps. The track's subtle melodic elements weave through a tapestry of electro sounds, creating a suspenseful build that's perfect for those crucial moments in a set when you need to heighten the tension. 'Juggle' shifts gears with a deeper groove, featuring a blend of bass and acidic synths. Its understated yet infectious rhythm makes it a standout, effortlessly blending subtlety with impact. On the flip side, 'Climbing' lives up to its name with a relentless build-up that turns the dancefloor into a dynamic playground. The track's chuggy bass and intricate drum patterns keep the energy high, demonstrating Facchineri's skill in maintaining momentum. The final track, 'Right Way', wraps things up with a touch of acid and a cool, spacey melody. Its bleepy, synth-driven vibe ensures it fits comfortably into any set, bringing a satisfying conclusion to the EP. Prog EP affirms Twig's status as a go-to label for quality deep club tracks, adding yet another gem to their impressive roster.

Review: For the first time ever, Basic Spirit has enlisted an artist who isn't in-house to contribute to its fine catalogue. And there is no one finer for that honour than Fantastic Man, a legend in the game with a fantastically fresh sound no matter what style he turns his hand to. He kicks off with 'Spiritual Guidance' which is pacey, spacey house music with real synth serenity. 'The Beach' brings broken beats and sot acid manoeuvres next to rueful piano chords. 'Novara' then appears twice on the flip in two different versions - a Progressive Fantasy which lifts you off your feet and takes you amongst the stars, and a darker and more moody Progressive Mindfuck.

Review: Francesco Farfa's Learn To Fly delivers a seamless blend of deep house and electronic intricacies. The opener, 'Peace Treaty #1,' sets the tone with a smooth, rolling rhythm that gradually builds into an engaging groove. 'Feel The Run' follows, layering atmospheric synths over a punchy bassline, drawing the listener further into its hypnotic world. The track progression on Side 2 is notable, with 'Fly To Sub-Conscious' guiding the mood into more introspective territory, while the 'File' series offers varying shades of darker, more experimental textures. Farfa's production shines with every track, maintaining a balance of groove and explorationiperfect for both the dancefloor and home listening.

Review: Francesco Farfa's iconic 1991 club EP is reimagined three decades later here with fresh remixes by four of Berlin's top DJs and producers. Their various different takes make for a versatile selection of dancefloor tools crafted by DJs, for DJs, ensuring it fits a variety of occasions. The A-side features Trent's deep, big-room darkness, complemented by Juan Ramos' trancey rework which mixes in key elements from the original. On the B-side, E-talking delivers an uplifting progressive remix while Hamsa strips it down for a more minimalist, enhanced version of Farfa's classic theme. A must-have selection of reworks here.

Hamsa - "Chronus" (6:15)
Hamsa - "Hades" (7:03)
Review: Musek is a new label from Francesco Farfa, a rather cult DJ and producer in the Italian scene, and Hamsa, who is a new and fast-rising producer. The debut is an interesting one that opens with Farfa's busy and acid-laced techno pumper 'Zacido' with its bleeping synth sequences and ravey pads. Hamsa then takes care of the other three cuts, the first of which is a collab with Dan Beaven. 'Helios' has static electrify shooting across the face of a searing cut with angelic pads and stiff metal drums. 'Chronus' is a crunchy breakbeat brew that fizzes with dystopian energy and 'Hades' brings a little twisted cosmic tech funk to the party.

Melted
Review: According to Craigie Knowes, this label debut from rising star Fasme is full of "trax to soundtrack your voyage through time and space". It's certainly an emotive affair, with opener 'Creeping Plant' smothering a throbbing, trance style bassline and crunchy machine drums in cascading synthesiser melodies, rushing piano motifs, swirling chords and suitably psychedelic acid lines. Fasme's love of TB-303-powered techno comes to the fore on 'Unlimited Fun' (an accurate title), while 'Lezgo' doffs a cap to the more melodious and progressive end of late 1990 trance. Fasme cools things down on the flip, tiptoeing towards the chill-out room via the head-nodding beats, ambient chords and bubbly bass of 'Snake Venom', before conjuring up some stellar ambient dub in the shape of 'Melted'.

Review: Fata Morgana reissue is here and is a standout progressive house record originally released in 1993. Certainly, a key release from an era when the genre was dominating the electronic club scene. This 12" features four versions of the track, each adding its own nuance to the original's hypnotic groove. Each mix is meticulously crafted, showcasing the complex, layered sound that would define late 90s and early 00s progressive house. Transmigration Records continues its excellent work with this reissue, reminding listeners why Ulterior Motives is often cited as a lesser known gem in the genre.

Review: Fabrizio Fattore brings a lush world of sound to the fore on his new EP for Mule Musiq. It mixes up early, soul-drenched Detroit techno championed by the likes of Derrick May with jazzy melodies that would make John Beltran proud. 'Deep Blue is a sophisticated symphony of melodic and cosmic techno that will lift you off your feet. 'Passengers To Mars' is more lo-fi but still has a driving sense of groove and serene synth craft that is rich in emotion. 'Moon Temple' shuts down with more melancholic melodies but no less elegance in the craft.

Review: Simona Faraone's label, New Interplanetary Melodies, welcomed Feel Fly for an EP that is "inspired by the ancient and mysterious Etruscan culture, whose peoples inhabited the historical-geographical region of central Italy." He hails from Italy himself of course and has written soundtracks for movies as well as great dancefloor tunes. The tracks here combine dreamy melodies with hurried breakbeats, corrugated acid techno jams and 90s post-rave house sounds that carry you on waves of blissed-out pads. It adds up to an EP that feels steeped in ancient ritual as well as having one eye on the future.

Review: Felix Da Housecat returns to his squashy electro roots with 'Test Press'. A megaphoned monologue by the artist and vocalist NEZ straddles this serious slice of electro-house weight, urging the listener to give up the exclusive goods or work to procure them: "test. press. please." Then there's 'Simulator', laying down a humorously broken meditation on video-game playing and joystick flicking in the name of life, eking out the tricky contours of such a lifestyle with hyper-limited, mega-flattened snares and clacks. Finally, the 'Pressapella' appears as the remixable base with which you, too, might make your own version.

Review: In the endless quest for the deepest, trippiest cuts, the Italian progressive house scene is a steadfast provider. Fingerprints was a one-off project from Gianni Drigo and Maurizio Merli, which resulted in the After The Moon 12" on Mammut Records in 1996. Now Berlin-based label Evasione Digitale is bringing the incredible, immersive beat down of the title track back into the wider public consciousness for a trip like no other. It's incredibly restrained and subtle for a prog house track of the time, perfect for teasing the tension on the dancefloor. The other tracks are equally thrilling, from the dubby acid flex of 'Prints 3000' to the spiky, slower onset of 'Kabara'.

Review: Fio Fa is back in his own label Sunset Drifters with four well-crafted and progressive cuts. 'Strengthen My Delusions' opens up the Delusions EP with twitchy electronics whipping about a steely arrangement with potent bass. 'The Wrong Side Of Doubt' has a winky lead taking centre stage over well programmed and crisp drums and hits and 'Partys Over' on the flip then layers up more future-retro sounds and slivery synth lines with a more moody low end and some sleazy vocals. Last but not least is the rather more serene and cosmically minded 'Another Epiphany' which cruises on acid-laced prog beats.

Birth 4000 (7:36)
Review: Floating Points is one of those artists whose releases always feel like an occasion, even when they're a one track single. In the case of 'Birth4000', the back story is a run of premier league previews when the likes of Four Tet and Shepherd himself snuck the tune into headline slots this summer, most notably via the Arcadia stage at Glastonbury. Compared to Shepherd's exploration of jazz with Pharaoh Sanders or in his own productions, this is a casual demonstration of how adept he is at creating a snarling, purely electronic party monster when he wants to. It's devastatingly direct - just a monster arp and a beat, and yet it's leagues ahead. That's the sign of a truly gifted artist.

Review: Floorfillers deliver the third in a series of original EPs, following three prefatory Edits editions, which first laid out the label's modus vivendi as brim-fillers of the dancefloor. The unknown artist behind this one hears the white horse of reason steered in the direction of paradise: perhaps drawing on a similar and widely recognised French house release of similar repute and name, 'Paradise (Special Edition)' brings string-caked and softly intoned FM leads to an overall peaky emoter. For fans of The Paradise or Rising Sun, this is another bony labyrinth of progressive house bliss.

'Rippol' picks up the pace, its driving bassline and infectious melodies building towards a euphoric climax. Review: As you will well know if you are reading this, prog house is back and it has been for ages. As always with any revival, there is good stuff and weak stuff. This EP is very much the corner from Forces of Nature, with authentic 90s soundscapes mixing up lush ambient synth designs, dreamy Italo drums and real musical depth. 'Jupiter' is super smooth and seductive as it cruises at high altitude, then 'Tripping' is a downbeat workout and 'The Bomb' takes you to the heavens on gorgeous melodies while the bass plunges low. 'In Your Mind' is perfectly comedown music to close the EP in style.

A few years in, he's firing up new label E&X with this classy four-tracker, packing in three of his own rave-tooled, progressive bleepers plus an on-point remix from Revivis. The prolific Berlin DJ and producer has here created a monument to a nearly lost cultural artefact: the Germina Speeder, the only skateboard made in East Germany before reunification in 1986. Known for their unwieldy quality - likely the result of technical limitations faced by the chocolate factory improperly tasked with making them - the title track on this record rolls much more smoothly than the Speeder, its trucks comparatively loosened and boardside waxed. But most skateboards out there would likely pair well with this glorious, wind-in-your-hair dance EP; 'Bo Knows' and 'Master Mind' are easy-rolling, manual cascaders of equal calibre.

He brings a slightly different look here with the wonky, twitchy and tech infused rhythmic stomp of 'Reality'. There is more melody on display on 'Fantasy' with its ever rising synth loops glowing bright with a celestial hue and on the flip-side 'Puzzle' pairs some subtly joyous piano chord stabs over prickly disco-tech beats with molten arps underneath. Review: Musek deliver a fresh V/A comp in the varicose veins of lively progressive house and dilly acid trance (ish), cycling through three originals whilst closing things off on a reimagining of a classic. First there's Joy Kitikonti and Hamsa with 'Tricks Of The Time', a burgeoning journey packed with metallic clanks and scraping basses; next it's Farfa's retouch of Hamsa's 'Overthinking', which does an impressive job at depicting overthought with rabbit-hole filtercut arps and manic calculative leads. Farfa and Hamsa return for the comparatively brooding 'False Cruelty', which peppers its on-a-mission pluckstabs with the odd spaceship UI blurt; and finally, the classic-remix in question is Hi-Ryze's brutal rendition of his Ubik alias' 'Command', the original version of which was released in 1991, and to which Ryze multiplies its deathly yet seductive vibe through madhouse chirp leads and doomy diminished chords.
