Fasme - "Crying Robot" (5:20)
CCO - "Solar Sail" (5:36)
Unwonted - "Frontier" (4:40)
Serge Geyzel - "Flash" (5:19)
Review: Analog Concept Vol. 3 delivers a striking collection of forward-thinking deep techno, blending electro, acid, and sci-fi elements to push boundaries across its four tracks. Fasme opens with 'Crying Robot', a standout acid electro monster that's both raw and energetic, setting the tone with its sharp, robotic intensity. CCO's 'Solar Sail' follows, bringing a darker, sci-fi edge to the mix. Its blend of EBM and new beat creates a timeless, futuristic trip that feels immersive and cinematic. Side-2 kicks off with Unwonted's 'Frontier', a high-energy electro track laced with trance elements, adding a hypnotic, rave-ready vibe. Serge Geyzel closes the compilation with 'Flash', a heavy-hitting deep electro cut that dives into darker, alien soundscapes. Its deep techno undercurrents enhance the track's sense of foreboding and mystery. Overall, Analog Concept Vol. 3 captures a thrilling array of deep, futuristic sounds. Take a journey through techno's more experimental and atmospheric realms with this Russian label. Each track stands strong on its own while contributing to the cohesive, forward-thinking vision of the compilation.

Review: Reade White has many aliases to his name, including Caustic Everything and Fiction Life, but the Fate 258 moniker is the one that has grabbed our attention the most thanks to the excellent Why 2K? EP that came out in 1999 on Path - still a digger's favourite and a gorgeous piece of techno. He's back out of the blue on Path with the dark and molecular sonics of "Path To Hell" on the A-side, followed by the slower and more hypnotic "Path To Heaven", and the wonky sways of electro in "Heaven Or Hell"; both the B-side tunes are the ones for the corner dwellers. Sick; please do not sleep on this.

Review: The fifth release on Kimchi Records comes wrestled from the hands of Ecuadorian mastermind Fauna Extinta, aka. Nicola Cruz. The First EP under the alias, we hear Nicola make use of electro analogia to explore idea of a biology that once was, but no longer is, and now lingers only in memory or myth. Drawing on ideas of creation, biogeography, evolution and extinction, the likes of 'Everything Is A Green Screen' and 'Features Of Human Beings' serve as biosynthetic, existential meditations on change, urging us to imagine new realms, alternative means for actualizing the human spirit.

Forging New Paths (5:23)
Review: Faut Section is Lewis Fautzi's own label its last trick of the year is another brilliant one. Fautzi's take on techno will be familiar to anyone who likes it deep and classy and that's just what you get from the opener 'Uncharted Realms'. The drums are punchy but the mood is stripped back and designed to make you move. 'Enlightenment' is an edgy one with synths dangled above the loopy beats in an unsettling fashion, then 'Time & Space' ups the ante with burrowing basslines and leaner drums for late night marching. 'Forging New Paths' shuts down with icy percussion snaking its way between rooted, rolling drums. Stripped back and stylish perfection.

Total Absence
Paranoia
Ground State
Uncertainty
Review: Lewis Fautzi is a Portuguese techno mainstay who now heads back to a home label PoleGroup for four more cuts of high pressure dance floor dynamite. He opens his account with the dense and dusty sounds of ''Total Absence' which his powered by slamming drums and has all manner of howling winds blowing by that add to the intensity of sound. 'Paranoia' sounds like just that as it layers up unsettling pads and walls of brushed metal drums that roll on like a behemoth. 'Ground State' brings pinging kicks and bass to the fore as fizzing static buzzes across the whole arrangement and 'Uncertainty' closes out a gritty EP of stripped back and menacing techno with a subtle hint of trance-inducing melody.

Review: The industrially minded Still Distant Records is based between Glasgow and Copenhagen and Ethan Fawkes is next up to take the baton. He brings some heavy, stomping EBM vibes to this 12" with his one original track. 'Dancefloor EBM.' It's brutal, raw, and distorted with police sirens lighting it up and dark vocals adding extra menace. The Adriano Canzian is even more caustic, Delectro brings some fierce techno drums to the undercarriage and the Paulitical is another turbocharged stompathon.

Review: We're able to see the vanguard of New York techno with clearer eyes thanks to this new EP from Holden Federico, whose mission statement is to reinvent the early grittiness of incipient techno sounds for the present day. 'Inner Order' collects four rough and minimally-produced cuts. Review: There is something of an original 90s feel to the techno explored on this new drop from Holden Federico on the SK Eleven label: it is hard and fast, stripped-back but packed with atmosphere and also comes with artwork that harks back to the great work of Jeff Mill on Axis. After a cinematic and scene-setting opener, it's heads down on 'Myth' then 'Corner of the Room' brings some flashy synth light and 'The Beginning & The End traps you in suspenseful loops that never resolve. Two further cuts bring more physical techno thrills.

This most timeless release features the legendary Federsen alongside the innovative talents of Yagya and Ohm who are in remix mode. Each track on this 12" delves into minimalism and sonic depth to make for rather profound grooves that sweep you up and never let you go. Review: Italian DJ and producer and Afrotemplum co-founder, Feel Fly, revisits the sunned, balearic mood of his childhood on this early-stage career definer of an EP. As a series, 'Mediterranean Dreams' lets the light in on only the haziest of sonic visions, letting in island stenches and coconut skitters between the palms. Everything from dub, ambient, balearic and kraut is here channelled into a realised smattering of deep trance, tittilating the senses with an echoic foray into navel-gazing reverie.

Inner Zone (6:35)
Review: Since he last appeared on Apron in 2014, Adam "Ex-Terrestrial" Feingold has put out impressive material on 1080p, L.P.C and Temple. This return to Steven Julien's imprint is every bit as essential. A-side cut "Ascension" is particularly thrilling, fusing as it does his love of dreamy, rave-era chord progressions, intelligent techno style psychedelic electronics, and the kind of clanking, bombastic machine drums so often found at the heart of Apron releases. As if keen to give dancers a bit of a breather, flipside "Inner Zone" is an altogether deeper and dreamier affair, with squidgy acid bass, fluctuating cymbal lines and horizontal chords stretching out over a head-nodding kick-drum pattern.

Review: This is a new EP that was inspired by a volcano and named after Mount Etna which is where Mirko Felicioli lives, and which is why it has been pressed up to red vinyl. It features five fresh techno cuts starting with 'Lava Waves' which is lively and elastic, with soft synth patterns moving about the mix over acid lines and crisp drums. 'Grave & Weep' has a deeper, dirtier vibe, while 'Aeolus' has a cosmic outlook with thinking stars and lots of open space around the drums. Two further cuts blend tech and house into future-facing and club-ready weapons.

Review: Shout out to the Palinoia label for here niching up its tenth release, and another stylish and stripped-back techno outing it is too. Feph is handed the controls for this one and 'Kinetics' opens up with the sort of smooth and silky lines and drum rhythms that lock you into a meditative state in an instant. 'Reasons Unknown' follows a similar linear and loopy path but with some brighter daubs of synth colour that pulse up top like distant stars. 'Low Immortals' is a little more dark and moody with fizzing static electricity and underlapping bass, then 'Settlement Research' shuts down with airy broken beats and sci-fi designs that are abstract and charming.

Review: Clarifying its vision ahead of its ambient and en-tranced origins laid out earlier this year, Sense Code's third release solidifies the Northern Italian label as a hub for introspective and refined electronic music. Following last winter's split EP, 'Sense 003' embraces a multi-artist approach, all the while further establishing Italy's baton-bearing role in deep techno. Formant Value's dynamic downtempo standout 'Deep Core' unfolds with ingenious, perpetual motive basslines set against penumbral textures, while crisper percussive nuances unfold across Biocym's dark forestation on the B-side, 'Forest Blackout'.

Review: Luigi Tozzi and Feral join forces on Aube Rouge for a seriously deep outing. The pair cook up four collaborative tracks that are sure to appeal to fans of techno stylists like Dozzy and Neel, such is the deftness of the designs and the heady, hypnotic nature of the rhythms. 'Neon' is first and is all sub-aquatic sound and rolling drums. 'Enigma' keeps you in a hypnotic state with subtle bell loops over pulsing drums and bass and the flip is no less involving: 'Third Eye' is minimal, ambient laced deep techno sophistication and 'Trip No Trip' rounds out with a little more propulsion but no less a cinematic design.

Review: Paris' Ferdinger sends a welcome affirmation our way with 'Keep Going', his latest five-track EP for Life In Patterns. The label owner and producer nails his imprint's intended colourful yet energetic sound here, riffing of classic soundbites with clever titular puns that give rise to phat, memorable tunage: 'An Order To Dance' might as well qualify as an NWO, with it transitional delays and muted voxxes, while 'High Voltage' conveys the biting feel of being shocked out of one's wits by an exposed wire whose output voltage lies just below fatal. Closer 'Mind At Ease' rounds off on a surprise breakbeat dream, making for the EP's paradoxically deep peak.

Review: Spacey techno should almost be a sub-genre today with the amount of influence the genre has. Well, this album takes the cake with production that is equal to the description. A true journey through spacey ambient techno, with each track showcasing his signature style of blending atmospheric soundscapes with deep, driving rhythms. The EP opens with 'Critical Functions', a celestial ambient intro that the expansive journey ahead. 'Haumea' follows with a tight beat and swirling atmosphere, pushing deep techno into hypnotic territory. 'Sidequest' continues this cosmic exploration, with sparse, eerie elements creating a vast, dense sound. On the second side, 'Unbound' ramps up the tempo while maintaining a melodic, ambient feel. The soothing yet energizing beat provides a perfect balance between calm and rush, a great example at Fernie's ability to craft emotive soundscapes. The EP closes with 'Critical Functions (Ness Vision),' a well-produced remix that brings flighty, uplifting sounds to the forefront, delivering a more intense, high-energy finish. Overall, this release from the Scottish producer is a great combination of ambient textures and deep, melodic techno.

Review: Fi-Lo returns with his fourth release on Alphaville Records and it might be his best yet. Drawing from 90s tech house influences, the artist adds his own signature spin to a set of four dynamic tracks designed for the dancefloor. The cheekily named 'Shaggin' Wagon' is a fluid blend of light and shadow, with acid and breaks setting the tone. Closing the EP, 'LA-Z BOY' introduces a laid-back vibe enriched with eclectic samples and a nice smooth flow.

Review: Gritty, urban, wacky and crushed are four descriptors that immediately spring to mind when sticking on Fiction Life's new EP for Basic Moves. These six subterranean crunchers are the sonic equivalent of chowing down on dirt. Crud and dust fills our ears as we try to make out the most human aspects of this parched and barren soundscape, whether that be the tummy-rubbing gluttony of 'Cerebrum Crush' or the trancey, sonic spectrum-scooper 'The Present Moment'. It's no wonder this music is so advanced in sound; its maker Reade Truth is a revered Brooklynite dance artist and 'techno eternalist', credited for building the world's first techno discography database in 1995, well before Discogs. So, yeah, without Fiction Life, the culture of obsessive music cataloguing that feeds into your desire to peruse the Juno website might not exist - we're sure that should be enough to pique your interest.

Fidelio's A-side offers three cuts that fuse 90s acid rawness with baroque drama that results in a unique mix of classical organ melodies and razor-sharp basslines. Punchy kicks and sizzling hi-hats drive the energy as you're happily lost on a neon-lit techno odyssey. On the flip, Piermattei's 'Gas' features a fluid bassline and glitching robotic vocals that are eerie yet inviting and 'Third Rec' (with Tascam 122) rounds out the release with pulse-driven electro and intricate percussion, perfect for late-night explorations.

Review: Berlin techno stalwart Fiedel serves up some more reissues of effective DJ tools on Fiedeltwo. This time around we have a 2021 Remaster of 'Doors To Manual' which was featured originally on Berghain (where he's resident) compilation Funf back in 2010. It's a typically wonky and off-kilter cut by him that showcases a truly singular approach to techno. Over on the flip, Kyiv's Espen Lauritzen contributed 'F/T/S' to Fiedel's very own mix for the esteemed Berlin club's mix series, the eighth to be precise, and it too gets a 2021 remaster. A pounding warehouse techno workout in the vein of classic Djax Up Beats, this one's serious.

Review: Only 100 copies of this mystical and deeply moody 12" from Zimp Recordings main man Filthy Rich, meaning you'll have to act fast if you want one. It's well worth picking up though, not least because opener 'The Kraken (Davy Jones Mix)' is a deliciously clandestine chunk of underwater techno full of nightmare-inducing spoken word vocals and creepy electronics. The EP's other significant moment is 'Two Tone Bass', a stomping slab of fuzz-soaked industrial techno that remixer Randolph also turns into a slamming, lo-fi techno assault on the senses. Elsewhere, 'Wiff Waff (Wallpaper Mix)' is a bouncy techno roller that (somewhat hilariously) samples speeches by Alexander Boris De Pfeffel Johnson, and 'Stinky Funk' is a thrusting masterclass in weighty techno-funk.

Review: Filth Rich gets suitably filthy on this fresh outing on Zimp. His Rave EP collides many different influences from techno to electro, acid to rave, and also chucks in some classic samples to really make the tunes pop. The first is a peak-time breakbeat bruiser with slapping hits and yelping vocals, then 'Hippies Gathering' is a prog techno classic from the late 90s Castle Morten rave scene. Randolph offers his own Filthy Rave remix that gets even more wild and included along the way are some sample-tactic snippets to liven up your set no end.

Walking
Lagoon
Go To Sleep
Bang
Review: Italian nightclub and label Sound Department issues a new ministerial decree come EBM-infused techno EP by one Fisherman. Angling big hauls of raw and raunchy, yet still ethereal dance builds, the DJ and producer flexes both vocal and production chops here. 'Walking' is a duly strange track, with wordless vocals gliding across cutting FM syntheses, whilst 'Lagoon' sounds to reflux a so far unidentifiable form of alien sonic bile. 'Go To Sleep' brings back the energy with a wackier, one-shot-voxxing turn, while closer 'Bang' hears the EP save its full-bodied heaviness for last, being the track with the least sensitivity and most bulk, as a commandeering voice booms over the tannoy.

Kyo_O - "Releaser Fucking" (LeeloO Hardcoholics remix) (5:15)
Review: Only a hard techno label would be brazen enough to call itself Danger Wank. There is much more worth investigating here though than just the semantics: Fist Of Fury grabs you by the throat with its overdriven percussive loops and flat, slamming drums on 'Minimaythm Demoniae.' It sounds like what happens when you have too many windows open on your computer with sound playing from one that crashes. Al Core brings squealing synths and horrorcore sleaze to '007 Bald Frenchcore' and Celsius tickles the inner war with the abstract sounds and malfunctioning drum patterns of 'L'Appel Du Vide.' Kyo_O's 'Releaser Fucking' gets a brutal LeeloO Hardcoholics remix to close down this serious sonic assault.

Wait A Second (feat MC R1bbz) (6:41)
Trance, Init? (6:41)
Review: Alan Fitzpatrick returns to Drumcode, marking his first appearance since late 2016 when he remixed Moby's hit "Porcelain".The release opens with "Brian's Proper Dun One", a track which caused a storm on his Twitter profile when he first started playing it last year. Loaded with sharp and pounding drums, this is a no holds barred, certified main room anthem! "Wait A Second" has been getting a lot of play on Drumcode Radio of late. This rave inspired track takes a raw, stripped back approach and delivers a killer blow. Alan sampled the vocals of MC r1bbz from an LTJ Bukem tape pack from the early 90s and the record tips its cap to early jungle raves around the M25. The release closes with "Trance, Init?" a homage to Fitzpatrick's days as a raver before he became a DJ. The breakdown is sure to be a hands in the air moment at festivals all over the globe this summer.

Near End (5:30)
Review: Five Ten's Near End EP, released on Flight Mode, is a masterclass in fusing nostalgia with modern techno. The EP seamlessly blends various influences, making it a refreshing and exciting listen. 'Destructive Habits' kicks off the EP with a powerful mix of EBM and classic 90s techno percussion and rhythm. Its energy is relentless, setting the tone for what's to come. 'Evil Forces' dives into darker territory with its Belgian-style early 90s techno sounds. The track's mid-tempo heater vibe and excellent use of acid make it a standout, packed with thrilling sonic elements. 'Decentralized' takes a unique approach, progressing more like an industrial/EBM track in the vein of Clock DVA more than traditional techno. This distinctive difference adds an higher level to the production and intriguing layer to the EP. The title track, 'Near End,' incorporates elements of trance, electro, and even new wave. The result is a rich blend of great-sounding electronics that feels both fresh and nostalgic. Overall, Near End EP is a stellar example of how to harness EBM into techno done right, blending past influences into a modern package.

Unovidual & Tara Cross - "Imponative" (3:28)
Review: Thanks to the eternally revered Minimal Wave imprint, out of NYC, Mark Phillips and Robert Lawrence's Five Times Of Dust project is going through a bit of a revival. The duo had first released some post-punk cassettes back in the 80s, and they clearly have not been forgotten. On this new remix EP, "Computer Bank" is given a makeover in the form of a The Floor remix, who proceeds to add all sorts of quirkiness over the tune's tough, heavy bass and driving rhythm; "Armoured Car" breaks the 4/4 in favour of something much closer to the band's original drum machine style. Once again, on the flip, we have a remix of "Like I Am, Comme Je Suis" by The Floor, who throws up a gnarly electro bass onto shady, neo-romantic vocals, and the whole things is finished off by "Imponative" from Unovodual and Tara Cross, who produce a slow, heady industrial groove for the dancefloor.

Review: Onetime halftime exclusivist Fixate has set his sights on new temporal horizons. 'Conundrum' is one such dance musical venture, clocking in at a rough 130ish BPM while also securing enough of an atmospheric likeness to earlier releases so as to remain Fixated on the same vibe. A six-track mini-album debuting on the artist's resident Exit Records, 'Conundrum' flaunts a formerly undisclosed affection for house, electro and techno; in the artist's own words, "I made these tracks to fit into my own DJ sets, bridging the gap between tempos when playing out." Functional intentions do often still lead to excessively wicked results and the tracks here all provide a serious underfoot scalding, their 808 snares and underhand grimey melodies sure to make you hoo, hah, suck teeth and dance.
