Review: Taking his name from a now-submerged island in the Danube, Bucharest's hotly demanded composer Ada Kaleh prints another 12" that is sure to sell out like the others. This time, the single on the docket is Side B from his 2018 double single 'Roua Diminetti / O seara de ragaz', featuring two remixes from the likes of Norway's space-disco wizard Prins Thomas and Solid Groove's founder and Sheffield's finest Aubrey. The original single is a dark one to move to, a driving, subtle beat underpins the sensational percussion - perfect for the middle of the night. Aubrey takes things in a completely different direction, taking a far more noisy and in-your-face approach with a mysterious twist; Odd sounding percussion and synths fly in and out through the 'RMX' that give it an otherworldly feel. Thomas picks things up the only way he knows how, with his distinguishable brand of space-age techno-disco, the bassline giving this particular cut a production-line rhythm. The perfect soundtrack to construct your robot army to.

Review: Banoffee Pies is one of those labels that doesn't miss no matter what genre it takes aim at. Best known for its hype garage sounds it heads into minimal territory here with Adelina at the buttons for the seventh in the Black Label Series. 'Outdoor' is a primo cut with judders groovers and sinewy synths demanding you dance, 'Spirit DNX' then slows down and gets all acidic and twisted and 'Double Danger' is a real cracker that fizzes with static. Last of all, 'Own Methods' is a future world where the robots have taken over and mysterious pads lead you through an automated world of cosmic energy.

Review: ViGis opening salvo for 2025 brings together four artists from four continents who all blend their own diverse cultural roots and influences into a superb collection of cuts for the club. This is a 12" that offers a refreshing take on familiar sounds and delivers subtle yet punchy variations in style and rhythm. Adema keeps it nice and clean and slick on the deep, bubbly tech of 'Jm Glavio' while Red Pig Flower's 'Stardust' is a zoned-out roller. Artur Nikolaev's 'New Edition' is a deft minimal soundscape with warped lines and bubbles dub undercurrents. Cladu shuts down with 'No Name' which is a more propulsive cut.

Review: London-based Italian David Agrella is the man behind the Agrellomatica Records label and now for its fifth release, he has tapped up some undeniably quality names to remix the title tune from his debut Modulo EP back in 2007. Baby Ford kicks off with a deliciously deep and dubbed-out minimal house roller that is detailed with wispy chords and eerie vocalisations. Agrella himself then flips it into a rubbery 909 workout with pops and bubbles next to the leggy drums. GNMR goes for a gritty, heads down and back room techno roller and to close, NDR brings a retro techno sound with molten acid lines. All in all a very useful outing.

Review: RFXN kicks off life with a new single from David Agrella which has seen early support from Ricardo Villalobos. First off he offers up his own Acid Mix of 'Perro Balearico' and it's a supple, deep and dubby track with liquid synths and prog chords that sound both retro and future all at once. The original is a more dreamy and spaced-out sound for 5 am sessions. On the flip is a more punch but still silky and warmly melodic remix from Mario Liberti before last of all, Gabriel Rai gets darker. His drums hit harder and the synths are moodier as he takes dancers down a late-night path of mystery and intrigue.

Review: Given that Ricardo Villalobos was one of a handful of guest producers who featured on Oren Ambarchi's recent Hubris album - a krautrock-influenced minimalist techno exploration that also boasted contributions from Jim O'Rourke and Mark Fell, amongst others - it seems fitting that he's been roped in to provide two new remixes. The Chilean's contribution to the album was largely rhythm-based, and his two lengthy Variations - each stretched across one side of wax - promote undulating, heads-down dancefloor hypnotism above all else. Naturally, his drum programming and use of subtle stylistic shifts is as on-point as ever, with Ambarchi's original textures being manipulated into mind-altering new shapes.

Review: After a brief hiatus, Synapsis Records makes a triumphant return with a standout 12" release from Iranian artist Siamak Amidi, complemented by reinterpretations from hm505. Synapsis-019, Crack A Love Ball, offers a sublime mix of minimalism and complexity, showcasing Amidi's deft touch for immersive sound design on the A-side. His original tracks, 'Crack A Love Ball' and 'Mess with You', are masterclasses in subtle intricacy, blending rich percussion with understated grooves. Review: Amplified People is a prolific French artist based in Paris who roams from minimal glitch to bleeping house and driving techno. Here he brings his class to the fledgling Arpanet label following a debut EP from founder and French veteran DJ Speep back in October last year. It's Ghost Black that opens up with sleazy and ghetto-friend tech complete with plenty of Motor City style. There are then melodic stompers like 'Canon Jack' and brilliantly deep and sleepy cosmic techno trips like 'Solitaire Wargames' to make this a real doozy.

Review: Inimeg Records label boss and general underground don Joey Anderson has always operated on the fringes of the deepest house and techno sounds. The New Jersey mainstay returns now with the Vanish EP on Obia Records while owner Wendel Sield also pops up with one tune. Anderson's trio ranges from the dusty, smoky basement dub of 'Vanish' to the ticking and glitchy minimal menace of 'Masked Ones' via the intense synth dystopia of 'Escape'. Review: Dan Andrei is arguably one of the finest selectors of this generation and a master minimal producer who makes electronic music of the highest order. His latest outing sees him inaugurating his own brand-new label alongside Claudiu Stefan. Rainbow Hill is a platform for their more personal ideas and starts with four more of Andrei's brilliantly deft yet dramatic tracks. 'Numan's Touch' kicks off with rolling drums and bass and a fine eco-system of cosmic pads, twinkling keys and fizzing synths that are theatrical and involving. 'What Else?' then gets darker and more intense with heady loops and wispy pads, and again the ante is upped and the darkness pervades once more on the tense and taught dub-tech roller 'This Is What I See'. Last of all, 'Bluer Than Ever' floats above the floor with airy pads and radiant chords. A perfect 5am vibe.

For their next drop, they welcome Argentinian talent Stefano Andriezzi who is known for bringing great colour to his beats. This 'Elektronico' EP showcases his skill with four tracks that explore diverse underground moods with take cues from ravey electro, techno and hints of house. 'Elektronico' opens with turbocharged pads and bass making of an upright and urgent future tech house beat. Review: Two sides of mega-minimal, textural minimal and a dash of drone here, shared equally between friends Bastian Balders and Anton Kubikov. The producers bring a sophistication to the tech, reflecting the huge variation in the emotions they indulge. Something between ecstasy and horror is heard on Balders' 'Machinery', while Kubikov's 'Introland' is comparatively hopeful and tearjerking, with its delayed piano refractions and filtery-in-and-out strings.

Review: The icy techno sounds of Cologne's Barnt make their way across Europe here to Studio Barnhus's Swedish bunker. Across five fresh cuts, he brings plenty of experimental flair but also some playful rhythms to a forward-thinking EP that sounds like little else. Review: Leeds-based label Turnend Tapes showcase the wide and very assured skills of Malmo man Martin Abrahamsson aka Bauri across a choice selection of five tracks from the more thoughtful and atmospheric end of the techno scale. That's not to say there aren't grooves aplenty going on. Opening track 'Zoom0036' has some irresistibly shiny, downbeat electro moves, offset by a touch of Autechre-like ghostliness. 'Jody' comes on like Drexciya at their perkiest, with a soupcon of Air Liquide's cheeky phasing, while 'Sunrise (take 2)' has the majesty and simplicity of Aphex's first 'Ambient Works'. Flip it over for 'Easter Sunday', where streamlined polymetric machine funk and solar flare arpeggios do a merry dance, before 'Feeling Reprise' finishes things off with spiralling half-speed beats and yet more melodic grandeur rising out of the mix. Abrahamsson has a long, impressive pedigree with more alter egos than you've had hot dinners, but this is up there with his most original and confident efforts. It's a Flow-brainer.

Review: Rising Boorloo artist Beltrac shows why he is so well thought of here with five tracks that deliver a dynamic collision of sleek, dub-infused minimal rollers reminiscent of the late '90s and early 2000s tech-house but paired with high-energy drum-driven explorations. Review: Dutch label Brew returns with more moody techno that is both deep yet impactful. It's Robert Bergman at the helm and '3 AM' is his opening gambit. It has ghostly voices shimmering across the beats with a menacing low end, rugged bassline and scaring percussive sounds. '#5' is another fresh sound with great sound designs and alluring rhythms and last of all is 'Drum Trax' which is a third and final blend of nostalgic and futuristic house tropes for heady basements.

Review: Bluets' debut on Kimochi Sound seamlessly integrates into the label's well established and distinctive style. This one, with a hand-sprayed sleeve as always, opens with "if you can imagine," a confident bit of microhouse that mixes rich melodies and a lively bassline. 'Action Potential' echoes RDMA's aesthetic with its precise beats and on the B-side you will find a vaporous melody that weaves through sparse downbeat house grooves to make for a dreamlike atmosphere. Closing the EP, 'Buong Bilog' features distorted IDM rhythms and a poignant refrain that balances twitchy textures with melancholic tones. This carefully crafted release bridges home-listening electronics with dancefloor clout.

Review: German artist Stephan Bodzin has done a fine job of keeping himself at the forefront of the melodic techno world, not least with his always boundary-pushing live shows. He takes that energy into the studio when cooking up his scintillating club tracks, too, and always has. This reissue on his own Herzblut label revisits one of his many stand cuts. 'Valentine' is a wonky one with creepy bass and mysterious melodies over crunchy tech beats. 'Papillon' takes flight like its butterfly namesake, with elegant leads and rubbery bass all doused in glorious melodic rain that has a sci-fi edge.

Review: Boris Brejcha's distinctive style of 'high-tech minimal' has earned him much credo over the years, enough to warrant the rerelease of several of his most enduring tracks under the recently embarked-upon Classics series. The tracks this time around are 'Festival Of Love' and 'Wolcke 7', originally released in 2007 and 2008 respectively on the Harthouse label before taking the international minimal scene by storm. Though they're both shuffling, popcorny sundowners for those who like it clean, classy and glassy, these tracks explore different zones, with the A-sider far jankier than the more accessible B.

Review: Oblivium's first vinyl outing is well worthy of its space on wax as Nicola Brusegan and Camilo Gil serve up the deep than deep house of 'Revolution Of Tha Mind 909 Poems By: Tea Time.' The original Hood mix is first and is one coated in sustained chords, dusty atmospheres and soulful vocal mutterings with plenty of analogue percussion and loopy, swinging drums. The Luciano remix is a more uneasy and stringy minimal version, as you would expect, and then comes a much more raw and edgy number from Lil Mark in the form of his Swing Tech mix. A Varied and vital package is shut down with Chris Carrier's steamy and humid 909 Tribute mix.

Review: Byron The Aquarius is a bastion of quality modern house music and the seance volume f this series on Phonogramme can't come soon enough. It finds the keys master and former hip-hop producer doing what he does best - laying down raw, dusty beats with captivating melodies. 'Co$mic Felacio (Freaking92)' stars with low-slung menace, 'Gift Of Gab' is a bright house stomper with smudged and smeared chords and 'Willie Wonkaaa' has a darker, more unsettling edge and squealing synth lead. Review: Christian Rinderman, aka C-Rock, has been a key figure in Frankfurt's house scene since the 90s, consistently delivering deep and funky tracks regardless of fleeting trends. His first release in 1995 included the club favourite 'Funky Dope Trakk,' which quickly gained support from local and international DJs. Ricardo Villalobos, among others, played the tune relentlessly for decades. In 2012/13, C-Rock's own label Lo-Fi Stereo remixed and reissued the track, but those versions have since become rare and sought-after. Now, 'All That Jelly' is reissuing the four original versions, freshly remastered from the original DATs, ensuring they'll remain dancefloor staples for the next 30 years.

ATIPIC 014 features four tracks firmly entrenched in the minimal sound; the off-kilter, low slung breaks of '014.1' kicks off the EP featuring some sensual vocals by The Magic Olives, before the playful groove of '014.2' comes next that's reminiscent of late-noughties sounds on Minus or Oslo. On the second side, you've got the trippy microhouse bleep fest of '014.3' and ending with the experimental, piano-led downbeat piece '014.4'.

Review: Following years spent serving up sounds on a wide variety of underground labels (Into The Woods, Atipic and Infuse included), Alexis Cabrera renews his productive partnership with Raum Musik - a label he last appeared on four years ago. The EP highlight is unquestionably A-side 'Dreaming of a Silver Future', a sparkling and positive-sounding affair in which spoken word snippets, shimmering stabs, jacking drum fills and tight TB-303 tweaks rise above a chunky bassline and restless drums. Flipside opener 'Your Name On My Arm' is a rugged and decidedly moody affair in which blackened electronics, trippy samples and dystopian sonics, cropped vocal samples and short TB-303 tweaks ride a charred bassline and chunky tech-house beats, while 'Do You Wanna Wonder' is a hypnotic and lightly intergalactic European tech-house roller with notably crunchy drums and a few nods to Twilo-era Danny Tenaglia.

Review: French producer Caim impresses us all with their newest EP for Autodidact, 'Nebula'. Whether or not he is self-taught, we could, regardless, believe it to be true, judging just by the sound of this EP alone. Evidently undeterred by the fear of loss of vim in loss of speed, this glassy, prismatic minimal/progressive techno EP gets progressively slower in tempo, beginning on the rousing ghost-scapes of 'Space Cadet' before moving into the waterier Atlantean wonk-chugs of 'Nebula' and 'Crystal Fox'. All three tracks demonstrate the best of Caim's ability to craft dispersive, refractive soundscapes - as if its raw constituent synth parts had been granularly "shone" through a brilliant, many-faced diamond - and still fit them between otherwise gnarly sets of beats.
