Trajano - "Rock Baby"
Simas - "RatoeiraMax"
Criminal Issues - "Criminal Weapon For Ber"
Villaca - "Bye Bye Track"
Review: Brazilian newcomers Whatever Records launch their debut 12" with four rugged club tracks that capture the raw energy of the country's underground. Trajano kicks things off with 'Rock Baby', a wild collision of electro-punk swagger and distorted drum machine funk-chaotic but undeniably effective. Simas follows with 'Ratoeiramax', a sleazy, low-slung tool built around warped FX and metallic percussion, pushing into darker territory. On the flip, Criminal Issues delivers the standout cut: 'Criminal Weapon For Ber' locks into a tight groove, balancing stripped-back house with dubby echoes and off-centre tension. Villaca closes the set with 'Bye Bye Track', a bittersweet roller that brings a final pulse of energy without overstaying its welcome. Tough, playful and proudly unpolished, this is a strong opening statement from a label clearly tuned into Brazil's more mischievous dancefloor sensibilities.

Review: Quasar returns to Skylax Records with Lost Memories EP, diving even deeper into the world of Italian dream house. This 12" release showcases Quasar's ability to capture the nostalgic essence of the early 90s while infusing it with fresh energy. The opening track, Downhill Drive, pulls listeners into its hypnotic rhythm, setting the tone for the journey ahead. Bailo Fine Estate follows, offering a dreamy, sun-soaked vibe that feels like the last moments of summer. Believe Me brings a more introspective, melodic edge, while Voices From the Sea closes things out with a haunting, ethereal atmosphere.

Review: Lello Di Franco (LDF) makes a powerful return to Skylax following a sprinting Gari Romalis remix, teaming up with Detroit's Javonntte for 'People From Mars'. The new EP echoes the not entirely capturable original virtue of Detroit house, though we also hear green-skinned ETs laying surreal laser descenders over spiked beats, alienating the style from its motoric origins. 'Saved' also nods to Chicago acid, but its whale-song echoes strip an original croon of its scantness, plunging an invocation to Chi-town into a Europan alien sea. 'Love Anthem', meanwhile, on the flip, provides a pointed swing and exhalatory voice, echoing Omar S with its gritty analogues.

Review: Wagram dives into the core of 90s seaside club heat with this double vinyl compilation, drawing the string on a clutch of era-defining house anthems prepped for terrace sunsets. Ibiza House gathers heavyweight US and European producers across twelve cuts, from Baltimore's Ultra Nate on 'Free (Mood II Swing Extended Vocal Mix Edit)' to Robin S.'s indelible 'Show Me Love (Stonebridge Club Mix)'. Elsewhere, stalwart MAW master Louie Vega shows up twice, first with Barbara Tucker and Louie Vega's Hardrive alias on 'Deep Inside', and again beside Jay Sinister for the dubbed-out 'Diamond Life'. Other gems come from Kings Of Tomorrow and Jocelyn Brown, with a touch of French filter flair from Bob Sinclar and Africanism.

The Minimal
Review: Having previously reissued (and compiled) the early 90s work of cult Italian deep house duo Minimal Vision, the reactivated Vibraphone label has now decided to rummage through the pair's archive of unreleased recordings. The result is this fine four tracker, which includes material recorded by the twosome at their home studio in Rome in 1990 and '91 (pre-dating their two original EPs, which first landed in 1992 and '93). There's naturally loads to set the pulse racing, from the syn-tom heavy deep house beats, sustained chords and twinkling melodic motifs of opener 'Spiritual Atlas', to the tougher, 1990 UK techno-influenced vines of warehouse-ready jacker 'Done & Up' and the dream house-meets-LFO flex of 'Invisible'. Arguably best of all though is the spacey, TB-303 fired acid excellence of 'The Minimal'.

Review: It's ten up for Ira James's so-far-so-superb Vessel Recordings Group label as the duo of Nonfiction and Kid Enigma step up for a fresh new single. 'Make It Look Good' is an instant house classic with all the key elements nailed: the drums are deep but driving, while the percussion adds texture and bite. And who better to add some further layers of house authenticity than the one and only Chicago don DJ Sneak. First up he goes raw and loop as you would expect, then dubs things out with his second offering. Another doozy from this imprint.

Review: Ira Jame's Vessel Recordings Group comes through with a brilliant selection of remixes of one of the best deep house tunes of the genre's early era. Ron Trent and Chez Damier's 'Don't Try It' is a bumping cut with vibey vocals and steamy synths that rock any party, and here it gets reworked into myriad different moods. There's a slower, more seductive Natural Rhythm vocal, a sturdy Nonfiction mix delicately spruced with Wonder-esque keys, a Joshua Try The dub rework with more spiritual synths and slower, spacious drums, a bubbly Andrew Macari String Me Along vocal mix that is cuddly and warm and a chunky Andrew Emil 2M19 dub that rolls heavy with fizzy, sugary chords. Each one breathes fresh life into the original, but always with a sympathetic hand.

This new EP is another standout with Toronto talent Demuir behind the beats. He brings his signature mix of influxes to this one starting with 'Conversing With Angels' which has disco-tinged loops and soulful, feel-good vibes that liven up any party. 'Everynight' has a deep cut and funky groove that is made all the more arresting and emotive with the vocals and smart synth filters, while 'Mizz Hunni' comes as a hefty tech stomper and also as a dub.

Cosmic Reality
Review: Detroit don Norm Talley is as consistent as they come in house music circles. Despite a fine catalogue of cool cuts, 'Cosmic Wave' is his standout and a clear fan favourite. It dropped back in 2010 but has been reissued many times on different labels, this time on his own Upstaris Aslum. It's the very essence of stripped-back and functional house/techno but with an impossibly impactful machine soul, the drums, synth waves and percussion all looping infinitely. But within that endless repetition there is beauty, hypnosis, and catharsis to be found. Sheer class, before you even get into the shimmering, sublimely gliding remix from Luke Hess & Brian Kage and the sparser 'Cosmic Reality', all stop/start funkiness rooted down by massive electronic handclaps.

Review: Deep house foot soldier DJ Aakmael strikes a perfect balance between gritty grooves and heady escapism with the music he makes. He's fairly prolific, too, and never goes too long between 12"s. He's back on his own Unxpozd Entertainment here with its 10th outing and it opens with the irresistible head nodder 'Oceandeep'. 'Nature' has more widescreen atmosphere with smeared chords swirling round the cuddly kicks and 'Reach 4 My Luv' then offering an excuse to daydream and get lost in empty mindfulness. 'Track 190' brings your focus back with some cosmic jazz melodies and a more propulsive groove.

He is a man who knows how to cook up warm yet dynamic sounds that are perfect for back rooms and basements when you want to get up close and personal. 'Window Seat' finds him tackling smoky soul sounds and flipping them into spaced-out deep house magic. Review: A long-overlooked Del Jones cut from the tail end of the 90s finally lands on vinyl, pulled from a CD-only issue that barely left the Philadelphia underground. Known mostly for his fiery Black Panther-linked releases from the early 70s - particularly his Court Is Closed LP under the name Del Jones's Positive Vibes - Jones made a quiet but compelling pivot toward jazz-funk and proto-house textures in his later years. This reissue revives one of those rarities, backed with fresh versions: Lil Dave turns up the warmth with a soulful '215' house rerub, Pheels leans into low-slung, echo-heavy psychedelia, Sweater draws out the track's harmonic core with plush synth layers, Universal Cave melt it down into acid-licked dub, and Street Orchestra chips at its edges with broken, lo-fi percussions.

This outing on Traxx Underground taps into his pure house sound and opens with the bubbly kicks and bass of 'Alone Tonight' (ft Ryan Hayden & Collie). It's dynamic deep house with a spiritual synth edge and heartfelt vocals, which will make it a real crowd favourite. After the more direct club mix comes the percussive US garage throb of 'The Last Time' and the raw and bumping house realness of 'What I Said', which has another smart vocal hook adding the irresistible emotion. Four effective but stylish house jams.

Review: Acid techno progenitors Trax Records, founded by Larry Sherman in 1985, turns 40 this summer, and marks the occasion with a sprawling new compilation curated by Chicago producer Jorge, who links the label's acid house origins with its yetmost recent output: Frankie Knuckles, Phuture and Marshall Jefferson now share the proud torch with Hiroko Yamamura, Analog 87 and more. With shop still set up in Chicago, Trax is now run by Screamin' Rachael of Rising Again fame: "We care about music - that's why Trax still means something." Though it's a momentous occasion, the label haven't caved to the cult of glorified sonic gloss, holding to the same characteristic rawness that defined those earliest acid trax: just listen to the crunches and gruffs of Pleasure Zone and Fuck Charley's 'House Nation' or Frankie Bones' 'Beat Me Up'.

Review: Happy 40th birthday to TRAX Records, the imprint that arguably did more than any other to spread the sound of Chicago house around the world in the 80s and early 90s. This anniversary EP gathers together a mix of stone cold classics, obscurities and more recent gems. So while there's a chance to savour remastered versions of early house classics by Frankie Knuckles (the simply peerless 'Your Love') and Marshall Jefferson (the piano-powered 'house music anthem' that is the equally brilliant 'Move Your Body'), we also get Willie Wonka's less-celebrated 1986 gem 'What Is House' (featuring a spoken word vocal does a great job in explaining the origins of house music) and the chunkier, more recent Jacques & Gregory and Screamin' Rachael deep house cut 'I'll Take You There'.

On this second volume in their celebratory EP series, curator Jorge showcases some of his favourite cuts from the label vaults. First up on side A is Stylophonic's 'Jack It Up', a fine combination of thickset bottom-end and expansive piano solos. Review: A clutch of 12 new tracks from contemporary Italian producers, offering a snapshot of modern disco rooted in local language and rhythm, without leaning into retro tropes. Paul Older's 'Che Disco Vuoi' and Riva Starr's 'Allora Amore' both lead with clean percussion and full-bodied basslines, the former leaning pop, the latter more loop-driven. 'Statua Greca' by Valentino Vivace and 'Tutto Matto' by Hey Cabrera! extend the formula with sharper synth programming and a vocal-led structure. Sam Ruffillo & Fimiani's 'Non Era Facile' blends house swing with lounge-adjacent instrumentation, while Kymono's 'Lasciati Andare' keeps things percussive and tight. Dov'e Liana's 'La Notte Infinita' and Mille Punti's 'Matto' take a looser approach, building around layered synth work and call-and-response vocal phrases. Bruno Belissimo's 'Donna Piu' cuts more minimal, with a stripped rhythm section and filtered pads. The final third of the set moves further into dancefloor territory: Fimiani's 'Proibito' and Alessandro Rotter's 'La Sera, La Discoteca, La Spiaggia' both favour extended intros and vocal refrains. Alberto Melloni's 'Credimi' rounds things off with a warm, restrained finish. The sequencing keeps a balance between form and variation, with the Italian-language vocals acting as the unifying element across styles.

The New York native has devoted his life to spreading positivity through music, consistently delivering high-grade, nuanced deep house flavours - from emotion-rich profundity to pounding dance fervour. 'Distant Travels' is a typically finessed EP, blending atmospheric pads with distant vocals and delicate keyboard flourishes. Every cut is a winner here, but the standouts are 'Cazcavel Hotel Beats', with its bumping bass, dreamy synths and floating keys, and 'The Heights', where shuffling rhythms power through a fog of mystical pads and hypnotic vocal textures.

Review: US house mainstay Delano Smith has always operated at the dubber, more stripped-back and techno-leaning end of the spectrum. He is a master of crafting perfect loops that could roll for days a never grow dull. The full extent of that skill was laid bare on his wonderful album An Odyssey, which turns 20 in 2025. He has long been close to Sushitech who now reissue it in a very limited run on a special gold slab of wax. The tunes are heady, lo-fi, grainy and gorgeous sounds for warm-ups, zone-outs and plenty of the more discerning and intimate moments in between.

Review: Here's an unfettered dancefloor delivery from Studio Barnhus, with Austin-based newcomer Fennec arriving with a dose more bump than what we've come to expect from the generally understated Stockholm imprint. Fennec slides into the groove with four tracks of loose-limbed, sample-driven house - from the sturdy thump of 'Jaunt' to the more introspective but no less groovy 'Grilled Romaine'. There's a clear reverence for the golden era of sampling, but it's filtered through a fresh, bedroom-built lens. Fennec's been quietly building a cult following over the past decade, and this release feels like a well-earned moment in the spotlight. Playful, heartfelt, and ready to work the floor.

Review: Stay Underground, It Pays is a fine motto and just as quality label out of France. Ballan is the one at the buttons for this one and opens up with 'Goddamnit' (Club Tool) which it most certainly is. The drums are dry and buoyant, the splashy hi hats bring extra scale and smart vocal stabs amp it up more. 'Members Only Club's a silkier sound with balmy and breezy synths smeared over the deep drums and 'Keep The Frequencey Clear' has a playful bass and synth combo that is peppered with tin pot percussion. The flip keeps exploring fresh tech house territory with 'Futuro' and 'How Should I Start' both effective sounds.

Music Is Making Me High
Review: Some 30 years deep and still pushing forward, this Dutch producer shows no sign of losing steam. His latest batch leans into jazzy house with a fresh, unforced confidence. These tracks feel lived-in but never tired, like the work of someone who knows the rules well enough to bend them just right. 'Peace & Justice' starts with a bright tempo and a wide-open groove. There's a raw exuberance in the percussion and keys that feels completely unselfconscious, like it's meant to be played loud with people moving. 'Needs' pulls things in a bit tighter. The rhythm snaps into place around crisp drums, jazzy chord stabs and vocal snippets that feel tossed-off but perfectly placed. On the flip, 'Lust In Love' gets a little grimier. The groove is thicker and feels like it was made to echo through a late-night system. It's confident without being pushy, letting the bassline do most of the talking. Wrapping things up, 'Music Is Making Me High' brings in soulful touches and breezy jazz accents. It's easygoing but still aimed at the dancefloor. Overall, a smooth, smart ride all the way through.

A wicked year so far has heard them incant two especial EPs from Jean-Jez and Max Sinal, and that's not to mention another heater V/A of their own: the three-a-sider 'Maintain Attitude'. Now five further remixes of Sinal's earlier 'Intentions' setpiece surface, ringing out the room by way of careful and frequent attention, paid to the track by Frits Wentink, JT Donaldson and Flying Moth. The Live Mix from Sinal at the end is also second to none, its rapid-echo plucks a treat.

Review: There's no need to apologise - not when the vinyl in question is as good as this. If you've seen Ricardo Villabos behind the decks of late you'll almost certainly have heard him drop one or more of these superlative edits, as he's been hammering them practically non-stop. You can't blame him. 'Edit 1' is a hypotonic bongo-fest that shimmers and caresses the dancefloor with absolute confidence. 'Edit 2' is a female vocal-led disco-slanted house affair with neatly trimmed, jazzy keys and a perky bassline, while 'Edit 3' looks to the late 70s/early 80s for inspiration with a supercatchy synth motif that Vince Clarke would give his right hand for and some exotic sounding, continental male vocals that round it off superbly. Imagine that Patrick Cowley and Krafftwerk made a tune together and you're in the right area. Put all three together and, well, you've got quite the package.

It's a brand new release, recorded live with no computersijust raw musicianship and hands-on energy. The A-side version stretches into smoky Rhodes licks and rolling percussion, while the B-side strips things down to a tighter, dubbier frame. Released on Sacred Rhythm and Cosmic, this is one for collectors of Claussell's deeper, more improvisational output.

On this EP, the first of two, the Body & Soul NYC resident offers up extended revisions of a quartet of cuts. He begins with 'New Africa', wrapping a gorgeous sand gently soulful vocal workout in spacey synths and layers of spiritual house percussion, before upping the tempo on the breathless and brilliant 'Griot Ba'. His love of deep, dubby basslines, restless percussion and delay-laden vocal snippets comes to the fore on EP highlight 'The Ya Yo People', whjle 'Drum Sore' - a version of what sounds like an early to mid 1980s number - very much lives up to its name.

He begins EP number two with 'Abuja Rough', a rolling, lightly housed-up take on a lesser-known mid-80s Afro-synth-pop number, before ratcheting up the tempo, intensity and percussive pressure on 'Summer Africa'. He successfully straightens out and beefs up an organ-rich Afronbeat workoput on 'People', while standout 'Afrikan Basement' is a lightly dubbed-out chunk of densely percussive Afro-house topped off with effects-laden vocals and sax solos.

The former has been crafting deeply melodic and synth-laced house and techno soundscapes for some time and opens with 'Blues In Flight' which is all jacked-up beats and wispy, astral melodies and pads. Laak offers a more slinky and garage-infused sound on 'Apophis' and layers it up with twinkling modulations. Review: Since founding the admirable Scissor & Thread label 14 years ago, Francis "Frank" Harris and Anthony "Tony" Collins have made very few appearances on other labels - making this outing on Hamburg's masters of all things deep and dreamy, Smallville Records, a notable excursion. As befits both label and artist, the three tracks on offer are genuinely atmospheric and ultra-deep, albeit still blessed with enough groove and bottom-end oomph to titillate late-night and early morning dancefloors. For proof, check A-side 'Ways of Mine', with its yearning pads, warm bass, heady spoken word snippets, spacey electronics and locked-in beats. The quality threshold remains high on the flip, where the slow burning (and even deeper) 'After All' is joined by the intergalactic dancefloor drift of 'Dimension'.

'Like This' draws from all over - dubwise vocal samples, percussion from garage, kicks from house music and echo from dub. It's a physical, bouncy sound for energising the dance floor without ever resorting to gimmicks. On the flip, 'MB' pumps a garage-house vibe with dusty drum rotations and snares that flap in the wind. Add in bulbous organ lines and balmy pads and you have a nice neon heater.

Where 2021's 'Wake Up' leant breezy and lounge-lax, this follow-up hears her move toward bolder, puffier textures: 'Paper Plane' drifts in on hazy synths and looping pulses, while 'Youth' snaps with uptempo drive, and 'Drown' slows the pace to gargled wistfulness. Moog's productions command a profound stereology - the many clap and timbral-percussive elements on 'Room 28' and 'Toi & Moi' are heard hard-panned to the aural dexters and sinisters - but that doesn't decentre the tracks either, occupying a kind of mid-side paradox. Anyway, never mind our itchy technical pontifications: this is a soulful quad of modern, record-skip-looping, discoid house.

Coast2coast
Review: London's Luke Dean makes big moves again, this time on the emerging Reliance label. He's someone with a healthy reverence for garage pioneers like MJ Cole and Todd Edwards and brings that to his own house perspective. To date, he's landed on the likes of MicroHertz and neXup recz and played everywhere from fabric to Circo Loco. This latest EP is a bold and club-ready slab with garage and house combined into muscular rhythms with smart samples and hooky pads. 'Coast2coast' is the one for us - a tight, bouncy cut with a nod to the old school that is going to be pure bait for dancers.

We Are Youth (instrumental)

We Are Youth (CASSIMM remix dub)
Review: On his latest predictably peak-time ready excursion, Matt 'Radio Slave' Edwards has joned forces with sometime Toy Tonics contributor Nathalie Duchene. Between them - and Edwards' young daughter, who provides the vocal hooks - the pair has delivered a genuinely life-affirming and mood-enhancing summer anthem that wraps restless house beats and rubbery bass guitar in descending, disco inspired synth-strings and the biggest and brightest of hands-in-the-air piano riffs. Duchene and Edwards deliver an infectious and equally inspiring instrumental take, before Toolroom regular CASSIMM takes over. He delivers vocal and dub takes, leaning into the track's disco-house elements and dialling them up to the max. The result is a pair of driving, funky and breathless revisions that giddily pay tribute to the classic 'French Touch' sound of the late 1990s.

Review: Under the Demuir alias, Kevin Dennis Pierre has long been a reliable source of high-quality, often pleasingly propulsive deep house. Here the Toronto music-maker brings his assured and entertaining sound to Sydney label Refuge Records for the first time. Over the course of a quartet of killer cuts, the Canadian confidently strides between soulful, jazzy and sample-rich garage-house excellence (the sublime and undeniably playable 'Look Into Your Eyes', hard-wired, DJ Sneak style disco-house loop jams ('A Night In Paria'), Kerri Chandler-adjacent peak-time joy ('Never Too Young'), and rolling, electric piano-sporting, boogie-sampling brilliance ('Sweet Surrender', which makes merry with cut-up vocal snippets from a much-loved Chaka Khan classic).

Haf S - "Availability" (Jeep mix)
Review: Deep house pioneer Abacus returns once more with some fresh energy on his revitalised label, Re: Think. The fourth volume of Analogue Stories opens with a Jeep Mix of his 'In Between The Lines', which is a widescreen comic affair built on dusty and jostling drums. Din-dunya offers the lithe rhythms of 'In My Life', which is marbled with freaky vocals, and Haf S offers two cuts. 'My Love Is' is a Detroit hi-tech soul sound with a constant sense of promise and 'Availability' is a raw, mechanical and jerking workout for jacked up sessions. All four of these could be 30 years old or sent back from the future.

I Can't Take It
Review: Ever-reliable Detroit veteran Rick Wade returns to the equally on-point Rawax with a suitably bumping set of house cuts. The 'Night Trackin' EP kicks off with the brilliantly titled 'Angry Jazz', where dusty drums and murky bass notes drive sinister funk synths in a determined dancefloor direction. 'Night Track' sees jazzy chords floating over shuffling beats and low-slung bass for a heads-down moment of introspection, before the glistening vibes melody on 'Your Love' and soul-rich vocal add a little honey to the ho-ho pot. Finally, the vintage soul samples of 'I Can't Take It' loop into infinity, with rugged drums powering the relentlessly funky groove.

Scuba Republic (An Abacus Story)
Review: Since debuting in 2022, Manchester-raised (but Berlin-based) musician Black Eyes (real name Matthew Jesus) has defined a trademark style of his own: 'hydro-trip', a personal variation of trippy house and techno "inspired by his love of water". Here the rising star brings his unique musical vision to Rawax's Motor City Edition series for the first time. He sets the tone with 'Scuba Republic', where futurist Detroit deep house chords and textures rise above a locked-in beat and hypnotic bassline, before opting for a jazzier, warmer and more rhythmically fluid house sound on 'Intercity Fish Vibes'. Flip-side opener 'Something Sweeter N Deeper' is gentle, bass-heavy and melody-rich, offering a blissful and immersive dancefloor excursion, while the admirable Abacus rounds things off with a fine, Motor City techno inspired rework of 'Scuba Republic'.

Review: If a job's worth doing. QED Recordings boss Thomas Cox takes the helm for three very different tracks that arrive united in their refusal to follow the rules. 'Saboteur' glories in stompy drum machine action and handclap snares, wielding a hefty, chunky funkiness. 'Boxcutter' is a nice vignette of looped up hip-hop beats, while 'Lizardbrain' is a nicely frazzled bleep workout that manages to be quite playable but also slightly eccentric. All three are good stuff, from a label well worth keeping a regular eye on.

Need To Learn - Ol To The Nu (outro)
Review: A double vinyl helping of dripping-in-soul house from Toronto's Demuir. It originally surfaced digitally in 2021 but has been constantly in demand ever since. Not at all surprising when you start to dip into the likes of 'Aesthetics' (dub), with its constant synth washes and subtle funk underpinning, or the loopy, bongo-teased hypnotism of 'No Corazon, No Beat'. It's a varied selection here, from late night floor crushers to the softer, jazzier 'Bichano Doce', but there are two constants remaining throughout, namely quality production and a knack for irresistible grooves built for the floor. Demuir by name, demure by nature.

Review: Seven months on from the release of his superb Paris, Rome album, Public Possession regular DJ City returns to the Munich-based imprint - and this time he's got sometime Wolf Music and Semi Delicious contributor Manuel Darquart in tow. The pair treat us to three takes on 'I Need'. There's the EP-leading 'Italo Version', a smooth, dreamy and suitably sun-splashed electronic house cut smothered in Italo-disco style synths and a stylised lead vocal by Darquart; the more stripped-back, deep house style warmth of the 'Club Version'; and a DJ-friendly 'Beatless Version' that's propelled forwards by a restless bassline and cascading synth sounds. It also offers more opportunity to wallow in Darquart's effects-laden vocal.

Review: Plastik People Collections dropped this one back in 2019, and it became an instant classic that soon sold out. It has since rocketed in price on the second-hand markets, so thankfully, the label is reissuing it this summer. Cultured Pearls's 'Mother Earth' is effortlessly cool garage-house with bumpy drums and expressive piano jams perfect for outdoor dancing. Night Society's 'You Turn Me On' has an authentic US edge and hot and humid groove with passionate vocal cries, then JJ Can's 'I Don't Know Why' is a dubby and low-slung deep garage sound with chopped vocals and a timeless appeal. Three vital cuts that will be huge all over again this year.

Review: French DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist Olivier Portal sadly passed away in January, aged 65. His best work came as Playin 4 The City and this EP is one of his most sought-after on the Plastik People label. It features two tracks originally released on the 'Backshop' EP on Tropism Records 2002 and one newer sound. Opener 'Minor Track' is a brilliantly aloof deep house cut with swinging, dubby drums and cute chord stabs that do enough to keep you moving. 'Backfire' is just as breezy but a little quicker with some sleek synths and nice claps moving things on with a cosmic edge. 'Backside' rides a nice chunky, tumbling rhythm with more subtle but seductive synth work.
