Dan Aikido - "0800Tx4Herb" (4:47)
Ernie Ruso - "Stroke It" (3:53)
DJ Nomad - "African Boy" (3:55)
Jona J - "A Change Will Come" (6:25)
Review: Many Hands is a fresh label helmed by Jona Jefferies and Kava that here kicks out an eclectic EP with four tracks from various members of its musical family. Dan Aikido opens with '0800 TXT4 Herb,' a smooth fusion piece that builds a laid-back groove, blending fretless bass, jazzy keys and soulful vocals all reminiscent of Rare Silk's 'Storm.' Ernie Ruso's 'Stroke It' offers slow, sensual r&b infused with P-funky wah-wah effects while DJ Nomad's 'African Boy' brings upbeat pop house next to funky organ and a female reggae MC.Jefferies' closer 'A Change Will Come' samples Dr. Martin Luther King Jr with a rave-inspired beat and soulful piano. Cracking stuff.

Whisper Wood (5:03)
Animarara (6:06)
The Life Of Larry (4:00)
Review: Florence-born Ricardo Baez has been making moves for more than a decade. He heads up his own party and has landed on cult labels like Live At Robert Johnson and Mule Musiq, which is where he returns now with four more cultural deep house offerings. 'A Sunny Day In Florence' is as warm and breezy as you'd hope from the title, while 'Dark Room' is a jumble of live broken beats, bongos and haunting synths for a steamy workout. 'Whisper Wood' is acid, Balearic style, and 'Animarara' taps into a percussive and wiggy tech house groove. 'The Life Of Larry' is feathery, jazzy and late night house excellence. Baez masters many different styles on this standout EP.

Laguna (5:39)
Just Beyond The Sun (5:32)
Review: Celebrated composer, producer, techno talent and ambient craftsman John Beltran is a real Detroit don and now he is back on one of the city's own labels, Motor City Wine, with Volume 4 of Back To Bahia on 7". This one finds him going even deeper than before, starting with 'Laguna', which will soon uplift you with its Afro-Brazilian drums and live bass from James Simonson next to lush keys. 'Just Beyond The Sun' then gets fully Balearic with its mix of sultry trumpet, shuffling and Latin-tinged rhythms and wispy cosmic chords. A real delight.

Waiting For The Typhoon To Pass (4:05)
Dream Universe (4:54)
Review: The cover of this new one from Tomi Chair is a whole lot darker, more menacing and moodier than the music within. 'Waiting For The Typhoon To Pass' is in fact a beautifully plaintive sound with a slow, calming rhythm. Gentle chords are draped over the top and no one is in an hurry to go anywhere as curious synth keys come and go like passing memories. On the flip, 'Dream Universe' is a more propulsive sound with metallic drums cascading over raw hits and distant winds howling with a hint of danger.

Shapes (Dreaming mix) (5:29)
Up There (5:34)
Review: Banana Hill is a genre hopping club, DJ duo (JVC & Cervo) and record label founded in Manchester, 2010. Afrocentric, global dancefloor sounds of the past, present and future by the likes of Moroccan legend Majid Bekkas, XOA & Contours and Jinku have been previously featured. This new one by local producer Clay shows a breadth of dancefloor influences spanning broken beat like on 'People Floating', classic '90s house as heard on 'Shapes' (Dreaming mix) and the neon-lit night drive of 'Up There' heading into nu-disco territory.

Free Your Mind (4:20)
Review: Lorenzo Dewberry manages to fuse the house music poles of Chicago and Detroit on this mind-expanding and cosmic new house EP for Excursions. He is a relative newcomer with credits on labels like Ten Lovers Music and is already in a class of his own, given how musically and lush these tunes are. 'You're Enough (feat Janet Coco)' is a down-by-the-sea-at-sunset gem with Balearic chords and far-sighted reverie, 'Open Skies' is just as much of a sonic daydream with a gentle groove and then an Anthony Nicholson remix layers in some nice nimble jazz keys and pixelated leads. 'Free Your Mind' is a downbeat, jazzy lullaby to close.

Sun Circles (Alexander Flood live rework) (4:24)
Sun Circles (John Beltran Project remix) (6:10)
Review: Australian-based artist Gratts wrote 'Sun Circles' as an empowerment anthem for his two sons and it dropped to plenty of acclaim last year. In its wake, Gratts DJed with Adelaide's multi-talented Alexander Flood on percussion and after some conversations he was enlisted to bring his jazz background to a remix of the original. He did so live as part of a quintet and the result is a super summery, airy rework with soulful vocals that linger long in the air. Michigan-based techno and ambient maestro John Beltran appears on the flip to bring a classy Balearic remix that will have you dreaming of longer, warmer nights and plenty of sun-kissed dancing fun

Sundays With U (GT remix) (7:16)
Review: Gratts returns with a release that perfectly balances club-ready energy and laid-back vibes. The opening track, 'Sunsets (FBI Mix)', pays tribute to Sydney's DJ Simon Caldwell, blending dubby West Coast deep house influences with smooth, atmospheric vocals from Lesley Williams. On 'Sundays With U (Neapolitan Mix)', Gratts delves into jazzy, bruk-inspired sounds with a standout soprano sax performance by Andreas Poppelbaum and lyrics in the Neapolitan dialect from Ambra. The 'GT Remix' of 'Sundays With U' shifts gears, enhancing the original with a deep, dancefloor-focused rhythm. Gratts and his collaborators create a textured release that's as suited for radio as it is for late-night sets.

Spank Dat (5:40)
Just No! (5:09)
Review: Brighton-based producer Pierson brings a refreshing diversity to his deep house and disco house offerings, blending multiple influences with an ease that keeps his tracks exciting and unpredictable. 'Forget It Mate' starts off with a slow groove that feels like a nostalgic nod to vintage deep house, but it's much moreithis track is a skillful blend of old-school vibes and modern energy. It seamlessly moves between different styles, creating a dynamic and infectious vibe. 'Mr Miami' follows with a lively piano-driven melody, uplifting the listener with its ambient house feel, where lush chords and smooth transitions create a feel-good atmosphere. On Side-2, 'Spank Dat' is a funky standout. With its rich groove and rare disco aura, it's a killer track for any dancefloor, offering a unique fusion of genres. Finally, 'Just No!' dives into a tribal, electro-driven territory. Its organic yet robotic funk takes on an 80s electro feel, offering a quirky, dynamic sound that pushes boundaries. This EP delivers something for everyone, effortlessly blending styles while staying rooted in deep, groove-driven house. A true example of the producer's range and creativity.

Review: Relative newcomers Infradisco blend a Balearic sound of disco and house for the Italian label Archeo Recordings. Aqua Cheta is a blend of proper electronic examples of Balearic and chill out influences. 'Caduca' (Hear & Now remix) is ideal for the late-night scene with a blend a perfect blend of 80s and 90s but still sounding futuristic. Manu Archeo's remix of 'Dulcis' is a beautiful laid back downtempo jam that shimmers like a hazy day on the beach. We think you will like the organic and mystical 'Fluminea' as well. This EP couldn't finish any better than on the ambient tip with a soul warming float on the marina remix by Ocean Moon. Fans of Balearic, Cafe Del Mar and chill out music will treasure this EP no doubt. This 12" comes with a CD as well.

What Is This World Coming To? (NA mix) (6:36)
Here We Go Again (6:29)
Review: Miami-based label Terrestrial Funk revives the sound of early 90s house with a long-overdue return from Insight, their first new material in over 30 years. Originally emerging from the UK scene and known for their 1993 output on Strictly Rhythm, the group reappear here with three fresh house tracks and one unreleased downtempo dub, all steeped in the warmth and spirit of that golden era. 'Starry Eyed' and 'Spring' combine tactile keys with swinging, classic drums, while Ashaye's vocal lines weave emotional clarity through each groove. The previously unheard 'Na Mix' of 'What Is This World Coming To?' flips the tempo, stretching things into a dubbed-out meditation that slows the pulse without losing intensity. 'Here We Go Again' rounds things off with a shuffling rhythm that lands somewhere between warehouse and sun-drenched terrace. Nostalgic yet agile, this is a quietly triumphant return that reaffirms Insight's place in UK house history.

Review: Cannonball Records' Tesla Groove is now embarking on a brand new collaboration with Italy's Irma Records. First up is this, a first ever pressing of 'Straight to You' and 'I'm Gonna Love You' on the same 7". They are by Acid Jazz collective Jestofunk, which was made up of three Italian DJs namely Claudio Moz-Art Rispoli, Francesco Farias and Blade and Alessandro Staderini. They dropped a fine album in 1994, Love in a Black Dimension, from which these tunes are taken. The A-side is a flute led jazz-fusion cut with summery warmth and lavish arrangements, and the flip is a disco tinged scorcher with mid-tempo drums, sustained strong synths and a great soul vocals.

Review: John Beltran's 'Serendipia' gets a fresh remix treatment on Oath Records, blending deep house with Latin-infused rhythms. Kicking off Side-1, Danilo Plessow injects 'Sa Coma Blue' with a vibrant groove, stretching it to an engaging groove Kareem Ali brings warmth to 'Cachaca', layering soulful textures over its Afro House foundation, while Melodiesinfonie keeps things smooth and sun-kissed with 'Suenos Soleados,' a short yet sweet journey. Side-2 opens with Session Victim's rework of 'Ask Anlari', a jazzy deep house number that strikes the right balance between rhythm and melody. Fila Brazillia's remix of 'Em Trancoso' leans into a Balearic vibe, giving it a breezy, laid-back feel. Xique-Xique rounds out the collection with 'Yangu Milele', adding earthy percussion and a rich melodic flow. A brilliant, diverse take on John Beltran's work, this release shines with musical depth and global influences.

Turbotito & Ragz - "Pyaar" (Lovey dubby dub) (5:20)
Review: Naya Beat's modus operandi is to champion the OG sounds of the South Asian underground through the lenticular funnel of dance music. Their latest in this effort is a breakout wonder in V/A form, herding together three contemporary club titans for a jolly trans-national dialogue over the original stylings of an inimitable key player in proliferation of Bhangra music, Manjeet Kondal. The late great Kondal hears one original piece, 'Pyaar', reissued, alongside two exclusive versions of 'Ishkaan De Mamle' by digger extraordinaire Mr. Scruff, followed by a closing, straight-from-the-stems downtempo acid dub tribute by modern day remixers and DJs Turbotito & Ragz. This is an honorific tribute to the crossection of late 80s to early 90s Bhangra music with acid house, carefully modelled after the aesthetic sensibilities of the time.

Tears From Stars (DJ Monchan remix) (5:43)
Review: After two long years, Dailysession has decided to reboot its popular DSR House EP series. As with its' three predecessors, volume four is a split affair. Montreal-based Jonattan Levingstone, co-founder of Parages Music, handles side A, first delivering a deep, immersive, dubby and space-heavy epic (the soft-touch, sunrise-ready hypnotism of 'Licorella') before doffing a cap to Japanese great Sprinkes and Italian ambient house of old on the gorgeous and enveloping 'Nufsaid'. Label head honcho DJ Monchan takes over on the flip. 'Eyes', a decidedly Balearic collaboration with Alfonsso Bottone, sits somewhere between musically detailed Kyoto Jazz Massive style nu-jazz and blissful deep house, while 'Tears From Stars (DJ Monchan Remix)' sees him turn a lesser-known version of a familiar song (Sting's 1987 number 'Fragile') into a Balearic house shuffler.

Review: The artwork for this new 12" from the System 108 label is eccentric enough to make you want to check out the music even if you don't know the artists. It's the sort of cover that suggests the music will be left of centre and quirky and that it is. 'Sao Januario' is a deep and lazy groove with sunny chords and jazzy keys that take you to the global south. 'Sunny Villa On A Distant Planet' is a twisted disco cut with house leaning drums and big cowbells under intergalactic synth lines. 'Rolando Nascer Do Sol' then rides a crisp electro breakout to keep you on your toes and 'OWL WCS' slows down for a cuddly back-to-mine style closer.

Review: Matt Edwards and Joel Martin have done many fantastic remixes as Quiet Village, but little tops their 2007 'deep space' version of Mudd's 'Spielplatz'. Originally released on a relatively limited 12" by U.S label Rong Music, it reimagined the track as an epic slow-motion chugger that combined cosmic, spaced-out, turn-of-the-90s deep house synth sounds and metronomic dub disco bass with locked-in beats, echo-laden (sampled) spoken word vocals and all manner of intergalactic effects. This essential (and once again highly limited) reissue boasts the duo's famous - and deliciously epic - original 'Deep Space Dub' on side B, with the pair's vocal free (and previously unreleased) 'instrumental mix' on side A. Review: Conrad McDonnell delivers four new Balearic-club cloggers for the Mudd imprint, Muddying the waters with a counter-intuitively serene, crystalline multi-mix refractor, 'Eighty Three'. McDonnell is famous for his wild and effects-laden dub mixes, both as a solo remixer and alongside long-time musical partner Dan Tyler as the Idjut Boys. Building on this impressive career focus, he's back with yet another case of signature wildout FX, which in this case subtly build from a mood of acidic, low-stakes mystique, before upping the antics with the various versions on offer, these being the 'Uppity Dub', the 'Uppity Dub Again', and a signatory 'Conrad McDonnell Dub'. The 'Again' version is especial, oscillating between a strident Balearic pump and an unpredictable set of swelling, eructing, fall-broken, beatless moments.

Review: Antonio Ocasio's latest outing for his own Tribal Winds imprint is yet another characteristic Afro-Latin groove swang. As ever, Ocasio infuses the mixable quantic calcines of deep house with the live instrumentation endemic to much Afro-Cuban music, producing a solid straddling of danceability and naturalism. A1 'Afro Beat Forever' does its utmost to inspire the potency of the Afrobeat genre, stepping up the default tempo to a solid 120ish while fervent "hey" shouts and unhurried horns embellish the mix; while, in equal measure, does the inverse 'Boleka', featuring respective vocalist and producer Toshi and Jephte Guillaume, work in the vivid vocals, cosmic guitar solos and diatonic chords that only a true lounge-grounded groove could muster.

Review: REPRESS ALERT!: Pinky Perzelle, aka Sonny Rooney's debut 'No Games' featuring Eda Eren, is a true labour of love and an ode to his total passion and dedication to multi instrumental record creation without compromise. Almost every instrument was recorded and played by Perzelle at his home studio. Featuring the utterly unique, impassioned and reassuring vocals of British-Turkish artist, Eda Eren, and additional drums from world renowned Malcolm Catto (The Heliocentrics). The lead track is a timeless, heartfelt, funk-ladened portal into a world reminiscent of a cinematic movie scene or an undiscovered gem from another era all-together. The hypnotic 'Remix' from Velvet Season & The Hearts Of Gold aka Gerry Rooney & Joel Martin, introduces subtle electronica and dubbed out instrumentation. A true lesson in after hours, left-field Balearica. Pinky's own 'Electronic Mix' references early house music and broken-beat electronic drums. Review: While Moodymann has an undeniable claim to being the world's premier jazz-house fusionist - though we doubt the Detroiter would think of his sublime dancefloor productions that way - the style was arguably pioneered and perfected by French producers such as Ludovic Navarre AKA St Germain. Paris may not be the jazz-house colossus it once was, but there are still new acts emerging - amongst them S Pazz, a debutant trio who here make their bow on Pont Neuf Records. Taking cues from DJ Gregory's Africanism project as well as homegrown jazz-house of old, the threesome flit between slowly unfurling, Cinematic Orchestra style numbers ('Passing Times'), picturesque, deep and melodious nu-jazz/organic house fusion ('Quali Kalimba'), Tourist-era St German (the frankly brilliant 'We And The Sea') and more exotic, percussion-rich jazz/house fusion ('Desired Unity').

Each track is a mix of warmth and introspection, from the sunrise-soaked melodies of 'Banana Candy' to the deep, rhythmic elegance of 'Remember the Feeling (of Love).' Collaborating with Wes Maples on 'Canvas,' Blanc layers saxophone and lush textures to stunning effect. This album is a testament to his evolving artistry and is an immersive soundtrack for life's most cherished moments.

On My Mind (feat LYMA & Elf Tranzporter - Inkswel remix) (5:46)
Review: Ed Temple takes things back to the glory age of seminal clubs like Paradise Garage and The Loft with this fresh outing on the Temple Musiq label. 'Pink Velvet' opens up with the sort of lush and dreamy arps that you want to hear either to ease you in or take you out of the dance. 'Don't Wait' then awakens the sense with steamy sax sounds drifting up above mid-tempo house drums and 'On My Mind' is all woozy vocals and smeared jazz guitar licks for some Balearic brilliance. Last but not least is an Inkswel remix of 'On My Mind' that explores broken beats and sunny vibes with a stylish original vocal.

Review: Series Of Taboo presents its third release, collating the fiery, broken works of two ingenious verging on igneous artists. The first is the established Copenhagen producer Terry Tester, who sports a two-decades-long career as a turntablist and beatmaker. The second is the talented producer Jay Sound, the keyboardist and composer based in Detroit. Whether more a testament to biographical clout or the music itself, 'Rhythms From World Vol. 1' EP is a compellingly minimal broken beat bound-about, both tracks giving off ineffable moods of formal curiosity over concept ('Triplets' taking after the stave-straddling, crotchety musical three) and 'Loose Idea' sounding like, well, just that.

Island Hill Microdot (6:23)
Review: The Vendetta Suite returns in early 2025 with a stunning pair of singles on Hell Yeah, blending acid acerb, house heat, disco d'oeuvres and a Balearic bliss. Long thought by some to be Belfast's best-kept secret, the Suite has garnered well-deserved traction for his genre-spanning productions, fusing ambient, post-rave, dub and psychedelic. First up, 'The Jam Answer' reinvents acid house with dusty analogue drums, hypnotic 303s, and cosmic cantatas; then the flipper 'Island Hill Microdot' drifts over into dreamy Chicago house and IDM, offering a lusher, tuned bamboo percussive pelagi-scape.

Review: Italian labels Altrimenti and Quindi join forces again for a new gaggle of remixes. All three of the original singles are from Woo's 2022 album 'Paradise In Pimlico' but sound very different here. Joseph Tagliabue goes first and his psychedelic Evasione Totale remix of 'Cadenza D'Innocenza' is a long form mind melter with crunchy drums run through with myriad spaced out effects. Leeway then tackles 'Even More Notes' and brings some jazz innovations over a skeletal rhythm and 'Gold Star' gets remixed by by Other Lands and Linkwood into a lush melodic day dream that glows bright as the sun.

Review: The accomplished Zopelar debuts on the equally superb Clone Royal Oak series with a four-track EP packed to the rafters with his 90s Chicago, New York and Detroit-inspired house grooves. The Sao Paulo-based producer and musician born Pedro Zopelar adds a twist of sound from this homeland into his work and opens this one with 'Astral Dynamics', a deep, widescreen sound alive with bendy synths and noodling keys. 'Arp Magic' is bright, synth-laced and uplifting with ever-busier lines and jacked-up drums. 'Miles Away' is another dreamy cut with cosmic pads and an infinite horizon then 'Dark Places Where I Feel Safe' brings a little unsettling synth work to close.

Review: Zopelar's 'Horizonte' is a captivating exploration of soulful house and jazzy influences, blending rich melodies with upbeat grooves. The title track, 'Horizonte', delivers a jazzy Detroit house vibe, setting the tone with smooth rhythm and deep bass. 'Let It Live' brings an uptempo energy, with a soulful saxophone that adds a distinctive layer of warmth. On the flip side, 'Pure Heart' strikes a perfect balance between house and techno, nostalgic yet fresh with its groovy, melodic appeal. 'Venus' stands out with its dreamy 90s-inspired piano, uplifting spirits and evoking an emotional connection. Closing with 'Serena (feat PR.A.DO)', the EP ends on a high note, leaving a lingering sense of euphoria. Each track blends beautifully crafted melodies with rhythmic intricacies, making 'Horizonte' a standout for anyone craving jazzy, soulful house with a modern twist.

Their debut live studio album A Band Of Brothers is a nice warm welcome from the label that's known for house and techno. Rather is an easy chilled out vibe or a night on the dancefloor, A Band Of Brother got you covered for all occasions.

Review: French illustrator, producer and owner of Astral Soda Records Albino offers up his second full-length album, Bamboo Night, following up his self-released 2016 album Santa Barbara. Returning to WRWTFWW for the second time now, Bamboo Night reflects something of a more dance-centric revolution in Albino's sound, but still brings his penchant for patented tape hues and ghostly exotics to the fore as ever. These tracks are just as suited for floor play as they are for home eso-chillaxing, fusing whispery dancehall flavours with dark jazz, Chicago deep house, and trembly international flavours.

Take electronic music, and specifically house and techno, which have always had their own distinctive take on the genre and that is now tapped into as Alex From Tokyo Presents Japan Vibrations Vol. 1, a tasteful compilation that transports you to the Far East and some of its finest moments from the 80s and 90s. Each tune comes from a trailblazer of the time and elements of ambient, downtempo, dub, world beats, deep house, new jazz and techno are all fused together into a faultless and tasteful collection.

Review:  London-based DJ and composer/producer Phil Mison revisits his Ambala project with a fresh collection of immersive, sun-drenched soundscapes, weaving together breezy rhythms and luminous synth work. A defining force in Balearic music, Mison has long explored the genre in various guises, including Reverso 68 and Cantoma, the latter earning a place in chillout's informal "most revered albums" section. On this second Ambala release, he refines his approach, balancing crisp electronic foundations with warmer organics. A cast of collaborators from the Music For Dreams label join, including guitarist Santino Surfers (Jonas Krag), whose fluid solos range from sultry noir to Mediterranean reverie, composer Troels Hammer, and ambient producer The Swan And The Lake. The result is a dreamlike blend of melody and plunge-texture, perfect for late night reflection or hazy afternoons by the sea.

Review: Rush Hour has been a buy-on-sight label for decades, no matter what genre it is dealing in. Lars Bartkuhn keeps that fine reputation alive with his new album Nomad which explores the intersection of jazz, synth, house, ambient and more. 'Every Morning I Meditate' is a soothing opener then 'Transcend' is packed with nodding chords, jazz melodies and vocal coos that are perfectly loungey. 'African Skies' is a quiet piano sound, 'First Kalimba' explores the sound of the unique African instrument over shimmering pads and 'Moving Mountains' is a piece to suspend you in the farthest edges of our cosmos. A superbly intimate and artistic album overall.

Review: After a decade of swirling deep house and understated jazz flourishes, London duo Chaos In The CBD finally drop their debut full-length, A Deeper Life, via their own In Dust We Trust imprint. The 14-tracker stretches their signature dee,p cocktail party effected house palette into new terrain: live instrumentation, vocal guests, and a mellow, tactile depth, now owing as much to 90s Balearic as it does to smoky London basements. Lead single 'Love Language', with Nathan Haines on sax, strikes an effortless tone: wistful, warm, and unhurried. Guests include Josh Milan, Lee Pearson Jr., Novelist and Stephanie Cooke, but the LP is less about marquee names than a slow, wide glow: sun-kissed nostalgia cut with club heft. It no less channels their New Zealand roots (idyllic beaches, waterfalls, quiet mornings) into a drifting house sound, playful and dour in equal parts.

Review: Back in 1990, Electribe 101 were riding high on the success of 'Talkin' With Myself', a Balearic house classic that ranks among the most saucer-eyed and loved-up songs of the era. The album that followed, Electribal Memories, was a gem, too, though has been largely overlooked - though not by those who fell in love with it at the time - ever since. Happily, it has finally been reissued on vinyl, with half-speed remastering and a deep cut to guarantee aural pleasure. With singer and creative force Billie Ray Martin providing some of her most memorable vocal performances, highlights include the early morning E-soul hypnotism of 'Inside Out' (a genius-like cover of a funk-soul classic), warm-up classic 'Heading For The Night' and the tactile deep house delight of 'Diamond Dove'.
