Notes: The mmMidi is a simple & compact MIDI interface for your Eurorack synthesiser. It translates two independent channels of MIDI note, velocity and gate information to corresponding control voltage signals via either a classic MIDI DIN type connection or as a driverless USB MIDI device.

Notes: The 'Stereo Sum' is a unity gain summing mixer that features four stereo input pairs summed as pairs to two independent mix outs or all as a single combined mix. It is a useful utility for efficiently combining outputs of multiple stereo sources, such as the MEGA-TANG and Jumble Henge mixers or multiple MFX returns. The inputs accept stereo or mono signals (via normalisation) which can be audio or CV (module is DC coupled) and the top mixer's outputs are normalised to the bottom mixer section meaning if the upper output is left unpatched the two upper inputs will be added to the lower output.

Each of the oscillators lets you choose from a selection of 219 single-cycle waveforms. And on top of that, two of the oscillators have powerful wavemorphing capabilities. Wavemorphing is a feature usually found on synths with preset wavetables. But creating user wavetables on those products is arduous or downright impossible. Unlike most wavetable synths, the oscillators 1 & 2 have an easy-to-use WAVELIST mode. This mode lets you select any 8 waves from the diverse collection of 219 waves, arrange them in the order you want, and then morph from one wave to another. This can be done automatically with any modulation source, such as an LFO or an envelope, or manually with a physical control such as polyphonic aftertouch or a Macro. Mutants
Oscillators 1 & 2 are routed into ASM's MUTANTS. The Mutants allow you to modulate, bend and sculpt the sound in new (and old) ways.

Each Mutant lets you choose from the following processes:
FM-Linear: This is for making classic FM sounds. Choose multiple FM sources, including external inputs.
WavStack™: Creates 5 copies of the input source and allows you to set a detune amount.
Osc Sync: This gives you those classic hard sync sounds. Try hard-syncing a morphing wavetable for some fun.
Pulse Width Modulation (PW-Orig): Performs the classic pulse width modulation on any waveform.
PW-Squeeze: Compresses the centre section of the waveform, for a unique type of PWM.
PW-ASM: Divides the incoming wave into 8 slices and lets you set the amount of FM that is applied to each segment. This is FM unleashed.
Harmonic Sweep: This will sweep the harmonics of the input source.
PhazDiff: Generates the difference of the incoming wave and a version that is inverted and phase-shifted.

The Mutants can also generate their own waveforms in both FM and Sync modes, so you don't have use another oscillator. Of course, the routing is flexible so you can choose the other oscillators as mod sources if you like.

It has been known to speak. The multi-faceted Hydrasynth filters are right in the thick of it. Filter 1 has 16 different models ranging from 1 to 8 poles, many with high-, band-, and low pass options. There is also a flexible vocal filter with formant control. Even if Filter 1 were the only filter the Hydrasynth had, it would take a lifetime to exhaust the possibilities. But it is not alone. Filter 2 is a 12dB per octave state-variable filter, which means it can sweep continuously from either low pass > bandpass > high pass or low pass > notch > high pass. It is similar to the classic SEM filter in many ways.
These two formidable filters can be configured in series or parallel. This means the one can feed and be sculpted by the other (series), or they can complement one another (parallel). With careful use of source panning in the Mixer module, the left and right outputs can be completely different or rich in unified complexity.

LFO's
5 Low-Frequency Oscillators

The Hydrasynth LFOs feature a STEP mode that lets you create patterns with up to 64 steps. Having 5 mini step sequencers gives you an amazing number of possibilities for further shaping your sound.
Of course, there are also 10 standard waveforms available, including Sample and Hold, Noise, and Random.
Each LFO has delay, fade in, 3 triggering modes, smoothing, start phase, BPM sync, and a One-Shot mode so that they can act as envelopes.
The version 2.0 LFOs have some exciting new features, including a Step option for the One-Shot mode that allows the Step wave to advance by one step per trigger.
And LFOs now can be quantized to create stepped values. It's like bit reduction for your LFOs.

Each envelope can be triggered by up to four different sources, and there's a Tap Trigger option too.
And now the envelopes can be quantized to different step levels as of version 2.0. Bit reduction strikes again!

Modulation Matrix
The modulation capabilities on the Hydrasynth are endless. With 32 user-definable Modulation matrix slots, there are plenty of ways to use the 35 modulation sources and 191 modulation destinations. Almost everything in the synth engine can be a modulation destination, including the effects and arpeggiator. The modulation routes themselves can also become modulation destinations, and can be targeted by the Macros too. Modulation sources & destinations include the CV Mod Out jacks as well as all 128 MIDI CCs. There are some hard-wired modulation routes located in other modules too. This means you don't have to burn up one of the 32 mod routes in the Modulation matrix to do certain basic functions.

Arpeggiator
The arpeggiator has all the standard arpeggio directions plus a few twists (up, down, and/or sideways, sort of). There's also a built-in phrase mode, and version 2.0 adds new features like Step Offset and increases the range to 6 octaves. Parameters like RATCHET and CHANCE will generate other semi-random rhythmic patterns to add life and spontaneity to your performance.

Notes: Quad Attenuator/Inverter, Splitter, and Offset Generator

Scale your audio or CV sources and route them to various destinations with this versatile utility. It consists of four identical unity gain amplifiers. Each amplifier can multiply an incoming signal by values ranging from 0 to 1 (for attenuation) or from 0 to -1 (for inverting attenuation). The input of each channel is normalled to the input of the next channel, allowing for easy signal routing from one input to the subsequent ones.

The first channel is normalled to 10V, enabling the module to function as an offset generator when no input is connected.

Redesigned from the ground up, the 45mm driver system boasts an excellent resolution, extremely low distortion and outstanding impulse behaviour. The TESLA.45 provides signal fidelity even at high volumes. Beyerdynamic's engineers have managed to combine studio-sound and flexibility thanks to weight-optimized materials. The DT 1990 PRO MKII has an impedance of 30 ohms, which means that the studio headphones can be used with a variety of end devices.

When it comes to sound, the reference headphones boast precise bass response right down to the lowest octaves. The slightly reduced highs compared to the previous model offer a high amount of information and help to avoid wrong decisions when mixing. Thanks to the wide soundstage, instruments and voices can be precisely pinpointed.

The sound transducers are manufactured at the company headquarters in Heilbronn, Germany. Each DT 1990 PRO MKII contains two TESLA.45 sound transducers, which are measured several times during the various production steps.

Maximum comfort

The DT 1990 PRO MKII is designed for several hours of use in the studio and offers outstanding comfort. The robust, flexible spring steel headband design ensures optimum contact pressure. Thanks to the skin-friendly velour ear pads, the headphones are comfortable to wear even during long sessions. The headband, consisting of soft memory foam and durable leatherette, adapts perfectly to the shape of the head. And thanks to the fontanelle recess, potentially pain-sensitive areas on the head are avoided. Both the headband and the ear pads can be replaced if necessary.

Two sound signatures

Designed to maximise flexibility, the DT 1990 PRO MKII is supplied with two different types of ear pads. The 'Producing Velours' fitted as standard deliver a full sound thanks to a slight bass boost. The 'Mixing & Mastering Velours' offer a more analytical sound. Two cables are also included: a 3m straight cable and a 5m coiled cable. Both cables have a lockable 3-pin mini-XLR plug. Everything is safely stored in a high-quality hard case.

Thanks to German manufacturing expertise, the DT 1990 PRO MKII sets the benchmark in workmanship and durability. The TESLA.45 driver systems are measured within tight tolerances several times during production. High-quality materials such as anodised metal and hard-wearing plastics make the DT 1990 PRO MKII a long-term investment. In the interest of sustainability, almost every part of the premium headphones can be replaced.

Notes: BOSS's iconic DD-3 Digital Delay has been a pedalboard staple since 1986, loved everywhere for its great sound and simple operation. With the DD-3T, we've updated the classic stomp with enhanced functionality while fully retaining the original's sound and control layout. It's now possible to tap in delay tempos using the onboard switch or an external one, with your choice of three beat subdivisions. And the direct output jack has been moved next to the main output, providing easier connectivity for wet/dry setups.

In continuous production for over three decades, the DD-3 has been the go-to delay stomp for countless players. Based on the DD-2-the world's first digital delay pedal from 1983-the DD-3 is revered for its warm, round delay tone and simple controls that let you dial in sounds fast. The DD-3T's sound circuitry and controls are identical to the DD-3, delivering every drop of that classic vibe you know and love.

A key addition the DD-3T brings is tap tempo, an essential feature for creating the rhythmic delay effects at the heart of many guitar styles. In delay mode, hold the pedal switch for two seconds to toggle between bypass and tap operation. And for on-demand tap control, simply connect an external footswitch. When the DD-3T receives tap input, up to 800 ms of delay time is available, and the Mode knob sets the tap subdivision (quarter-note triplet, dotted-eighth note, or quarter note).

The DD-3T features a direct output jack like the DD-3, but it's been moved next to the main output jack to make connections easier. Plugging a cable into the direct out converts the main out to delay only, allowing you to send wet and dry signals to different amps for wide, immersive sounds. And if your amp or switcher has a parallel effects loop, just connect a dummy plug to the direct out to mute the dry sound for effect-only blending.

The original DD-3 (and DD-2 before) included a forward-thinking Hold function, which allowed you to capture a sound up to 800 ms long, play it continuously, and jam over the top. Many years later, BOSS further developed this creative concept with the successful Loop Station products, which helped spawn the new musical style of live looping. The DD-3T includes the same Hold function as the DD-3, but it's been renamed "Short Loop" to reflect today's common usage.

Introduced in 1982, the OC-2 was the world's first modern octave pedal for guitar and bass. The OC-5's Vintage mode brings you the OC-2's iconic mono sound, coupled with improved response thanks to the new tracking engine. Enhanced Poly Mode

The OC-5 also features an evolved version of the smart Poly mode first introduced with the OC-3 Super Octave, letting you play full chords with octave effects. The variable Range knob restricts the effect to the lower notes on your instrument, perfect for playing octave bass lines alongside normal chords and melodies in the higher registers. And with the new tracking refinements, it's even possible to isolate the octave effect to the bottom note in a chord-just turn the Range knob to the "Lowest" setting.

Extended Range with Octave Up

Another cool OC-5 enhancement is the new octave-up effect, which is available in both Vintage and Poly modes. Simply twist the dedicated +1 OCT knob to bring in the desired effect level. Use the octave-up effect on its own for faux 12-string sounds and unique solo tones, or blend it with the octave-down effects for extended chord voicings and super-fat leads.

Guitar/Bass Switch and Direct Out

The OC-5 lets you instantly optimize the performance of its tracking engine for either guitar or bass via a dedicated switch on the body of the pedal. Modes

The EYESY comes with numerous pattern generators called modes.

Navigate the modes using buttons, and then tweak their visual appearance using five knobs. The modes respond to audio input in various ways; from smooth undulating patterns to rapid fire animations. The controls allow you to effect various elements of the patterns and colours. There is also a setting that allows the graphics to pile up in vibrant collages.

Save and Load

Store your current settings and screen grabs.

When you happen upon a setting that you like, press the scene save button to save it. This scene can now be recalled at a future time.

You can press the screen grab button to take a picture of the current frame, providing a quick way to generate interesting still images from your moving videos. Access all of your screen grabs from the browser-based interface.

MIDI Input

The EYESY's USB-MIDI & TRS-MIDI inputs offer a wide range of controllability.

Incoming MIDI Notes and Clock can change a mode's behaviour. The knobs can automated by sending MIDI controller messages from a sequencer or your favourite performance software. Program Change messages may also be sent to select your saved scenes.

Customise

Curate your EYESY for you.

You can add and remove the pattern generating modes to make the device as simple or complex as you like. The saved scenes are stored in a single file that can be saved and edited. All of the resources are managed through a simple-to-use web browser-based interface.

Coding

If you really want to go deep, you can also program your own modes for the EYESY.

Edit and create your own modes! The modes are all open source and based on an open platform. You can make changes to the modes and create new modes using the browser-based editor. Modes are written in the Python programming language.

Notes: The "uMM" combines a MIDI merger and two independent THRU distributors in a module that is only 4 HP wide. All sockets on the module are in MIDI TRS-B format.

At the heart of the two-input MIDI merger is a small, powerful ARM processor with plenty of buffer memory. Two MIDI streams are mixed to one output and can also be tapped via an additional second output. Two LEDs signal the operation of the merger: one LED indicates MIDI activity at the inputs, and a second LED warns of too much data at the inputs.

The second group of functions consists of two independent, separate MIDI THRU distributors. The MIDI data at the respective MIDI input can be picked up and distributed at the three THRU outputs. Focal Expertise

The 40mm aluminium-magnesium 'M' dome drivers provide linear frequency response, low distortion, and improved sound dispersion, resulting in highly accurate sound. Notes: The current G module is an updated version of the now-discontinued 2016 G. Its functions are the same as the old one, but it features significant design upgrades that improve its usability: the selectors for the group output's behavior are now on the front panel, and the knob is now 12 mm in diameter, like the new SC and QSC.

The G (Group) is a stereo module that blends the signals coming from the channels linked to it (up to eight) and manages their signal routing.

The G "puts into practice" all the information defined by the channels' controls: volume, effect send volume, stereo panning.

It consists of three sections: the amplitude controls (white) and the two effect sends and returns (yellow and green).

A switch lets you define the group outputs' behavior: it can be either the sum of all the channels and their effect return or just the wet signal.

The first option is great for smaller setups, where you can use the group as your system's output without a master module.

Should you have a master, the second option allows for more advanced effects parallel processing or multitrack recording.

As of today, the Group is the only module that does not require power, as a Channel powers it through its IDC cable.

The Mutant Rimshot is a fully analogue rimshot and clave generator inspired by the rimshot found in the legendary 909 drum machine; a triple bridged-T oscillator coupled with a state variable filter. The clave sound (not a feature of the original 909 rimshot) is achieved by using just one of the oscillators.

Rimshot HI mode brings classic rimshot sounds
Rimshot LO gives a lower pitch range; try playing with the filter on this setting to get low tom and kickdrum sounds.

DNVO-1 is a handmade, compact analog synthesizer from JMT Synth Its primary oscillator can be synced with three sub oscillators, each with a different range, as well as a noise source and wave generator. The latter source can be manipulated with the 3-speed random trigger for effective fluctuations within a single performance. The primary VCO is routed through a self-oscillating filter, which can sync with the VCO's frequency.

Notes: The JMT Synth NOISY MIC-2 is a unique vocal instrument and processor designed for extreme textures stemming from the human voice. The multiplexer circuit combines the microphone output with a switchable internal VCO, this mixed signal is then passed through a high-gain distortion equipped with an equalizer for final tone-shaping. The VCO can be modulated by an LFO or an external CV source for complex FM-like timbres. This combination of simple circuits forms a unique vocal processor with a wide range of timbres and effects. The microphone is outfitted with a mute switch, making it suitable for live performance.

Notes: The NOSC-12, from JMT Synth, is a 12 oscillator drone synthesiser, six main oscillators with six sub oscillators. There are frequency controls for each of the oscillators, including the sub oscillators, which also include sync switches for each of the oscillator pairs. Notes: The JMT RVO-3 is an analog noise synthesiser featuring 2 oscillators. 1 main oscillators with 1 sub oscillators paired to it. Each of the oscillators features their own frequency controls, and sync switches for each of the oscillators pairings allowing a wide range of textures. It has a main VCO with a frequency control knob and a push button allowing a short envelope to control the frequency. Additionally, controls for the waveshapes and stability of the VCO and sub frequency VCO allow for further manipulation of timbre.

Notes: The TVCO-2 is an analogue synth that is powered by a single DC9V~DC12V or 9V battery.

By touching the five sensors directly connected to the circuit of the analogue synth oscillator with your fingertips, the tone of the oscillator peculiar to thick analog synths changes in various ways.

Since it responds delicately, the tone changes depending on whether you touch it strongly or touch the sensor with or without touching it, and whether you touch two, three, or a combination.

The top two sensors are connected to the MAIN VCO and the SUB VCO for input to the VCF, so you can use this sensor to change the VCF (filter) with touch sense to create more complex tones.

The bottom three sensors are connected to the circuit of the MAIN VCO. This sensor can make a noisy change directly to the main sound output oscillator, and the way it changes changes with a combination of touches, such as touching it at the same time in combination with the touch of the SUB VCO.

With a simple structure of 2 VCOs and 1 VCF (band-pass and low-pass switchable), you can intuitively operate this equipment to create your own sounds.

The MAIN VCO and VCF have CV IN. By attaching a 3.5mm conversion jack, you can connect from sequencers, analog synths, and modular synths CV OUT for a wider variety of expressions.

Compared to cable patches and switches, subtle changes can be made instantly at the fingertips, so it is a model that can be controlled more sensitively.

The Field Kit boasts 7 separate functional blocks all focussed on receiving or generating all types of signals. They are designed to operate together as a coherent electroacoustic workstation or alternatively together with other pieces of music electronics with the ability to use control voltage signals.

The Four Channel Mixer is the beating heart of the Field Kit, providing a fully functional mixer with individual Gain, Mix Level and Tone control over each channel and individual Master- and Aux sub-mixes.

The level of the Master and Aux Channels can be set with the Master Volume and Aux Volume controls and the channels being sent to the Aux sub-mix can be set with dedicated Aux Select-buttons. The Aux sub-mix is pre-fader.

The CV Radio is a CV-controllable radio receiver capable of receiving radio frequencies on AM/FM and SW bands. Additionally it provides the ability to catch electromagnetic waves for further processing inside the Field Kit. The frequency of the radio can be set with a dedicated multifunctional Search-control which acts both as a manual CV-source and as an input attenuator for a CV-signal.

The Envelope Follower in the Field Kit applies two functions to the waveform you send to the input: full-wave rectification (mirroring of negative portions of the waveform) and low-pass filtering (averaging). It can also be used for frequency doubling of a signal, which is a great tool to have in the electroacoustic domain.

The Low Frequency Oscillator generates periodically varying voltages to be used as control signals. The output waveform can be set with a three-position Waveform-control and gives out either a Square-, Triangle- or a mix of Square and Triangle waveforms.

A very cool function of the Field Kit is the DC Interface. You can use its output voltages to run little motors, fans, solenoids, buzzers and control them with control voltage signals. You can pick up the vibrations and electromagnetic waves with the contact microphones and electromagnetic pickup.

The Signal Interface is a nifty toolset to transform the raw signals of a wide variety of sensors and switches into signals that can be used with the Field Kit or other gear. This means you can trigger or control sound by light, heat, humidity, distance, speed, acceleration, proximity, pressure, force, level, all depending on what type of switch or sensor you are using! Ideal for sound installations!

Notes: Electromagnetic pickup for use with the Field Kit.

Use this to pick up electromagnetic signals from anything that has an electromagnetic field, like electronics devices, screens, power adapters, lamps, displays, phones, motors, laptops and so on.

Double Knot v3

The Double Knot v3 is a small generative synthesizer with two voices and corresponding sequencers. This instrument has a simple architecture which is capable of a wide variety of sounds, including rhythms and drum patterns or textural and grating noise sounds. The interface is made up of knobs, switches, and banana plugs for patching. The two voices of this device each consist of a triangle/square wave oscillator, a shift register sequencer, an enveloper, and a voltage controlled amplifier. A clock sets the tempo of the shift registers.

The voices of the Double Knot are pre-wired, in a linear chain of functional blocks. The patch points are available to route modulations, influencing the simple linear voices. The game of this device is to investigate the relationships between the elements of the synth using the knobs, switches and patch-points.

FAQ

How many banana cables do I need? and what length?

8 or 10 cables around 12" long is a great start.

Can I patch this with my other synth?

Only what is safe for this synth. The banana ports of this device can handle max +/- 8V at all inputs and outputs assuming at least a 1k output impedance in the other device. The response range of the voltage inputs is ~1.2v - 8V (range of a TL07x powered by 9V).

Is this synth good by itself, or does it rely on other devices to be useful?

Some good sounds can be had using this device and a handful of banana cables.
