Ode Ireti (5:42)
Ode Ireti (Amapiano edit) (3:30)
Ode Ireti (Nitefreak remix) (6:27)
Ode Ireti (Deroos remix) (6:07)
Review: MoBlack continues to champion the best Afro house with this latest drop from &friends, El Jay and Oluwadamvic. 'Ode Ireti' appears here in four different versions, leading in with the original mix which comes bathed in sultry piano and an understated rhythmic roll perfect for sundown moments. The 'Amapiano Edit' unsurprisingly refigures the groove for all your log drum needs, and then Nitefreak jumps in on the flip for a smouldering deep house version and then Deroos brings his own tracky energy and moody chords to the table to complete a highly workable track served four ways.

Colkin - "Via Marcomanni" (3:49)
Peter Seiler - "Timebend" (feat Sheryl Hackett) (4:32)
Eoism - "Ultraverse" (5:00)
Voertuig - "Cego" (5:19)
Voertuig - "808 Ambient Jazz" (3:45)
Eoism - "Even Flow" (5:45)
Review: Colkin from Raw Soul and Mauke Club sets the tone on this new FUTUR compilation, which has been curated by Benedikt Meger with a spherical acid house meditation. Peter Seiler's track, a standout from the reissue of his debut album Flying Frames, features Sheryl Hackett's soulful vocals and merges song structure with jazz improvisation. Eoism from Pulse Drift, Undersound, and Inch By Inch delivers low-swung electro flavours perfect for sunset vibes while the B-side opens with Voertuig of Tonal Oceans and Cobra Club who presents a seriously raw acid jam followed by an experimental, jazzy piece, reminiscent of the 90s downtempo era. 'Eoism' closes things with a floating, futuristic banger, going to make a well rounded (in more ways than one) and ultimately very useful piece of vinyl.

Intro (2:05)
Take Money (6:49)
Black Box Riddle (5:30)
Sector 100 (4:35)
Review: Two years on from his last outing under the DJ Snils alias, Oleg Buyanov AKA Ol buddies up with pal Every Korner (real name Roman Erikona) to help launch the Save the Books label. The Moscow-based pair apparently recorded the four tracks at various points over the last few years. There's an undeniably Balearic feel to proceedings throughout, from the dreamy pads, twittering loon bird samples and new age ambient melodies of 'Intro', to the jazz-flecked Italian dream house drowsiness of luscious and life-affirming closing cut 'Sector 100'. In between you'll find the bustling 'Take Money', where sampled piano motifs and huggable chords ride a chunky, bass-heavy groove, and the sunny broken beat/jazz-funk/deep house fusion of 'Black Box Riddle'.

I'm All Made Of Music (Melnyk So Alive mix)
I'm All Made Of Music (Tilliander remix)
Review: "I'm All Made of Music" is given an electro kick with fantastic mixes by Jori Hulkkonen, Melnyk and Andreas Tilliander. The downtempo track will find favour with lovers of Emo and electronica music (Four Tet, Mum, Sigur Ros). Hulkkonen's remix features heavily in current DJ Cool Cuts Charts. Jori Hulkkonen - Finnish DJ and producer - has been pushing the boundaries of electro and house for a decade. Working under many guises (such as the Zyntherius - responsible for Tiga's ascent to electro royalty) - Jori is extremely prolific and always delivers - this electro stomper for Gaymonkey is no exception. Ebb's labelmate Melnyk has had a tremendous year, with critically acclaimed electropop album "Silence" (including 'Album of the Month' - DJ Magazine) released in Sweden and the UK, and a best selling remix around the globe for the Pet Shop Boys. Watch out for his new single "Fabulous" out on Gaymonkey this October. Andreas Tilliander is one of Stockholm's finest and most respected electronic musicians. His extensive list of production credits reflects his broad style. He has delivered a cracking gritty techhouse mix to complete an astonishing 12".

Tsukino Oshie (Full Moon Temple mix) (7:56)
Chichichi Gankannon (10:21)
Nirvana Sexy (Amoras dub Disco Heruka mix) (6:00)
Review: Cult favourites among Japan's 90s underground, Ecstasy Boys crafted a deeply transportive fusion of Balearic bliss, leftfield house and shimmering progressive elements. The trioiMitsuru Kotaki, Shiro Amamiya and Tatsuro Amamiyaileft behind only a handful of releases before disbanding in 1994, but their work has lingered in the minds of diggers and dreamers alike. 'Tsukino Oshie (Full Moon Temple Mix)' glows with late-night transcendence, its swirling vocals and soft-lit synths floating over a measured, hypnotic pulse. 'Chichichi Gankannon' slows the pace into a cinematic haze, spectral pianos and drifting percussion shaping its ghostly allure. Closing out, 'Nirvana Sexy (Amoras Dub Disco Heruka Mix)' slides into leftfield disco, layering multilingual vocals over undulating grooves with a quietly euphoric edge. Remastered by Wouter Brandenburg, this release recaptures the warmth and depth of the originals, ensuring their glow remains undimmed.

Auf Der Ufer (feat Rune Lindbaek) (5:55)
Pumapunku (8:04)
Inner Piece (9:13)
Lonely Without You (3:59)
Review: In 2016 Canadian producer and DJ Eddie C released his third Endless Flight album entitled On The Shore: a compelling musical trip of drifting repetition in rhythm and melody. It was inspired by his studio that sits upon the Panke River in Berlin's Wedding district. Now he drops a new EP, consisting of three tracks plus "Auf Der Ufer" - a tune he did with his Norwegian buddy Rune Lindbaek. This slo-mo beauty is smothered with rich vintage synth flair and dusty drums: a sonic odyssey made for drifting. Our favourite though, was the lush synth-pop beauty of "Pumapunku" or B side cut "Inner Piece" which was a right curveball. This bleepy rave techno jam will take you all the way back to the early '90s. Another heartfelt arranged mix of instruments, synths, samples and drum machines by Eddie C.

Smokey Bay (4:02)
Review: A fresh and rather unusual pink wax 7" fromCanadian DJ and producer Eddie C, 'Nite Moves' shows off the artist's precision editry with eclectic production nuances and riffy glue. The A comes through with lyrically-confounding sampledelic soul flair, while the instrumental B 'Smokey Bay' grows more Balearic as it embers away. This EP truly is skilfully done, as we can't track down the original tracks Eddie's used, so let's hope your ear's curious enough revel in, and even rise to the challenging of identifying, a mysterious sample.

Review: It's time to don your leathers and strap in for another ride on go-slow master Eddie C's Read Motorbike. This time out the Canadian deep disco specialist kicks off his latest 7" with 'D8 With The Rain.' As always it is a super smooth groove that is smartly embellished with dusty old samples that tug at the heart. 'Sweet Honey' is a sunny one with plenty of joyous little chords and a carefree groove that flaps and slaps away down low. Easy to love, hard to pull-off grooves once again from the evergreen Eddie C.

Review: Eddie Logix makes his return to Rocksteady Disco fold with this fresh new 12", 'Flight Risk'. It's a varied affair that pulls from a wide range of genres including leftfield, deep house, disco, Afrobeat, and even Balearic. Some of these tunes have already been picking up high-profile support from the likes of Leo Mas, Chris Coco and Danny Krivit - no wonder given that his last on the label sold out immediately. 'Sky Dive' is a nice loose limbed funky deep disco jam, 'Home Suite' has a superb new age flute lead and 'Missing Pixels' is a tribal Afro dancer. 'Mount Juniper' is the lively and tropical house number that has you dreaming of cocktails by the sea.

Review: It's a match made in Balearic heaven. Ela Minus, Colombia-born, Brooklyn-based artist, best known for building synths, placing agitational statements between her carefully woven ambient melodies and her Acts Of Rebellion album, meets fellow New Yorker DJ Python, he of the hypnotic dembow stylings, for a bumper value-packed six track EP. Ghostly vocals float across stark beats and sometime gloomy, sometime edgy but cheery dayglo musical textures on the three vocal versions, and there are three instrumentals for those who prefer their grooves that way.

Review: Emma Kirby's ascendance was assured with the release of her Euphoric Melodies EP last year. Released on Technicolour, it followed up on the promise of the Every Body Is Welcome EP for Femme Culture which preceded it. Now she's following up with her third release as Elkka, Harmonic Frequencies. The EP was preceded by the title track last September, which points to a continuation of her refined sound. Fluttering melodies and rave-ready dynamics bounce off each other with abandon, exuding positivity every step of the way. There's an expansive spirit to the EP as Kirby continues developing her sound, not to mention a truckload of good vibes to see us into the Spring in style.

Together they bring a lovely Scandi-cosmic twist to deep house grooves having first met back in 2021 at a jam amongst friends. They mix up some Balearic guitar sounds, break waves, fat basslines and rich layers of percussion with classic hose knowledge to make something that straddles many different worlds at once, from the beach bar to the basement club and back again.

La Cassette (Tigerbalm remix) (5:58)
Review: Andy Meecham has released a lot of fine music as The Emperor Machine, but little as perfect as his recent album, Island Boogie. Here a trio of cuts from that set are given the remix treatment. Hardway Brothers (AKA A Love From Outer Space co-founder Sean Johnston) will grab the headlines for his takes on 'Wanna Pop With You', and rightly so. His 'remix' (A2) cannily combines elements of Meecham's original - synth, bass, bits of Severtine Mouletin's vocal - with oodles of hallucinatory sounds, psychedelic guitars and a tough mid-tempo beat, while the 'Dub' strips things back further whilst upping the trippy vibe. Elsewhere, Tigerbalm delivers a rework of 'La Cassette' that sits somewhere between dub disco and proto-house, and Meecham provides a skeletal, dub-wise 'Version' of his fine La Fox cover, 'S-S-S-Single Bed'.

Take You To A Secret Place (Kuniyuki Hard remix)
Take You To A Secret Place (Angophora remix)
Review: Not An Animal are known for their heated takes on the art of disco-sampling house music, and Ess O Ess is one of the key factors in defining that sound. This comes through in spades on Take You To A Secret Place, where the title track comes marching out atop a deadly bassline that will cut through any mix to get the people freaking out. The dub mix is equally deadly, flying a generous dose of cosmic sparkle into the mix without losing the punch in the original production. Kuniyuki Hard takes a daring approach that slows the track down to a creep and emphasises space and tension. The Angophora version is even more drastic, seemingly stripping all the recognisable elements of the track out and leaving behind a plaintive thread of ambient instrumentation.

Review: Slow Life has always nudged at the edges of typical genres, be that deep house, tech or minimal. Here comes another case in point - a remix EP that finds key associates rework originals by Ethereal Logic. S Moreira get first with a psyched-out sound dripping in colour and percussion. Paolo Mosca's remix is a glistening one with airy breaks and twinkling melodies and the Primary Perception remix then slows things down to a vibey downtempo and boogie delight. Mosh Project's remix closes with a slow motion and snaking sound that would work well as a backing track to a DMT trip.

Review: Jules Etienne has been skirting around labels such as Apersonal Music for a few years, but here makes a strong statement with a new record for CockTail D'Amore. "Triangle Des Bermudas" is a swinging yet cosmically inclined jam powered by warm synth arpeggios, which regular collaborator Massimiliano Pagliara then nudges up into crafty deep house territory. "Cuban Omlette" is a delicate affair that interweaves pattering percussion and nagging synth lines to make a particularly heady brew before "John's Job" finishes the record off with a richly layered drum track that should have DJs across the board getting tricky in the mix.

It's obvious single material - with the radio edit here adding further credence - and the wonderful original is further complemented by remixes from two of Lustman's fellow New York dwellers in Gang Gang Dance and Ital. The former is delightful, adding unforeseen layers of ecstasy to McFarlane's vocals amidst a clopping beat and tropically infused melodic lead, whilst Ital goes in entirely the opposite direction, turning in a sludgy, strung out malfunctioning slab of techno.

Side-1 kicks off with Say Dare's 'Necessary,' which channels the underground New York house sound of the early '90s. This track's nostalgic grooves and infectious energy set a vibrant tone. Following this, Aris A1 & F Pilling deliver 'Frank Speaking,' a track that masterfully blends melodic deep tech house with elements of techno, creating a rich soundscape. On Side-2, Ewan Jansen's 'Intrastellar' showcases his signature Red Ember style, delivering a classy, well-crafted track that highlights his underrated talent. The EP concludes with PTMC's 'Wiggly George,' a standout piece that fuses futuristic jazz with Detroit techno influences and tribal rhythms, creating a unique builder. HLR 001 is a hot new record that establishes Hidden Liaison Records as a promising label in the techno scene.

It features seven different artists offering up one track each on what is a widescreen exploration of fresh deep house. They are A Vision of Panorama, Eternal Love, Pool Boy, Wolfey, Laseech, Larry Quest and Jay Sound and between them everything from cuddly depths to more moody late-night deepness is covered on an EP that brings plenty of new perspectives. A fine inaugural 12", then.

Review: Brock Van Wey's output as Earth House Hold started a decade ago and since then he has been on a constant mission to explore the fringes of house music. His sounds have always drawn on Brock's memories of raves, DJing and basement parties and now this bumper 4 x CD collection marks its final progression. How Deep Is Your Devotion is an authentic listening experience from front to back and one that encompasses fully mastered and remastered versions of all three previous LPs. This is supremely high-quality stuff, from lush and musical depths steeped in personal reflection to widescreen ambient house excursions via cosmic delights.

Review: Brock Van Wey (bvdub) revives his cult Earth House Hold alias for A Strangely Isolated Place, with his slow-burning, House-music-inspired, long play, 'Never Forget Us'.

A Strangely Isolated Place, and label founder, Ryan Griffin has long sought a partnership with Brock, with many believing it may one day materialize in his suitably infamous ambient output known on labels such as n5MD, Glacial Movements and Quietus. But after their relationship grew, Brock and Ryan realized a mutual respect and passion for the classic sounds of house music - the roots and inspiration of Brock's Earth House Hold project.

Whilst followers of bvdub and ASIP may be surprised to hear the two teaming up on this specific alias of Brock's, Never Forget Us opens us to a new expression of ambient-inspired music, pushing the many boundaries, forms and genres it can evolve into or indeed, evolve from.

A noticeably deeper and more evocative evolution from the first Earth House Hold release, Brock has built an album focused on progression, starting with deep, slow-churning ambient cuts, gradually introducing House elements as the album evolves. Using only instruments and sounds from the early House-era, as is the ethos of Earth House Hold, Brock builds an effortlessly sequenced collage of deep, mystifying, and emotional pieces, combining his signature ghostly vocals with rumbling off-kilter bass-lines and slowly rising atmospheres.

As with many of Brock's productions, 'Never Forget Us' is an ode to some of the many memories and experiences that helped influence the producer he is today. From his trademark ambient epics, to his unique brand of ambient house, each reflecting his history, forever lingering in his years DJ-ing ambient chill rooms and deep house basement affairs beginning nearly thirty years ago . With the return of Earth House Hold, the story is told not only through the reflective nature of the music, or the collage of original pin-hole photographs taken by his good friend Mamii, but the mutual appreciation for a sound from years gone-by, brought to life again, yet living its own life, in a way only someone like Brock could.

Review: One of the joys of Athens of the North's East Coast Love Affair project - an in-house band with a twist - is its' joyous musical eclecticism. Previously, they've delivered boogie, house, street soul, funk and disco. On this debut album, the collective spent some time in the studio with friend-of-the-family and Pikes Ibiza resident For Mankind (real name Russ Forman), and as a result the set has a dreamy, colourful and picturesque Balearic vibe. Of course, the influences are a bit wider than that - think dub, proto-house, ambient, Larry Hard-style deep house, Sun Ra and Brazilian music for starters - but that descriptor does neatly sum up what's on offer. Deep, evocative, pretty and impeccably produced, it's the most well-rounded and musically expansive East Coast Love Affair release to date.

Now based in Berlin and joining a huge community of expat producers in the city, the On The Shore LP was indeed influenced by his new hometown. His studio being located right on the River Panke in Berlin's growing Wedding district; an area still not fully in the grasp of gentrification yet and it was these lovely and relaxing surrounds, being surrounded by fellow artists in the studios which fuelled inspiration for this release. Expect a mixed bag of all things slo-mo, low slung, deep and above all funky, for sure!

Review: Electribe 101's 1990 debut album, Electribal Memories, is undoubtedly one of the strongest sets of the loved-up Balearic house era - a long-player firmly rooted in the Ecstasy experience, from the piano-sporting, wide-eyed tactility of house music of the period, to the after-hours, comedown-friendly downtempo soulfulness that the band's creative force and lead singer, Billie Ray Martin, was always so adept at delivering. This 'Deluxe Edition' expands the album across four CDs via a deep archive dive from dance music historian Bill Brewster. The DJ and author offers-up a wealth of released (and unreleased) club mixes, early versions and alternate takes, while the accompanying booklet features reflections from Billie-Ray Martin and an extensive essay from Pete Paphides.

Review: Back in 1990, Electribe 101 were riding high on the success of 'Talkin' With Myself', a Balearic house classic that ranks among the most saucer-eyed and loved-up songs of the era. The album that followed, Electribal Memories, was a gem, too, though has been largely overlooked - though not by those who fell in love with it at the time - ever since. Happily, it has finally been reissued on vinyl, with half-speed remastering and a deep cut to guarantee aural pleasure. With singer and creative force Billie Ray Martin providing some of her most memorable vocal performances, highlights include the early morning E-soul hypnotism of 'Inside Out' (a genius-like cover of a funk-soul classic), warm-up classic 'Heading For The Night' and the tactile deep house delight of 'Diamond Dove'.

Review: London-born, LA-based duo Eli & Fur present their second ever album, Dreamscapes, finding inspiration in the transformations that occur in the mid-to-after-rave hours of dusk and dawn. Fleshing out the sonic interpretation of the veil between self and surroundings, which grows thin in those early hours, Dreamscapes is a 15-track homage to the cathartic musings of our most solitary wanderings of all corners of the night and the flashes in between. From the slowly risen breakbeat transcendents of 'Missing You' to the moody progressive burbles of 'My Reflection', this is a subtly impressive album, one that holds fast to the deep house and tech in which Eli & Fur have always worked, yet unfolds its dreamiest and bleariest ends.
