The man has more imprints than a beach has grains of sand, but importantly they all serve a purpose and all kick out killer jams. Review: There's messing about on this fresh 12" from Abdul Raeva, a duo made up of Joonas Arro and Steffan Todorovic. They only debuted last year but have since offered up four EPs on four different labels, each with their own vibe. This one has a bulky old-school rave-house sound to 'Vapordisk' and the and dance floor dynamite keeps on coming with 'Acidflex'. It's 3 am business on 'Vela' - a smooth and cruising groover with nice drum loops and tripped-out breaks close out with 'New Horizons'. Super stuff.

Review: Acapulco Heat is a new duo from Acapulco made up of Felipe Valenzuela and new comer Ossios. They share a love of colourful shirts and making "sensual moves in the shade of palm trees" and here offer up a set of cuts designed to encourage dancefloor mindfulness. 'Intellectuelle' is a crispy tech house groove with thudding kicks and enough detail to keep the mind as locked as the heels. 'Gonna Do & Do It More Now' is a highlight on the flip - a trippy synth line buzzes about over flappy drum programming that suspends you in the groove. The one and only Titonton Duvante offers a remix that has a darker heart.

Review: Lirica White Series makes its debut here with the first 12" from AI Robot. There is an element of humanity and real emotion in these sounds right from the off: 'Chicago Babussa' is a bustling and percussive techno cut with some zippy leads that head off to the cosmos. 'Desert Earth' again blends tribal percussion with retro-future synth sounds and chunky grooves that will sound great nice and loud. Review: Australia has been one of the hottest places for interesting new club sounds for a while now. Re-Leaf is another new label from down under that backs that up and it launches with a mighty fine new EP from label head Aldonna. It loosely offers up deep house sounds but with a range of different slants - there's the progressive chord lushness of 'Rush,' and the more prickly percussive tension of 'Venus'. Review: Gestal is leading the way in the Estonian scene and now it rightly continues its anniversary celebrations with a third volume of vital VA cuts. Anderson opens proceedings with his 'Stalactites,' a nice leggy electro cut with a heavy drum and bass combo but plenty of astral details. Things get more kinetic and travel much further from the blue planet on the superbly slick and serene cut from Long Island Sound, while Baby Rolen gets down and dirty on twisted bass and slapping drum hits that make you jerk. There is a much more dreamy vibe to Abdul Raeva's 'Celestial Body' meaning things close on a perfect emotional note.

Review: Andy Page and Danny Bonnici should need no introduction to anyone who's been following the world of distinctive electronic music. Both involved have crafted some of the craziest releases to see a dance floor. Danny Bonnici (also in NuBreed) with other collaborative efforts saw him co-produce the hit "Ride" with Luke Chable. "Knowotimean" is a bouncy and twisted deep house record that will surprise with its strong groove. "Vermouth" is featured on "Y4K", mixed by NuBreed on Distinctive Records. It is a super clean breaks track that begins as a simple electric break-beat and evolves into a deep and rich mind-expanding bomb.

Review: Shockingly, it's been four years since long-serving Greek producer Argy last released an EP of new material. Perhaps he's been holding back some sizzling material because this return to action on Afterlife is genuinely excellent. Title track 'Tataki' is particularly potent: an intoxicatingly moody, otherworldly dancefloor chugger in which sampled, effects-laden Greek vocal samples rise above a throbbing sequenced bassline, tough but sparse drums, clandestine chords and creepy electronics. 'Magic Order' is similarly druggy, with choral vocal snippets, a bassline reminiscent of Lindstrom's trancey nu-disco classic 'I Feel Space', high-end lead lines and gently swelling chords. Impressive stuff all told, though we didn't expect anything less.

Review: Young Canadian Joel Armstrong is back on Babylon Records with "Silver Moon". This track has been a set opener for may a DJ over the last couple of months, including Sasha & Anthony Pappa and there's no wonder why. Its warm intro, summery vibes and melodies make this one a must have for both house & progressive lover, and this classy combo has seen the track supported by house & prog DJs alike (from Pappa, Sasha & Hernan Cattáneo to Demi, Desyn Masiello & James Zabiela ) on the B-side, the mighty Derek Howell (Bedrock Records/Lost Language) delivers his very own interpretation of the track. A very 'Sasha-esque' moment (think "Involver"), mixing breaks & 4/4 beats with clever melody arrangements for a wicked grand final.
