Review: The latest 12" from long-running Sahko offshoot Keys Of Life is the first of two split 'Balearic' releases from Sex Tags man DJ Sotofett and SUED co-founder SVN.. Sotofett's "Current 82" is a thing of rare beauty; an ambient house inspired chunk of lucid, mid-tempo dreaminess full of fluid chords, subtle, loved-up melodies and early Italian deep house bottom end. SVN continue the deep theme whilst doffing a cap to techno on flipside "Dark Plan 5". Their chords and pads are every bit as life-affirming as Sotofett's - even if they are a touch on the bittersweet side - but the accompanying up-tempo rhythm has a more ready-made dancefloor feel. Either way, both tracks are superb.

Review: The third outing from the Do It Now Recordings crew looks to Pigsie's 'Haunted'. It's a perfectly zoned-out slice dreamy and organic deep house for open-air dancing under the sun - the sort of thing that you'd hear at an All Day I Dream party. After that sublime original comes three remixes starting with DJ Jauche who adds some distinctive Afro-house flavours before J. Axel keeps the airy, light melodies and supple drums in place but brings some extra twinkling keys. Last of all is Mattias Vogt whose version is a hypnotic roller with pads smeared across the face of the tune and delightfully innocent melodies floating about the mix.

Review: The Juno dreams EP is for those smoother out chill-out house sessions on the dancefloor. The title track is a future classic, dreamy, like early 90s Italian ambient house. 'Boxin' With GOD' is melodic and nice while 'Galaxies' is more soulful but still deep. A bit more upbeat and techy you could say. 'Glow' is possibly the most underrated here, lovely track! Overall, the Juno Dreams EP is a solid EP that is sure to please fans of deep house, ambient house and Balearic styled house music. Smooth and cool is the order of the day.

It was a demo tape from 2022 that impressed the Past Inside the Present label with its raw allure and it is that work which appears here nearly unaltered but for mastering from James Bernard. The opener unfolds with atmospheric guitar loops anchored by a steady kick and bass, 'Near' brings a hint of twang to expansive guitar tones and in 'Dim,' layered drones and melodies rise and fall like petals. Add in the suspensory sounds of 'Absent' and 'Carry' which blooms into a full orchestral swell and you have an immersive, introspective suite of sonic bliss.

Review: The all-new Dream Flight label embarks on its first voyage here and it does so in some style. 4:32AM - heavily associated with the Palace Vinyl shop in south London - is presumably named after that specific time in the night when only the deepest and most heady vibes will do, and that's exactly what we get here with 'Mitt Palms'. It's a delightful work of delicate and quiet deep house artistry with ambient pads and dreamy drums. 'Soft August Rain' is just as heady but brings some soft acid magic to the dusty beats and last of all 'Dream Flight' shows off some suburb drum programming with jostling broken beats and woody hits softened by smeared and painterly pads.

Review: 'Ski Jacket 87' is a compelling slice of watery warmth and womblike wonder from Edinburgh's Jacksonville, the latest signee of the city's equally esteemed fast-riser imprint Chateau Chapere. A two-decade fixture of the Scottish scene now, the Hizou and Innershift affiliate evidences his production abilities inasmuch as he does a concern for the dancefloor also. Something between a funky French touch and Mr Fingers-esque dream house is built and or felt here, though this isn't the kind of dream house that can really be achieved or constructed in reality, rather more so accessed only through the sublimity of the sonic daydream.

Review: Having made a name for herself via a series of fine EPs for Shall Not Fade, Chiwax and Tresydos (the latter in collaboration with Vince Void), rising star Lis Sarroca makes her Smallville label debut with a quartet of typically impressive cuts. The Spanish producer is in fine form on opener 'Atacote', where positive and gently sunny piano motifs and Italian dream house influenced pads ride a smooth bassline and shuffling deep house drums. 'Breaks Reminder' sees her successfully fuse the immersive dreaminess of classic Smallville deep house with shuffling electro-breaks and tight TB-303 acid lines, while 'Early Years' is a sumptuous slab of picturesque deep house dreaminess. To round off a brilliant EP, she serves up the revivalist electrofunk-meets-early European house excellence of 'Might Be'.

Review: Cultured Swiss techno label Acquit has put together this cheeky little 7" from Trecci with one great tune on each side. 'Invisible Self' is the opener and it is a delightfully curious, inviting blend of soft focus synth loops and smeared pads that sounds like waking up on a distant planet. On the flip, 'Sit And Wonder' starts with pensive piano chords which are eventually carried away on a supple deep house grove with loopy bongos and a feel-good sense of late-night cruising. Tasteful stuff for sure.

Review: The Austere label deals in deep house music that is anything but, and now it clocks up a tenth release with LAAK at the helm. As ever things open in smooth fashion, with warped chords bent over deep, lazy drums and brought to life with subtle but colourful arps. 'Norm-alise' is a little more upright with jangling percussion and icy tinkles peppering the groove and 'Natural Selection' is another dusty but dynamic house sound that reminds of the late great Mike Huckaby. 'Obsolescence' closes out and is a super humid basement tackle with a gentle tumble of toms and congas over the dubby drums.

The series has seen plenty of top tier DJ stars take charge and soundtrack cities all over the world from Budapest to Los Angeles via Miami. It has also saved up a fine line in late night after-hours soundtracks over the years and that sub-series, Global Underground: Afterhours , now hits volume number ten with anther tasteful collection of tunes on CD. The vibes are deep and introspective as you would expect, with appearances from such seasoned greats as John Tejada, DJ Hell and Seth Troxler, and needless to say, is always high on quality.

Review: Max Graef emerged with a dusty, lo-fi and lived-in house sound that soon made him a favourite amongst the underground heads of the early 2010s. In the years since he has dropped plenty of fine tunes and a great full-length and has seemingly been working on his skills and musicality because this new full-length is a real step up in quality. Review: The "Rhythms Of The Pacific" series hears Vancouver label Pacific Rhythms reimagine dance music to aid in vast ocean traversals. Returning with another 12" sampler of material - the tracks are slated for inclusion in a celebratory ten year anniversary comp later this year - we hear Lnrdcroy, Waterpark, Kennedy and Active Surplus bring upper-echelonic, chameleonic beats of the much-less-peggable variety. 'Galaxio Salaxio' moves between dark synth and watery dub, scarcely preparing us for the immersive chordal swims that ensue on 'Coastal Plus'. Finally, 'Blue Beam' incurs an underwater search for coves and water pockets, as jets of pressure escape through riser synths and pufferfish drums.

Review: Ben La Desh shows off his elegant take on deep house on the Dirt Crew label here with five well appointed tunes. 'Heel Goed' has loopy, subtle broken beat loops taking you on a trip through the cosmos next to swirling pads and daubs of colour. 'Lift Adrift' is a gorgeous tune laced with ambient beauty and 'Fine Rise' is warm, comforting and inviting. The drums are paced and the pads are spaced out. Review: One of the more surprising trends of the early 1990s was the fusion of contemporary club culture - or at least the slow-motion end of it - with what would have once been considered 'church music'. While it was made famous by Enigma's global hit 'Sadness', Sloopey G's 'Domine' EP was reportedly recorded and released first. Certainly 'This Is The Day (Notre Dame Remix)', which naturally heads this THANK YOU reissue, sounds like a prototype of the Enigma sound - think British street soul beats, dreamy ambient pads, sampled monk chants, tactile bass and spoken word vocals. The EP also includes both similarly formed original bonus cuts, 'Victime' and the house-influenced 'Cathederal Dance', as well as previously unheard bonus cut 'Love In Heaven', a deliciously, shuffling and saucer-eyed affair.

Review: Is deep house music dead? On HM008 - Retrospect, Hardmatter co-founder and label honcho Zapata flips that notion on its head, and proves that it's anything but. The Berlin-based, New York-born producer debuts on his own label with six thoughtful slabs of deep, padded, and jazzy house, informed not only by the legacy of his native city but also by the trying times that all house lovers face. The EP begins with the spaced-out, beatless ambient yarn 'A1 Bray From Beyond', a cinematic rumination as moving as it is nostalgic, before transitioning to 'A2 Miguel', a modern deep-house anthem dedicated to Mike Huckaby. 'A3 Birchy's Lament' follows, a hauntingly strewn, piano-driven slab of the early-morning deep house certain to move dancers into thoughtful submission. The B-side finds Zapata in jazz mode: like a Strictly Rhythm record, the three dubs on the backside-featuring key and piano solos by long-time collaborator and label hero Javonntte-pull together the best of the producer's musical tendencies, from slapping basslines to jazzy interludes.

Review: Zurich's Project Indigo imprint has admirable aims, with the proceeds from the sales of all its singles going to reforestation initiatives around the world. It helps, of course, that the material they release is usually on-point and undeniably enjoyable. That's certainly the case with this four-tracker, a label-debut from rising star Hame. The producer's previous releases have frequently blurred the boundaries between electronic and acoustic sounds, as well as tech-house, deep house and more besides. There's a similar approach here, with the spacey, loose-limbed deep tech-house dreaminess of 'Everyday' being joined by the ethereal deep house melancholia of 'Hope', the enveloping, lo-fi electro beauty of 'Lo-Fi' and the bona fide early morning deep dancefloor hypnotism of 'Stick Together'.

Lush, transportive, and quietly radical, this is ambient techno at its most fluid, a body of work that drifts between nostalgia and movement, solitude and propulsion. 'Leuchtturm' remains untouched, its soft hand drums and hazy atmospheres still unfolding like a slow sunrise. Elsewhere, 'AG Penthouse' undergoes a transformation, its flute-like trills and glassy keys now fused to a churning rhythm that recalls Tangerine Dream's work on Thief, minus the guitar histrionics. Review: Boaksi's debut EP on Seb Wildblood's all my thoughts label, titled Keep Movin', features the Zurich-based producer's talent for crafting emotionally resonant electronic music. Featuring all 12 original tracks, plus the inclusion of 'Df23' and 'Flirt', this is the first complete vinyl version of the album. Lee Norris's sound evokes nostalgia and warmth with atmospheric emotional techno. Influenced by luminaries like John Beltran and Autechre, this one remains a real gem.

Review: Personality Disorder Music is only early in its adventures in the label world but is already turning some heads. The fourth outing from the crew brings together some accomplished underground mainstays for four tracks of twisted tech. There is an edgy vibe to the opener 'Deception' with its throwback breakbeats powering along warped bass, and spoken word snippets adding a sultry twist. 'What Are We Doing' is a stringy and skeletal minimal groove peppered with twangs and hits, sine waves and toms. The B-side melon twisters are just as good with 'Chaos' (feat Mari Kvien Brunvoll) in particular having a nice occult cosmic edge.

Review: Neoclassic acid-from-garage movements from Peter Reilley aka. Persian, a favourite of the UK dance music scene since as long as anyone can remember. For 20 years, Reilly has gone his own way, operating in and on genre after genre, up-peggable as he is adept, blending breaks, digidub, electro, garage, house, and jungle across a repertoire of no less than 50 EPs. Though this release serves as his farewell, as Reilly formally steps back from music production, it beautifully showcases his skill in programming, with 'Questions 2' proving a sleight hand for twinging post-funk leads, and 'Questions 7' bringing unprecedented sci-fi desolations to an erstwhile jam-funky tune collection.
