Review: Passed Out On A Persian Rug might be the best names a label we have heard in a while, as well as being the perfect way to any big weekend. Once this one is lined up on the decks though the party will be far from over - Hayedeh's 'Gol Vajeh' brings exotic vocalisations over deep house beats that get you in the zone. Shahyar GhanbarI's 'Forbidden' is another steamy and enthralling house cut with depth and soulful synth craft. There is playfulness in the chords and funky bass of Shahram Shabparesh's 'To Mitooni' and Hassan Shamaeizadeh's 'Telesm' closes with crisp, breezy tech.

Review: French Pedro Winter aka Busy P is the former manager of Daft Punk, current manager of Justice and many other electro acts, label head at Ed Banger and still active producer. Here he presents his first new music under this moniker in some four years over a pair of 12"s. The first one, 'Track Of Time' is made with the talents of Haich Ber Na and Shay Lia. It is a prime electro house cut of the sort he has dealt in his whole career. Boosting the package are three remixes courtesy of the legendary Masters At Work aka Kenny Dope and Louis Vega.

Review: Native Soul Recordings has been around a long old time in dance music terms and now it looks back over some of its finest works with this first in a new series of Best Of comps. Music writer Harold Heath is first up with 'Slipstream,' an effortless smooth late-night house cut with introspective chords and silky pads bringing real depth. The Candy Dealers get more lithe and elastic with the spraying bass and jumbled percussive house of 'Train Of Thought' and last of all, Asad Rizvi remixes Jevne's 'Moderize' with a funky little bassline and chord vamps that keep you on edge. A tasteful package of timeless house grooves.

Review: Comprised of Kranky regulars Mark Nelson, Robert Donne and percussionist Steven Hess, Anjou make their debut on the esteemed Kranky imprint. The trio trade in a unique kind of ethereality, where tracks like "Specimen Question" take you far away into a melodic daze and bring you back to planet earth feeling shaken. Beautiful snippets of field recordings, enchanting voices and a little bit of hardware fuzz created by analogue machinery make up the album's core, and tracks like "Inclosed" feel both sparse and rich at the same time, a characteristic of all the tracks herein.

Review: Powerhouse new single from the mighty Carl Cox, taken from his upcoming new mix CD. This was originally a huge hit when it was first released in the UK, and will now definitely be making some crossover moves with the Koch label behind this. Bigroom thumping tribal/techno with a fantastic female vocal. This is a huge track poised to make a big comeback.

Review: It's been a while, but finally Dessert Island Discs is back with another batch of feel-good party cakes hot and steaming out of the oven. There's a bunch of highly skilled patisserie chefs on hand to whip up the goods, from James Curd with the ludicrously steamy acid funker "This Girl Is Hot" to DJ Confit with the heavy looping disco house of "Yellow Day". Nelly Wilson is bringing some sassy disco edit business to the B side with the utterly infectious "Hapenis & Pleisure", and then Herb Flavor seals the deal with the fierce stomp of "Para Dice". If you want four full fat treats to get people popping, you can't go wrong with this one.

Review: The team behind upstart imprint De La Groove has done a fine job on this compilation style extravaganza, which features tracks from an impressive selection of hotly tipped producers. Highlights include the bouncy, shirts-off loop-disco of Cody Currie's "ACE, At The Point of Collapse", the super-groovy, jazz-flecked deep house warmth of Demuir's "Let's Get In It", the effervescent sweetness of Black Loops' summery roller "French Affair", and the fluttering flute solos of Hotmood's goodtime jazz-funk revision "Voyage To The Onda". The purest expression of jazzy, smoky deep house is provided by COEO, whose clarinet-sporting "Azzurro" is probably our pick of a very strong bunch.

Review: A retrospective tone of synthesizers reminiscent of YMO, a bouncy rhythm with the structure of click house, a familiar vocoder vocal, a nostalgic melody sense of 80s disco pop, the title track, "You Are Always On My Mind" is just like giving you the answer of the idea if YMO covered Daft Punk "One More Time". It was the tune heavily played for several music scenes in Japan when the album was released, and immediately became a favourite track for DJs but has never been released globally.

Review: Delerium/Hard Fi's "Silence" contains two excellent under the counter remixes, the first an epic retooling of Delerium's "Silence" and on the flip they rework Hard Fi's "Cash Machine". Finally repressed!

Review: Tatsy Recordings is up to a fifth release and it wants you to sample what it is all about with this fine sampler. It kicks off with Disko Junkie's 'I Like To Party' which will indeed get you ready to party with its lavish grooves. A Nu Disco Mix of Discotron's 'September' then brings more good time feels with its colourful synths and vibrant rhythms. Flip it over and HP Vince has got the sauce with 'Got The Groove' with its loopy bass and classic samples, House Punkz then rework another super smooth soul sample into some disco house beats and Serial Thrilla end it all with the slamming 'More More More.'

Review: Rebirth is thrilled to announce the release of three bonus parts of the 'Ciao Italia. Generazioni Underground' album in 2023, available on limited edition vinyl. 'Ciao Italia' Bonus Quattro, Cinque and Sei continue to connect two generations - the trailblazers of the early 90s and those continuing the legacy today, with a futuristic perspective and renewed energy. Bonus Sei includes classic tracks from legends like Doni & Leo Young, Pastaboys, G.P.M., Steve Mantovani, Dan-E-Mc, Daniele Mad, along with unreleased material from newer Italian artists such as Hiver and Feel Fly.

Review: Jam-packed double pack of jacked up disco-house bangers from Filter Freq and a variety of collaborators and cohorts. Bryan Jones, Harrison Crump and Felipe Avalar all contributing to this one, with cuts heavy on the late night disco tip and jerky herky Chicago house grooves. Picks include "Underground Rockin" and the soaring "Lost In Music" but really all the cuts and DJ tools will find a place on the dancefloor. Excellent stuff for old-school Paul Johnson, DJ Sneak and Stacy Kidd heads...

Review: Paul Gardner & Hugh Gunnell (pseudonym for Wayne O'Connell) are best known as the Soul Avengerz. Here the Positiva producers unleash a dope house jam that sounds like a more electro tilted Paul Johnson "Get Get Down". It features an infectious bleepy slightly acidic main hook that has a similar funky feel as the Paul Johnson anthem, jacking beats and irresistible ass shaking grooves.

Review: A double A-sided gem, this African vocal anthem has two awesome mixes. Gecko & Shovell give a acid edged thumper against the Hoxton Whores bass driven masterpiece!!

Review: "After Midnight" is soul-tinged house at its best. All the urban broken beat boys will love this H&H Survivors tune.

Review: Produced by Brit, H&H and featuring the legendary NYC vocalist & songwriter Keith Thompson for their A Side mix is energised for peak time sets and kicks in with melodic DJ friendly vibes of catchy guitar hooks and Keith's distinct voice. Staffan's mix which has already been receiving good support, has a more funky and crisp arrangement.

Love is a fickle beast, one that can placate and violate in equal measure, but thankfully eurodance is one of the best sounds through which to express it. Its catchy synth hook, pulsing beat, and Haddaway's soulful vocals make this a timeless club hit that still resonates today.

Review: Big Love's popular compilation-style A Touch Of Love series returns for a sixth instalment, with boss man Seamus Haji once again showcasing a quartet of tried-and-tested treats. Fittingly, he kicks things off with 'Serious', a kind of hbrid heavy garage-house/disco house affair featuring organ solos aplenty and vocals from Chicago legend Mike Dunn, before Moon Boots joins the dots between sweet 80s soul and nu-disco on the synth-powered vocal number 'In My Life'. Heavy, French Touch-inspired disco-house vibes are provided by DJ Fudge ('Escapade'), before Dutch rising star Danou P - with a little help from pal Jamie 3:26 on vocals - delivers the organ rich deep house/garage-house fusion of 'Fly'.

Review: Craig Hamilton id Glasgow's freshest young producer, bringing us his debut release "Glass Cheque EP". It has four stunning cuts, all ready to rip the dancefloor apart. First up on the EP we have "Shy Life", which is heavily influenced by Chicago's natural rhythm; it is the deepest cut on the EP, with its deep rolling bassline and cheeky chopped vocals, and elements of flute and sax to round the track nicely. "Shy Life" has been on rotation in every major DJ's set for quite a while. "20 Pence Refund" is quite a dark cut on the EP, built upon vocal beatbox percussion and scats. On the flip we kick things off with a disco tinged jacker sure to leave you wanting more. "Can't You See Me" contains samples from Roy Ayres classic track by the same name, with a jacking twist, filtered breakdowns and old school vocal cuts to make this the cut of the EP. It is already in heavy rotation from Bryan Jones, Jason Hodges, Craig Hamilton, Joey Youngman, Fraidso, Chris Chadwick and Brian Anderson. "Been A Long Time" is heavily influenced by Littlemen and Inland Knights. It has a deep, dubby bassline, skippy beats, seminal keys, filtered vocals, chopped guitar and sax samples.

Next up to do exactly that the label says on its tin is Hammer, a returning artist who has already this year served up his fine 'I Wanna Be Like You' EP. He is well known as a hit maker as well as being a partner and blogging friend of Bicep and doesn't disappoint here: 'Think About Me' is a nice late night and silky Italo grover with warm chord work and busy, chilly drums that lock you right in. On the flip of this tasty yellow 10" is 'Paraiso Tan' with its sunset vibe, balmy neon colours and retro-future Italo disco licks.

For this year's special Record Store Day release, London has pulled together big remixes of their most famous tune 'Hallelujah.' Any of these are sure to do big things on the floor.

Review: Spin Out return with "Galia Melon", another eclectic chunky piece of vinyl from James Harcourt. It's a nicely filthy record (as you might expect) with a real big-room house appeal. Remixes come from some of Australia's hottest property at the moment. Aston Shuffle twists up the track and spits it out with a bouncy, glitchy and all round massive rework. Lee Coombs also turns in a growling builder which takes some of the best parts of the original and creates one of the best crescendos we've heard in a long time.

Review: Hamburg-based duo Hard Drive Library return to do what they do best on the fourth edition of their eponymous imprint: hooky filter house tunes, extremely raw and unforgiving. On the A-side you've got the bumpin' dancefloor heater 'Keep It Groovin' and its hypnotic vocal refrain that'll have the crowd grooving 'til the break of dawn, plus two more rough and ready jams over on the flip. There's the quirky and low slung bounce of 'Donkey Damage' as well as the funked-up disco loop action on 'Dancin Heat' reminiscent of classic DJ Sneak.

Review: The self-titled Hard Drive Library production outfit is back with a fifth offering of raw-assed house music. This latest three-tracker is another direct-to-dance floor offering that starts with the rickety loops and endless reverb of 'Extra Wet' which has thumping kicks, serrated electro-house synths and yelping vocals. 'Another' is a much more smooth and feel-good groove with summary, uplifting French house synth loops and last of all 'Less Euphoric' is actually more euphoric with plenty of pent-up energy, bumping drums and happy melodic loops that cannot fail to bring a smile to your face.

Review: London label Make A Dance is having a busy year with a new sub-label or edits, a big recent outing from Yorkshire post-punk band Deadletter and ow this new various artists series. It features a characterful mix of house cuts, firstly the big synth stings and stomping drums of Hard Drive Library's 'Allegro For Strings.' The Make A Dance production outfit then contributes 'Nanyuki Nights' which is all stiff arps, Italo melodies and chugging drums. UK fav Andy Ash then brings some retro goodness with big piano laced house anthem 'Drums For Acid' and further cuts from Tom Carruthers and Asa Tate make this a party starting EP well worth copping.

Review: Hard-Fi's new single "Better Do Better" has been rework and given it a breath of fresh air from one of the UK's most promising producers since Chris Lake, getting plays from DJ Yousej, Stonebridge, John Aquaviva, Chris Lake & T Delight. Massive!

Review: Energized eighties flavoured synth pop with a Duran Duran like vocal in a polished electro house setting. Flip for the bouncy disco simplicity of "Try My Rock", an infectious ride sporting a classic synth sound.

Review: Amazingly, the track was originally a mash-up for DJ Roog to play out in the coolest clubs on his travels. However such was the response when it was dropped at the WMC in Miami, with the DJ booth literally stormed by punters and DJs alike, label owners Roog and Greg decided to do the right thing and give the track a full release. Fellow Dutchman Simon van Kesteren delivers a hot remix of "Deep Inside". Simon has released tracks on labels such as King Kong, Work, La Factoria Discos and Fresh Fruit. Another remix comes from Danny Marquez, who has seen his productions surface on Defected, Metropol, Atal Music and his very own Bubble Soul Music.
