Review: The third edition in Ten Lovers' Coin series hears Marcello Cassanelli, Caruso and Helen McCormack fuse churnout disco, chicken pickin' guitar and Rhodes solos, in an extravaganza of fresh, sartorial dance music. Never pressing too hard, Cassenelli's 'Starlight' and 'Tropical Breeze' go easy on the master channel, with unhurried pan flutes, roiling strings and twizzling G-synths stuck loosely to a soft but firm electro-tropical backbeat. 'Dream Horizon' is a brilliant outerlude on which to close the side. On the flip, Caruso & Helen McCormack allude equally to the Manchester Street Soul scene of the late 80s with 'Have & Hold', whose razor-edge r&b vocals and low-slung progression lend the record a surprise twist. Their 'Love You More', meanwhile is lushness personified, before Caruso's 'Central' chugs magnficently towards the run out groove with oozing synths and glitterball glamour.

We're left most quivery at the centrifugal doom drones of Exhausted Modern's 'Fear Of Focus', across whose breakdown banshees are heard wailing and snarling, and Fragedis' 'Landing In Reality', a lo-fi techno freakout and sonochemical anomaly, channeling militant two-way radio samples and hellish FM synthesis.

Review: Mole Audio present a very special new quart of tracks from Daktari (Oliver Linge & Olaf Pozsgay), who've teamed up for a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration with vocalist and dub legend Horace Andy for an original set of versions. Actually, it's a welcome comeback for both artists; Daktari also haven't released anything since the brilliant back-to-back waxes for Luxus in 1997, then 1999. Now that the Y2K scare has abated (25 years later, no doubt) Daktari are back with 'Rasta Forever', which moves minimally and spatiously, and manages to sound much "slower" than its dancehall tempo would initially betray. Andy's star line has to be, "we don't smoke spliff, we smoke chalice," alluding to the kind of cannabis smoking pipe often used by Rastafari. Alt mixes from DB ART, Rhauder, and Zion Train transition from greezier dancehall, to something more dub technical, to a bubblers' delight in a more classic sound; all do stellar reparative justice to Andy's towering, implicit demand for dues and honour paid, and, true to the Daktari name, prove amply effective at remedying our symptoms.

Review: Having already introduced us to many of their regular 'pals' - re-editors specialising in Balearic and cosmic oddities - Manchester's Drum Chums crew now wants is to meet their 'percussion pals'. They operate within similar sonic territory if this first multi-artist missive is believed, albeit with more of a penchant for dubbed-out drums. There's plenty to set the oulse racing throughout, from the metronomic dub-chug of Spice Route's incredible 'Gruler Dub' - a fine re-edit debut from the long-serving Bristol selector - and the expertly dubbed-out space disco trip that is DJ Pouffsouffle's 'Totally Manic'. Elsewhere, Manc stalwart Neil Diablo delivers the ultra-slow weird-wave pop of 'Starry Night', while Hysteric's 'Pinball' is a blue-eyed soul treat.

Review: Hame channels plenty of chasing personal circumstances and the 'tumultuous journey' of life in this new album Almost Home. It's inspired by the idea of 'filling the room with heartfelt sounds' and sure does that. Standout opener 'Tears' actual features the real sound of someone sobbing which has then been used as a rhythmic element that adds a very real emotional touch. Review: It's been a wee while since we last heard from Rory Hamilton AKA Hammer, whose formative releases on Bicep's Feel My Bicep label were special to say the least. This is, we think, the Northern Irish producer's first solo EP for almost five years. He starts in style with 'Swerve', a pulsating slab of house-powered body music rich in sequenced bass, shimmering chords and saucer-eyed melodies, before opting for a deeper, tech-tinged and analogue-rich Italo-disco-goes-deep-house sound on 'Swivel'. Over on side B, 'Tbilisi' is a hushed, warehouse-ready affair full of sweat-soaked cymbals, restless square wave bass and vocal stabs, while 'Push Repeat' sees him pepper another sturdy house beat with melodic motifs and quietly moody pads.

Review: How is it that this EP from Warren Harris, aka the deep house maestro Hanna, is now 20 years old but still sounds like tomorrow music? Such is the vision of Harris that his off-grid grooves and sparkling cosmic melodies have aged to perfection. The pads weave in and out of the wonky kicks on 'Metropolitan' to make for an outlier soul sound. 'Cottage' pairs more wispy melodies with cool-as-you-like drums and on 'Healing' there is a sunny day feel with glistening and golden keys and louche drums persuading you to sway. 'Afternoon In Paris (NY mix)' brings some swaggering jazzy swing and busy keys work that again transcends space and time. This is one of the many classics on Theo Parrish's Soul Signature label.

Review: Rupert Hartick made quite an impression with his debut release on Pleasure Zone in 2022, and the eagle-eared out there might have copped his drop on Konfus last year. Now he's graduated to the unstoppable Rawax with a four-tracker of sophisticated tech house for the discerning dancer. 'Sweet Dreams' has a meandering, hallucinatory quality helped no end by the amorphous synth tones shimmering over the top of the slinky, shuffling beat. 'Wiggle System' is an entirely different proposition marked out by snaking electro with a mellow demeanour. 'Smokin Kims' is also electro in its construction, but there's a very different flavour to the synths, which warp and writhe through some exquisite sound design. 'Leftback' maintains the thoughtful, original approach Hartick takes across the release, all while offering a different slant to his productions focused more on brittle percussion and FX tweaking.

This one opens up with 'En Bloom' which is a Miami bass-inspired jam with crisp kicks and icy cold 808s. Rocco Universal's remix is more deep and house-leaning with some magnificent melodies then on the B-side, 'Whitelight' gets more twisted with elastic bass and snappy percussion. 'Untitles' is a cosmic journey with a funky guitar and dreamy chorus and last of all comes the smooth and serene, chord-laced soundscapes and fathom deep grooves of ''Untitles' which is a classy late-night sound.
